Anyone who thinks either anime is flawless is delusional. Most 2011fags will agree that the sound direction was generally poor and some songs were overused, but that says nothing about the soundtrack on its own, and when post-production wasn't fucking it up the OST really elevated the story.

This isn't even the most egregious example of telling instead of showing or, rather, showing and unnecessarily bogging the show down to a snail's pace with a patronizing immersion-breaking narrator telling me exactly what the fuck is going on in front of my very eyes. The fight with Youpi that follows this is an absolute fucking disastrous 2 hour piece of shit.

This scene where they are preparing to raid the palace in Knov's portal room was the hypest moment that I've ever experienced in an anime. I knew that when that minute was up, shit was gonna go down and heads were going to roll and that there was going to be a chaotic and climactic melee and that if I blinked I would miss it. I WAS SO PUMPED.

What followed was the dumbest shit ever.

>literally a gif of Youpi flailing his tentacles around for 10 episodes while the narrator drones on and on about things that are either completely wrong, incomprehensible or obvious
