Are they right?

are they right?

should women be paid the same as men who have different jobs than them?

no it's not relevant that both men and women are free to apply to either of these jobs you shitlord

women can't even legally lift over like 5kg lmao

this fucking RAGES me, saw it on the news this morning.

THEY ARE DIFFERENT JOBS YOU FUCKS...!!

Be warned, this will not end well.
If the suit succeeds, it implies:

If you hire men and women, you have to pay them the same regardless of the work.

Why the fuck do they think stinky old boomer women deserve the same wage as a warehouse worker?

This is a further attack on male wages.

Would male cashiers get the same increase in pay I wonder?

It will never pass since it's a different job. Even if they have to give a raise to cashiers then, they'll just lay off half of them and turn the system automatic.

Of course not

typical of the bbc to disable commenting, can't handle opposing points of view on thier own fucking platform

think about it, whats going to happen?
Tesco, if they loose have 2 options:
1. pay all their cashiers the same as the highest warehouse worker?
or
2. pay ALL their workers flat minimum wage?

your a fool if you don't think its the 2nd.

> turn the system automatic.
also this!

Checked

>Sitting on a checkout chatting is the same as lifting heavy shit and operating dangerous machinery all day

As a Tesco employee this pisses me off.
The absolute state of modern women.

Do the same job get the same pay.

I demanded the same as a brain surgeon even though i work in retail, nobody paid me the extra 100k boohoo.

It was more rhetorical.

Yeah if they lose that and have to pay out 20k, I can see all the smug fat blobs, that are always perched at the end of the checkout smelling of sour cheese and perfume, getting all mad when they rinse that money on wine and chippys only to be laid off for being such a greedy shit. This is what happens when people think they are more than they are worth.

tesco has had a rocky few years and part of this is probably taking advantage of that. The suit is probably banking on Tesco making a settlement because they don't want a long drawn out shitshow

>if the women win they'll get back pay because sex discrimination is illegal
>there was no discrimination angle to the men being paid less
>men therefore won't get back pay

wakemeupinside.jpg

>demanding more pay for doing less work
Western women are the most spoiled creatures on the face of the planet.

BBC have triggered me over the last 2 days:
> be me turn on bbc news yesterday
> tfw "womens vote day"
> only women work on bbc news, only man is weather man "hehe"
> women talking about how great they are
> stupid interview with some women off love island
> "men are simple tho arn't they! hehe"
> "yeah hehe"
...
> today
> turn on bbc news
> women demand same wage for different work unironically
> fml familam "we're doomed!"
> turn off bbc, and plan ways to kill myself today

Sup Forums i have to tell you something, i think, i think i hate women, like REALLY hate women.
alone, about 1% are okay, but as a group they are fucking IDIOTS.
even the 1% turn stupid once they are with other women.

FUCK THESE IDIOTS

They'll probably get the increase in current pay, but there's nothing that would force Tesco to give them back pay

3. outsource all warehouse operations and make thousands redundant

i don't see how this "REEEEEE I WANT COMMUNISM" lawsuit is going to not be ruled in favor of tesco

Umm... Brit, why are you paying the same for different jobs and experience? If this continues in five years tops the women will be paid, without working, the same as men and if one of them goes to work she would be paid extra hours.

There has been precedent recently, a local council had to pay out for their dinnerladies/cleaners etc to be paid the same as men doing jobs like emptying bins and streetcleaning.

>should women be paid the same as men who have different jobs than them?
Yeah, women should be paid the same as burger flippers no matter what their title is, since they just goof off anyway.

The worst is that article. Completely uncritical of the whole thing, no suggestion that the fact that the jobs are completely different could justify the pay difference. Only quotes from people who support the action.
This is supposed to be an impartial news organisation.

This is the UK we are talking about

As someone who works for tesco the £11 an hour figure is misleading, warehouse staff only make that between midnight and 6am for unsociable hours. Usually they only make £9 an hour basic where shop workers make £8.50, the extra pay is compensation for the fact working in distribution is substantially more dangerous and requires more training. These women are fucking retarded ans basically want gibs for nothing.

