I hate this a lot more than oreimo actually. Elf's romantic development is completely uncalled-for and pretty sadistic. The author dedicated a very substantial portion of the story to another girl falling head over heels for the protagonist and having her heart broken in what's supposed to be a feel good series.

They waited way too long on the S2. People forget quickly, that's why SHAFT milked Madoka's success for everything it was worth while they had the chance.
