Are they drunk? They look too happy there

Love changes everyone

what do the runes say

I wish I knew user. I wish I knew

Reminder not to reply to "x is best/worst yugioh" bait

It should be an unspoken rule that runes should be posted with a translation.

fuck that, it should be printed in bold 40pt font at the top of Sup Forums

I've never really been into YuGiOh anime, but I played a handful of the games a long time ago (Eternal Duelist Soul, Reshef of Destruction, Dark Duel Stories, Sacred Cards, World Championship 2004), and I've been playing through (and enjoying) World Championship 2011.
Is the show actually good? I always had the impression that they play fast and loose with the rules, and 'card games on motorcycles' didn't have any appeal to me. I haven't paid any attention to the franchise in the last decade.

Also, does it ever get any closer to its roots? I remember I owned the first 7 volumes of the manga as a kid, and I really, really enjoyed the tabletop RPG with Bakura at the time. Do they ever play games other than card games?

No card games for commies.

That image is from a tweet of an unofficial campaign group, literally everyone made fun of them for it. People who actually support Corbyn wouldn't repost it.

>I always had the impression that they play fast and loose with the rules
They mostly stick to the rules of the game itself after DM, with only a few hiccups (like summoning in face-up Defense position in GX and 5D's), but there's other ridiculous stuff that happens: 5D's had the Riding Duels which had different Spells, Zexal had SHINING DURO, Arc-V had Action Cards which is a whole can of worms, and now VRAINS uses Speed Duel rules, not to mention how stupid the anime cards can get in.
>Do they ever play games other than card games?
Pretty much no. The anime basically is a card game commercial, and if you're watching it that's basically what you should be expecting.

First 54 episodes of 5D's are widely regarded as one of the best in the franchise if you can get past "card games on motorcycles", Zexal is extremely hit or miss, Arc-V started off decent but dropped in quality fast.

Shame

That's pretty much what I expected. I guess I'll just download a few episodes. Based on this thread, I guess I'm in luck and a new series just started, so it's a good time to pick it up.

I've been enjoying WT2011, which as the 5D's characters and involves motorcycles, so I guess I can tolerate it. Maybe I'll start there.

Thanks, guys.

Arc V is the worst Yugioh by far, the first 50 episodes' quality is easily offset by Synchro's mediocrity. Let alone what the series spiraled into post Synchro

Consider just reading the whole manga. It's better than the anime anyway.

>WC 2004
Man, I pity you - I finished that game last week, probably the worst actual rules YGO game on the GBA.

Zexal is the worst just for the worst mc alone.

Name a more iconic duo. I'll wait.

>Stardust instead of Junk Warrior
>IMG

The only YGO game I played and didn't enjoy was Dark Duel Stories, and I think they made it before the game had actual rules. Custom cards, element-based weaknesses, and since I didn't know most of the cards back then and the tooltips for each card were so abbreviated, I ended up not knowing what I was doing for most of it.
2011 is my favorite, though. I like that there are actually enough cards in the game that I don't have to start with a deck full of Skeletal Servants in order for there to be progression.

THIS
it's like putting Fujiki with Firewall instead of (x)code Talker

I mean, Stardust is Yusei's "true" ace, just as Firewall probably will be for Yusaku, but Stardust is just really ugly to me, so I prefer Junk Warrior. Also, SCURAP FISTO

First VRAINS DVD looks miles better than any ARC-V DVD

What did they mean by this?

In terms of characters roles, GX managed to produce the worst record of all.

Shooting Quasar was also somewhat ugly for an ultimate monster, that hook nose ruined the rest of the design

At least Yuma literally ended up being a more developed character than Yuya ever did with his constant whining as well as character resetting every damn arc and I'm not even a Yumafag.

JUNK SYNCHRON DECODE TALKER
YUGO SHOKAN

I think I realize what I really despise about Yuya and Yuma, they lost absolutely nothing from their adventures, Yugi,Yusei and Judai all lost something, Yusaku even starts out having already lost stuff, but these selfish ass fuckers get every thing handed to them on a silver platter and don't deserve it. I get that they're young but when has that ever been an acceptable excuse for shitty writing, The Zarc then, the Numberon Cold, all bullshit.

What Yugi lost? Atem?

his perfect record to Rafael

What would it be called? Junk Talker?

Has Yuusaku smiled the entire series?

He's only smiled in the ending so far.

Ahh...Yuya lost his father who is not in life anymore remember? He is like Gon.

>and 'card games on motorcycles' didn't have any appeal to me.

You're missing out. I'm rewatching the sub right now and on episode 23.

Here's the torrent.

en.cili.vip/detail/0n6ov7zc47ivbonf

>Yuya lost his father
What?

Whooboy Stardust Dragon's V taper

>Aki Izayoi enjoys dishing out pain

Kinky.

do you think she uses a strap-on on Yusei?

So, basically what you’re saying is, you only like characters that lose something precious to them? How sadistic. Also, what do you mean Yuma doesn’t deserve his friends and parents back? Do you prefer that his friends still dead due to the Barian onslaught?

that can't be it he said judai lost something.

>When she sees yo dick

Yuya lost Sora and Yuzu and the people that got fucked because of Reiji's stupid tournament bullshit. Unfortunately that episode where Yuya calls Reiji out on this bullshit is the last episode that the writers cared and it all went downhill from there

Yuya also does start with an absentee father who's disappearance really fucked him up, and the concept of him wearing the goggles so that people can't see him crying about it is established pretty early on.

Will Aoi become possesive or wont give a fuck?

she will be clingy as fuck

I wish I had better taste in anime, but my autism for card games is too strong

>yugioh girls
>not being thirsty as fuck
The better question is whether Yusaku will actually care.

Ignore the shitposter. Either that or he is just retarded.

