I just got out of a thread where someone grounded 24vac to fucking wood on 12 gauge and no one saw how fucking stupid that was, let's not even get into the fact it split the romex in a livable area.

wood is conductive because it contains moisture, and is not good for grounding? Just a guess.

No you dipshit you're supposed to earth into conductive soil directly below your main switch board with a stake up to 500mm depth and connect to your main earth bar with at least 6mm^2 earth building wire clearly marked with green and yellow insulation. The location of the installation Earth must be recorded in the main switch board and the earth stake clearly tagged.
