But as for Psychology, I think it's hard to quantify such a subjective phenomenon as illness of thought.
Psychiatry is a more scientific approach to the issue.
Psychologists are just better paid, niche social workers. A degree in Psychology and a Certification to perform professionally is more a means of verifying that you aren't a quack "life coach" talking out your ass and can command a higher hourly rate as a result.

interesting field, but its a soft science, which means as of now there is nothing to back up hypotheses.

Psychology also made me stop being an atheist. I haven't found my religion yet (almost 2 years out of college), but I think Christianity is basically good, and I'll likely pick it back up again. There is more to the human experience than can be studied scientifically. My history of psychology course taught me that some of the most brilliant thinkers of the 20th century all believed in God, even if, on the surface, so much of their work seemed to discredit such a notion.

I don't necessarily believe all the details in the Bible, but the big picture seems good. It teaches a solid moral code, and at the end of the day, I do think a God entity exists. I don't think it matters, which religion you follow (except Islam, fuck Islam), so long as you follow the dominant religion of your area. This builds communal cohesion. Everyone sharing values is a good thing for a community. This also contributed to me getting redpilled on """multiculturalism""". How the fuck can you have a cohesive society when everyone has different value systems? You literally cannot. This is partly why ethnostates, like Japan, are far safer places.

Also Freud, I don't want to get into on the details on this guy since it'll start a flame war. The basic gestalt is that he was a brilliant man who had a profound effect on our understanding of the human condition. He fell out of favor for being politically incorrect, but thankfully in recent years, he is regaining support. Turns out he was dead on about a lot of things. SJWs get butflustered and claim that his theories can't be falsifiable, but they're incorrect. There is an entire book on quantifiably testing Freud's theories.

True, but a key point for being in the DSM is that the condition causes the person "psychological distress". LGBT people have a high comorbidity with many other mental illnesses. The MBTI is psychometrically weak, and "everyone is a winner", but there are other more rigorous personality tests that can be really telling of a person. The better you understand yourself, the better you can self you can be.
