I have trouble believing that, but I'm not planning on buying a console that'll run it. Maybe I'll give it a try whenever they eventually sell the thing on steam.

But even if the gameplay is fun, it certainly doesn't look like a Final Fantasy game.

Not a real epic: story shortened up because of the cost of modern AAA games.
Visuals look like a toned down gay visual kei jamboree.
Voiced dialog you can't skip through. ( I can't stand reading the dialog and then waiting and waiting for the characters to finish talking. )

If they make the game look like your average RPGmaker in order to put in an 100 plus hours of gameplay, be honest that you won't even glance at it let alone pay for it.

Modern FF was a mistake. It's time to take it back to its more medieval fantasy or steampunk roots.

I'm playing Stardew Valley right now, so, yeah, I probably would. Also, as I previously mentioned, I feel Bravely Default is what modern Final Fantasy should look like.

Let me be honest though, Xenogears made me realize that I prefer reading over playing JRPGs. When they run out of money towards the end and a lot of the game gets taken over by text dumps all of my friends hated it, but I loved it. I really cut back on playing games after that and started reading more.

Except not.
The Combat was completely bare bones, to the point it was rivaling KH1
The characters were either flat or assholes
The story's pacing was wonky even BEFORE we got literally railroaded where it just became a fucking mess that made no sense, rush things because fuck it, and just made characters irrelevant.
Summons are a complete joke that rely more on RNG and/or being bad than actually using them properly, and the game fucking laughs it's ass off at anyone who is a Bahamut fan
The "Open World" Felt so lifeless and there was zero sense of wanting to explore except maybe finding one of the 3-4 hidden dungeons or a pointless fishing spot
The only positives I can say is the fishing wasn't bad, and I'd bust a fucking nut over Cindy and Aranea.
Fuck Lunafreya though, I care more about Rosa, Ashe, Pennelo and Lightning than I do Luna.

So you've literally got a Truck supporting your protagonist in a fantasy world, who nobody notices is Truck because he's got the highest amount of BLUFF stat granted by God

Truck kun is the last boss who wants to trucked everything, because he has no breaks.
