Take the Binding of Isaac for example, Abraham shows his faith in God's promise as God had said that he would continue his lineage through Isaac, so in Abraham's mind there was no way God would go back on this promise, either God would resurrect Isaac, or prevent the sacrifice altogether. He feared not of what would happen, as the promise was made, and he believed God would fulfill it no matter what happened, even if he didn't know how Isaac would go about continuing his lineage despite being dead.

Good job OP! Prepare to have an army of fags confused about James 2 and Mathew 25. pro-tip, the Bible has no contradictions. James 2 is talking about outward expressions of faith and mentions Abraham who the Bible says was justified by faith, not by works in Romans 4. Mathew 25 is a little bit trickier to dispel but remember, there are no contradictions, only misunderstandings on our part. In Mathew 25 Christ is seperating goats and sheep and judging them by their works. Note that anyone who believes on Christ would be classified a sheep, per John 10:11. So when Christ says "you fed me, you clothed me, etc" to the sheep, he's referring to the fact that we expressed our works naturally, we shared the good news which is a natural byproduct of faith which saved others, aka the "least" the goats, obviously non-believers are damned not only by their own disbelief, but by not believing they damned others around them by not sharing the gospel.