Even splitting the company under a shell would likely be enough.

Women work in the warehouse and men work on the shop floor.

This is nothing to do with sex, its to do with the position. This woman making it about sex is a fucking moron.

So gentlemen, we must do something, we have options:

1. fight this somehow (??)
2. make a meme of it

2 gets my vote, i suggest find other cases of this "clear sexism" in other companies and DEMAND CHANGES

examples:
> female secretaries in law firms should get same as lawyers
> ...etc

I've already heard about it today on BBC Radio 4. BBC recently is insanely obsessed with women's rights and Radio 4 now is Woman's Hour 24/7 instead of Intelligent Speech.

How is this not communism

same thing happened in ASDA some time ago
dragged for like 3 years, then some stupid commie tribunal ruled that claim is valid
theguardian.com/business/2017/aug/31/asda-legal-challenge-increase-pay-shop-floor-staff-equal-pay-claim
everyone deserves equal pay if they work in same company irrespective of position or location
but now they have to take it to real court and it stopped there
fucking commies, fire up the rotors

>on feat all day

nigga wat?

All it would take to debunk the entire case is a case study of a woman working in the warehouse, and a man working the checkouts.
If the woman makes more than the man in this specific scenario then it is no longer about gender.
It's an non-issue, not to mention over before it enters the courtroom.
The BBC however has recently been blasted for their own internal gender pay gap, which is one of the -VERY FEW- examples where men really ARE making more money than women doing the same jobs, so this story, along with all the things this user mentioned
is an attempt for the BBC to save face among their own criticism.
And to think these arseholes are funded by a licence fee that nobody wants to pay. Fucking pathetic.

SO WHAT YOU'RE SAYING, DR. PETERSON

BREAKING NEWS
Tesco announces plans to spin-off its warehouse and logistics division into a separate corporate entity.

you would probably get better sucsess if you pander to the male cashier plight to ensure they are as equal as their counterparts.

Overlooked factor of this is that warehouse work is often night work, the unsocial hours will factor into the pay. You will be paid more than a cashier working less hours in the daytime if you're working longer shifts at night. Where is the unfairness there?

They aren't going down the gender route overtly, they're saying there is a pay imbalance between the roles.

>need technical qualifications/certificates to operate most warehouse equipment
>real risk of injury and death
>often unsociable hours
>hmm lads should I spend the weeks/months getting qualified to work as a forklift operator for £12/hour

socialism!

fuck the bbc and fuck women.

it's called dyslexia kid.
i blame tony's "no kid left behind" scheme, destroyed a whole generation.

there is truth in this

has brit pol ever tried doing anything against the bbc?
they are beyond the pale almost continually.

Can't wait for this to become case law and male janitorial staff demand equal pay to wymyn's studies professors at universities

>Even if they have to give a raise to cashiers then, they'll just lay off half of them and turn the system automatic.

This sort of shit will only speed up automation which im fine with btw

At my local sainsburys half the customer stations are self service already

I'm so fucking sick of turning on the news every day and hearing "hurr the first woman did X" or "woman does X, so she's brave and progressive!" On NPR last month I heard about a woman who opened up a mechanics shop for women because they were "taken advantage of" because the male mechanics were so "condescending". You would have thought she was martin luther king jr. with how they portrayed her. This was the most egregious example in recent memory, but every day there's more of it on mainstream news. It's absurd.

All it is is portraying someone as heroic based off their sex. There is none of that for men at all. It's disgustingly sexist. Equality my ass.

true, but i just accepted these jobs were abvously different.

tell these cunts. pic related.

I'm pretty sure that Tesco can afford solid lawyers and it's not as dumb as you show.

It's OK to be a women and have rights. I don't like that they are spamming the whole broadcast of BBC Radio 4 with their victim card whimpering. I want to listen more intelligent conversations.

walmart owns asda and are eager to emulate amazon, i wouldn't be surprised if they use britain to test out the staffless shopfloor model and lay them all off

>And to think these arseholes are funded by a licence fee that nobody wants to pay.

So stop paying it. I don't watch TV so I stopped paying the license fee years ago. Do you really want to watch fucking Eastenders that badly?

