Was this the greatest shonen of all time?
Was this the greatest shonen of all time?
>isekai
Fuck off.
oh we relevant now ?
No but it was fun.
It was
Jack was best
It was okay. Not the best, but a fun read.
Not the best thing I've seen but it was enjoyable.
Dorothy was my first waifu
It gave me a ring fetish.
I actually asked myself why I like MAR while hating the various isekai getting published today, and I think I know why.
>MC is a weakling at first and trains for like 6 months before being useful
>coherent magic system that doesn't have level ups or HP
>no edgyshit for no reasons
Being transported in a fantasy world isn't a worse way to start a story than another, but it's the complete lack of creativity, intelligents characters and sympathetics MC that plague the genre and posting it should be a bannable offense.
Those who hunt elves is isekai too.
Magic system turned into "summon the cooler thing" but it was definitely fun.
I loved this shit when I was younger. Fucking fantastic character designs and a simple but cool tournament story. It's too bad the anime's shit cgi took away from all the cool summoned monsters.
Also this. I remember assuming she was going to be a main villain when first starting it.
>ywn have a super powerful witch give up her wicked ways just because she wants your dick so bad
MAR>Flame of Recca
Not that hard considering Recca is garbage fire.
The term is dumpster fire.
Even when I was 10 reading for hours in the manga aisle of Borders I knew that one was garbage
Literal first ever Manga. 6/10. Perfect introduction to the weeb conventions of story.
Cool fucking character designs.
I remember having fun imagining a buncha different Arms that were waaaaaay cooler than the ones in the manga and made myself into this edgy mary sue Arm Master dude guy that fucked all the bitches and could melt down Arm metal and used it directly like I was a Mercury-bender and sheeeit.
Fun times.
>Borders
jesus user
god damit
>Borders
I member.
Rip
Rushed ending. All this hype for Phantom, and he nonchalantly accepts his death and kills himself. The final villain was a little too generic after that.
>Muh Super orb of al the evil in the wuuurld
>NANI????? And it's my dad?
Ate that shit up when I was 13
no but it's one of the greatest Isekai
You don't need all that greentext, all you need to type is.
>written by an actual writer and not a fanfic-tier webnovelist
The character designs were top tier and the drawings were pretty good overall. I wish it went for an actual adventure instead of a dumb tournament, but still a cool manga.
>he doesnt like tournament genre
but seriously, who did tournaments the best?
I miss the days when people would just go to some fantasy land with no RPG mechanics and just have fun. We really did have it good back in the day.
MAR was pretty good
*blocks your path*
You win bro. I had the fighting game for Gamecube.
>Mangaka breaks his hand and the anime ends up dying before the final hype arc is finished
I'm still mad