No matter how much anime I watch, I still watch Yugioh in the end.

He already cares more than she does

nothing wrong with liking card games

Does anyone have the gif of Yuri playing Super Poly it's edited to be Dimension Barrier?

I wish she would stay a brocon and not give a fuck about Yusaku at all or be neutral, that way her character wouldn't be completely decimated.Yugioh MG's characters go downhill the moment they develop any kind of feelings for the MC

If shippers are that desperate to have anything going on between her and Yusaku, while not ruining her character, then they should make him be the first to develop feelings for her. He is the MC so he will have other shit going on and the crush would just be a subplot so it wouldn't eat up his character. If Aoi is the first to develop feelings for him, then the writers will make her character completely revolve around that, and she will be downgraded and suffer the same fate as her predecessors

No, but it's actually pretty funny that Dimensional Barrier does nothing against Links.

>all my friends who refused to watch Arc-V are now sucking Yusaku's dick.

What the fuck went right?

Yusaku is a interesting main character. Don't get your hopes up though, he is going to be ruined one way or another

>Have friends that watch anime
What is it like?

Not him but its pure cringe. Its fun for some time because you have something to talk about but then it gets annoying

We rarely talk about anime

Sorry I am late.

>tfw Sora will never take you on an inter-dimensional date

Those first 50 episodes are shit to since the only thing they did was build hype.

Not him, but it's not that different from regular friends, anime is just another topic of conversation, occasional use of weeb insults, your waifu still gets called a shit, live watching a series together with booze is a lot of fun though
T. Someone who had weeb friends in HS and College

>watch anime
>expect something good
>is shit
>watch yugioh
>expect shit
>is good up to half

It hurts

A way to have her loving the MC and NOT loving the MC in this case is having Blue Angel loving Playmaker but Aoi not giving a flying fuck about Yusaku, just keep Playmaker's identity a mystery to her at least until mid season 3

Shun vs. Sora 1 was one of the best duels in the franchise though

Reminder, BB (Gladiator Beast) got 6 eps

with YGO you can take it easy and just enjoy since you already know that the quality will be subpar at some point, so when it gets good you actually like it, it's a light watch in that regard

>Konami shamelessly shilling more XYZ on twitter
Holy KEKs

Did she get molested?

Yugi lost to both Pegasus and Kaiba in the DK arc. I have no idea why people always forget this.

That nice police officer you see there offered her a sample of the new fragrance, Irrelevance #5, and she couldn't possibly refuse

I took a shot at explaining why original manga is good. How did I do?

"I can't speak for the early parts because they were pretty hit and miss, but I can speak for the DK arc and as far as I can tell everything good about the DK arc also applies to the good parts of the early bits of the manga, so it's not an issue. Anyway, here's some reasons:

1) The Battles - The DK arc keeps the duels interesting by making them play out like RPG scenarios, which vary greatly based on the opponent and where the game is played. For example, Haga/Wevil's duel in the forest focuses on the power-ups gained from dueling in the new terrain, while the labyrinth tag duel is focused on the labyrinth's mechanics, and Kabia's duel disk duel is almost an entirely new game. The same can almost be said for the individual turns of each duel - the reader doesn't really know what the cards do, but in each duel we know enough to know how bad a situation the good guys are in and the entertainment comes from watching this challenge overcome in ways that we didn't expect.

2) The characters - They're simply done well. I don't know enough about writing to say why that is, but to put it bluntly the character are strong, consistent, and entertaining.

3) The world building/storyline - One thing that the manga has over the anime is that the story simply makes sense, but putting that aside for the moment and speaking in terms of the manga only, the manga does a really good job of building hype and keeping you invested in the story. In the short term you've got Pegasus, who the DK arc spends most of its time hyping up (e.g. the video tape duel, the badass Keith flashback, and the lengths that Kabia is going to in order to beat him) and in the long term you've got the mystery of the millennium items. On a related note, one thing that the story really has going for it is that everything is connected in some way and consequentially very little is wasted (e.g look no further than what got Kabia in this arc)"

Serena might have ended up irrelevant to the show but she's still relevant to my dick.

Go be 12 somewhere else.

...

That would just make her incredibly dumb and dense considering she is one name away from figuring out Yusaku is Playmaker

Unless her memory gets wiped after waking up from the coma

That's a weird way to call someone a newfag.

More smol Yusaku when?

of course not, Jesus christ ! you are watching children card game

It's kind of hilarious how turned on Yuri sounded after he saw Serena all vulnerable after getting gassed. Him mentioning that he would personally take her back to academia and even threatening the obelisk force not to touch her sounded like he was planning to fuck her once they got back

Why the censor?

Because user was being a cunt, that scene literally screams rape doujins (more of that shit that, along with ntr, should never existed and deserve to be erased)

Are you gay?

Liking vanilla (the only better and good option) doesn't make me gay. On the contrary, liking the shit you probably like makes you not gay, but a mistake. So fuck off to fap your shitty kuroinu or your generic and disgusting taste shit to /d/

There's nothing more depraved than fapping to vanilla

How do you live with the guilt of fapping to something so pure afterwards?

>pure
Your meme of purity shit needs to die already. Nothing, NOTHING in this reality is pure. The closest thing of "purity" is love, and is the only thing one should try to get. And yes, love is not limited to sex, and not even romantic, everyone love their family, friends and even pets.

Then learn runes user

Yusaku's KOKORO NO YAMI when?

Kaiba and blue eyes.

Damn straight.

>Yuma lost nothing
Fujoshit or not this is why Zexal manga end > Anime. At the end of the manga, he loses Astral for good after making a promise not to off himself afterwards. He then swears to bring back Astral through dueling.

THICC

Still hilarious that despite DM getting more legacy support, it's Blue-Eyes that won Worlds.