Retail is a joke.

Women sit on the counters twiddling their thumbs, if there aren't any customers, they just sit there because they can't do anything else.

Meanwhile men are breaking their backs in the fucking warehouse lifting 60kg flatpacked wardrobes and 20kg packs of rice for an 8 hour shift, and then when the women fuck up their job, they get called to the tills to do it for them, then they get sent back out the back to continue toiling away.

I'll never work retail again after the shitshow of being the only male employee in a store.

tell me what happened with ASDA then?
they cant afford good layers?

> It's OK to be a women and have rights
you know women have more rights then men in all western countries right?
this isn't about equality!!

i would be happy about this except, what else are these boomer women going todo?
they either work at tesco or get gibs.

having them unemployed doesn't help.

No. That is actually sexist.

Women are so fucking full of shit. Holy fuck.

you seem not to be aware of our lower/working classes that would pick staff-less shop clean in seconds if given a chance
automatic checkouts seem to work OK and you can slash staff in half without loosing much

Haven't paid it once in my lifetime m8.
I have a folder that contains over 90 letters recieved during the 9 years since I moved out. None of them are nice, they all contain what I would describe as bullying language. We all know the stories by now.
In short, I agree with your comment entirely, but it needs to be said regardless. "just don't pay it" is the same as saying "roll over and let it happen." If nobody challenges it overtly, it will continue ad infinitum.

Wow. Front of house demanding higher pay in line with those with potentially more risk involved. They are also going to be looking into automating that kind of work in the future so having a comparative boost to your income is the moral thing to do.

I don't dislike hat idea of everyone getting payed close to the same, it is more democratic, but when their are different tasks like this it doesn't make sense.

nothing happened in ASDA, some stupid commie mediation tribunal said commiunism is fine, pay everyone equal
now shit gets real, now they have to take it to REAL COURT OF LAW and it got stopped

> ..." we are not saying the jobs are the same, we say the demands are equivalent".

what is this kikery?

What companies should I look at and apply on their site for to get easy entry level jobs?

Tesco had a system where if you pass the online questionnaire your guaranteed an interview so found the answers online after some googling. No need to send my CV to over 300 places that don't reply.
I worked at Tesco for 6 months in a store being cashier, stocking and odd jobs then got bored and quit. Im living on student loans but want something to do in the daytime.
All my lectures are in the evening btw

I work on a factory assembly line. To be honest I wish there was a greater gender disparity where I work. I wish there were less women.
Women can talk about high-minded equality bullshit on a couch or in an office environment, or on a university campus just fine.
But put a woman to task at a job where physical labor is a substantial portion of it's nature, what you get are coworkers that constantly bitch, that you have to walk on eggshells to not hurt their fefe's, that always, Always have one health problem or soreness coming about or that need to chat instead of work at all possible occurrences. Whatever reasonings to not work like the men do, women will take, the older they get the more they will, and then you end up having to pick up the slack; all because Oldbitch MacDecrepit can't lift over ten pounds over her head or push that heavy cart when her ass needs to gtf out of the way and retire and stop getting in the way with her seniority. Nevermind the old bitty hasn't done nearly a damned thing the past three fucking weeks, and runs off for her daily 15-30 minute chat with the boss in order to waste fucking time doing jackshit. Oh no, she got a sore something so unlike you are always so let's make sure to make her ass comfortable. By working your ass harder.

>All my lectures are in the evening btw

Royal Mail. I used to be a delivery Driver for Tesco. I applied for Royal Mail and managed to bag an interview then pass the interview (I'd delivered to my postman and he gave me a good word to the manager)

Hours are nice and the job is easy. Pay is definitely decent as well. 9am - 2pm

get real job as engineering apprentice
if you are smart you will learn a lot

Women who work as shelf stackers in tesco should be paid the same as a male doctor, anything else is inequality.

In the US, we have the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which was designed to help blacks, because in the US, we screwed the blacks forever. It actually helped white women, gays and trannies. Black males are much more likely to be in jail then they were in 1964.

