No.

I'm Irish (4th gen) happy to answer any questions. Cheers!

the minoans/mycenaeans were more advanced than anything north of them during their time

This tiny pendant is from about 1500 BC, from mainland Greece.

why do you pretend to be irish?

well of course they were more advanced and to this day Irish scientists and philosophers are the best humanity has to offer but most Irish care about the act of living itself more than accomplishments and study

So yer sayins we were kings an shoite?

Kelts lived from the balcans, up towards the belgian/dutch/german borders towards scottland across the channel and downwards untill spain where the iberian celts reigned.
Kelts where not 1 people with a similar identity. But alot of civilizations working together and sharing their culture through merchant routes and working together in warfare.
The craddle of these keltic cultures can be found in Hallstat and La Téne.

Forget where I read it forty years ago, but the Greeks stated openly that they sent their best to Britain to learn maths and philosophy, etc.
Arabs stole everything they knew from the Persians, known fact
And the jews ... well, they were then what they are now and always have been

What's sad is that the average person thinks Irish or Scottish when they hear the word "Celt", when the Celts were the dominant culture throughout Western Europe for something like 1,000 years and the Irish were really on the periphery of that.

Caesar committed white genocide against the Gauls and destroyed their wonderful civilization. The Romans did adopt some things from the Celts, like their weaponry (gladius, helmet, shield) but for the most part they were responsible for the death of that great people.

No pretending here m8! I got the Guinness harp tattooed on my leg.

Their metalsmithing armor and swords was top notch, the Galatians taught the Romans some things even, however they were lacking in other areas, if they applied their skill to building cities with sewers and aqueducts with great architecture, they'd rival the Greeks easily. However they were lazy asses

This. The kelts built the foundation for the true children of Europe.

no, they had pretty fine metalworking but that's about it

>citation needed

by Caesar's time they were living in well-fortified Oppidum, some of which would be home to more than 20,000 people. They not just villagers making trinkets.

>Guiness Harp.
From one plastic paddy to another, just stop. Absolutely disgraceful.

Because American consumerism has fought hard to strip us of national identity and left many of us with nothing. So we reach back to our European roots for a culture and tradition that we lack.

There is American culture and tradition (young though it is) but it has been buried under so much shit that many Americans can't be assed to try and find it anymore. So we'll chase our ethnic roots in Europe, or identify with distinct regional groups like New England or Dixie, or if we're lucky enough to have a powerful state culture we'll get invested in that, like Texas.

We're a little lost right now. Don't hate us for trying to find ourselves in the history of our fathers.

yeah but doesn't mean they were more advanced than either Romans or Greeks overall(the latter of which also brought their influence to them as well)

also, they are the ones who started shit first by sacking Rome, they had it coming

Yes. The Celts showed Romans advanced fighting techniques, armor, fortifications, and others.

What is the significance of that? Stamped/pressed? Etched? Carved?

Rome had the advantage of concrete, mate. That's why it built big. It was all thanks to the volcanoes that Rome had access to.

The Celts had great metal working because they had access to TIN. This let them make a lot of useful alloys. If they'd had easy access to volcanic ash like Rome, they'd likely had made just as much mega structures like Rome.

Rome was jealous of the Gauls and Celts Tin. That was why Rome moved in on them and conquered them. All for that tin! That is how important that silly little metal was--- it was worth destroying two empires for the metallurgy advantage.

>We're a little lost right now
We're lost. Your 'culture' on the other hand is globally dominant.

he is 1/48 Irish

Says it's an engraving. Dates from 1450BC. The thing is only 1.3 inches wide

Yes, Rome basically engaged in widespread plunder and genocide. Caesar needed to pay off his debts. He killed probably 1,000,000 people most of whom were women and children. So much for the Roman ethics code.

Not saying the Celts wouldn't have done any different if they could, but it was really a sad chapter in history. Caesar was basically the Stalin or Hitler of his day.

Particularly the precursor to the gladius, chainmail, celtic style armor, and furor celtica warfare

>The Celts had great metal working because they had access to TIN
Blegians had access to steel in 100ad.