It would be nice, right before Hillary gets the rope, to point out what a big mistake to give women all these rights, and the sexual deviants all these rights, and go back to the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and have it simply prohibit discrimination against blacks and native americans, the only 2 groups that were really screwed by us. And make it clear that that 64 Civil Rights Act does not apply to gays trannies and women, and that everything that the gays and trannies got that piggybacked gets wiped out. Tranny gets reclassified as mental illness, no more gay marriage. Maybe throw in a jew cap quota, maybe 10% max jewish.

Democrats should, right before we hammer them super hard, should be fully ashamed about voting for Hillary Clinton, who has been committing the same crimes as her husband got impeached for.

Lessoned learned Democrats - you do not try to elect the wife of the impeached President. There was a good reason he was impeached. Plenty voted for Trump in order to keep Hillary out of office.

Isn't this just going to push more of those stupid unexpected item in bagging area!?! Machines? In many ways this future is a sort of cheap tesco value version of what 90s me thought the future would be. So I guess it's fitting.

Can I still do apprenticeships? Im in the third year of uni and hate it desu but I thought im too old now?

> Hard af men.

Nigga please. I worked in a warehouse for 5 years. Power tools, heavy stuff, unloading 4 40' containers handball per shift between 4 of us. It's not a difficult job, it's a job you go into when you have zero qualifications. No men there were "hard". There were some rough men, but that came with the economical environment they live and work in.

Every so often you had a chav come in on the agency who liked to play it up, but they often didn't last long because they were lazy and too abrasive.

Everyone in that warehouse at "operative" level were on the same rate of pay, male or female, and it annoyed me at the time. The women couldnt/wouldn't lift more than 10-15 kgs, so there were certain jobs, such as mine, they couldn't be put on, they'd be put on picking, whereas I had to palletise 300 50kg mitre saws by hand, yet would also have to go on picking if it were busy.

Was a cool environment though, decent people, chill management, untill it got taken over by a more "progressive" American company.

merchant navy, engine room. Learn a trade and get a job

>you know women have more rights
It's a compensation for being physically inferior. They have to give a birth and a maternity leave may taint a career.

I agree that they sometimes cross the line the idea isn't totally insane.

You can be funded so long as the apprenticeship is in something you don't already have an equal or better qualification in

>If you hire men and women, you have to pay them the same regardless of the work.
I wonder where this idea started

this

im 32 and just finishing 4th year mech eng, its ok to change direction at later points in life

Sounds comfy, what were you doing for royal mail? I'm considering doing supermarket deliveries too.

I'm learning fluid mechanics.

>Navy
I can't even swim senpai

So if im doing a compsci degree right now will that stop me from applying for an apprenticeship after i graduate? Or should i drop out it feels risky if i drop out and they reject me from apprenticeships

waitresses should be paid the same as chefs

your gif btw

Weeks/Months to be a forklift operator? It's a 3-5 day course. Ok, if you want multiple types you have to do individual courses for each, so let's say a couple of weeks if your company uses both reach and counterbalance. It's hardly a difficult course either, most of it is health and safety box ticking, then show you can get a pallet out of racking, move around a course without hitting anything, then put the pallet back.

I got my HGV aswell, which cost around £3000 7 years ago, but that was still only 2 weeks of training, a week on rigids and a week on artics.

These are not "skilled" jobs for the most part and the qualifications just mean you're slightly more competent than the other monkeys.

nice! I just finished learning Computational fluid dynamics using Ansys software. We were modelling turbulent flow in wind tunnels.

How do you like the course, any job in specific you intend to apply for?

Neither could I, all I did was sit on a chair in the engineroom telling various asians to grease things etc. I got to sit comfy on the laptop and raiding the galley. Even had my own cabin that I took my gaming rig in.

Its a comfy life if you can handle being away from home for a few months.

There was even a gym with sauna on my last ship, but tbf i caught 3 guys jacking each other in it one night. Was raging, went and told the skipper and he had them all canned. Dirty bastards.

women, niggers, and kikes: the pillars that destroy society

Some days I start at 6am. Spend 3 hours sorting mail/parcels. It's the easiest 3 hours to make some overtime money.

Then you go out about 8:30/9am and deliver the mail/deliver big parcels. All depends on the area as well. Some are easy walks. some are long and hard. You get paid if you go over 2pm so I usually finish at 2pm and claim 30 mins pay for my break which I didn't take.

Really easy job so long as you can stand walking for 5 hours.

>listening to what women say
there's your first mistake lad

I'm a software engineer, I'm interested in it from the point of view of numerical solutions for PDEs, physical solvers, simulations, etc.

The course is OK, it gives me the understanding of the mathematical model of fluids.

i work for a biscuit/sweets company, started as a packer now i manage a shift of oven ops/mixer ops because i know how all the shit works and how to fix problem mixes. A good head on you can take you far if you use it

I'd organise a nation wide protest. See how long the women chatting on Facebook in their phones at the cashier last if there's no man to stock or organise the warehouse.
Women are fucking collectively retarded.

Why can't people women understand that your pay is determined by your value? What is so hard in the simple concept of "you get paid proportionally to the value you create" to grasp?

>if im doing a compsci degree right now will that stop me from applying for an apprenticeship after i graduate?
In theory you can do any apprenticeship you want, but you won't get funded if you already have an equal or better qualification in a similar field. You have to be "acquiring substantive new skills" and the training has to be "materially different" to what you've done before. Companies can put you through an apprenticeship anyway but they'd have to pay for it. This all only holds in England, btw.

memed it

I find it frustrating working with women, since they're never satisfied. Either it's too cold or too hot, something hurts or they're too tired, someone was mean to them or they need to go and smoke, they spend all time shittalking eachother and keeping tabs on what everyone is doing. They can't lift heavy shit, hell, they can hardly lift a wooden pallet over their waist so men have to do it, they refuse to learn computer systems so men have to show them all the time, they don't work as hard or as long hours without complaining either... the list goes on. And yeah, I work in retail and it's insane that people get paid the same when the work is so different.

the turbulence models that incorporate the PDEs are still pretty new and not fully understood (due to the nature of turbulence in a fluid, eddies and such) so there is a good market for research and development jobs out there. The one that seems to be most widely used is the K-Є. Apologies if you already are aware.

Pic unrelated

Sounds interesting where can i find these merchant navy roles at?

Thanks for the info. I haven't learnt turbulent pipe flow yet. I'm learning the equations of motion now such as Eulier's and Navier-Stokes. Beside the turbulence I'm also interested in incompressible fluids and thermodynamics terms.

*incompressible = compressible

This Harriet Harman campaigned for PIE, Paedophile Information Exchange, a pro paedophile group in the UK.
telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/labour/10659169/Harriet-Harman-admits-paedophile-group-joined-her-civil-liberties-group-in-the-1970s.html

two recruiters I know off the top of my head are SSTG and Clyde Marine.

Otherwise google merchant navy cadetship. At the end you are an officer (not some shitlord rating) and will have an HND or Foundation degree in mechanical-marine engineering. If its not for you, you can then apply to uni to top it up to a full degree in just one year. Added bonus is now you can apply for engineering jobs and say you have experience unlike the other plebs just graduating.

Women get pregnant and they should earn less even for the same job. Pregnancy is an expensive risk. Equal pay juat means more unemployed women or lower male wages. This is the truth wether you like it or not.

Thanks

I was checking the careersatsea site just now and it said you apply for these roles one year in advance typically, so should I just graduate in that time between and then do a merchant navy role?

This. I thought it was a genuine case when I saw and heard the headlines. Then some woman came on crying about how they are different jobs but that's doesn't irrelevant it's muh gender pay gap. Fucking Christ the worst part is the world is so pants on head retarded they will probably win the case.

No worries, I would just apply anyway and explain on the covering letter that you are finishing off a current course, then will be free to start when the next academic year does in sept. The cadet courses are run at selected colleges, so its basically like being at uni again with trips to sea.

What course are you finishing off just now?

Hey look at that a labour MP blatantly lieing about the situation. Do they actually have no shame

>Why the fuck do they think stinky old boomer women deserve the same wage as a warehouse worker?
communism
