I am the bone of my sword

>I am the bone of my sword

He says while literally drawing his bow and arrow. Who the fuck writes this garbage?

>I have created over a Thousand Blades, Unknown to Death, Nor known to Life.
>Literally did nothing but copying already existing swords.

Ian McKellen pls

>Who the fuck writes this garbage?
You are the one writing garbage bait. Get better.

How is it bait? He literally calls a bow and arrow a sword. Refute this.

>arrow

>taking the literal meaning of any magic incantation

He's shooting a fucking sword.

These are true. You should have figured these 2 on your own OP.

But swords have no bones

Poetry and prayer does this shit all the time.

>"My dear, my beautiful flower...."
>"For I am thy sheppard....."

no way your girlfriend is a flower nor are you a sheep herder

It makes sense tho.
>I have created over a Thousand Blades
He did, his copies are creations.
>Unknown to Death
They are infinite.
>Nor known to Life
They are not the original, and probably fade away after a while.

In my experience with magic you have to be as literal and specific as possible lest you end up fucking yourself

Hey you don't know me or my flower girlfriend. Stop making assumptions.

>In my experience with magic
Sazuga wizards

>Arrow
>you can't multi-task

>literally a mage made of swords, summoning from his own personal reality of a planet of infinite replicated swords, to shoot a sword out of a bow
>hurr durr dis has nuffin to do wif swords
m8 you can't can't even be a secondary cause secondaries at least watched UBW and know this at least. stop being purposefully retarded.

Stop trying to pretend that "Bone of my Sword" exists because of a second deeper meaning and not just because Nasu fucked up English. The whole incantation only has one level: "Fucking Swords man, I'm made of them!". But somehow "My Bones are Swords" turned into what we know and love

Shirou chant>Archer chant
Engrish>Translation

Prove me wrong.

I want Ian McKellen to do a dramatic reading of this.

youtu.be/06d_uZ21Z2g?t=1m22s

Some do

This reminds me of Rurouni Kenshin so much. Anyone else?

>tfw introduce friend to Fate via Zero and then UBW
>tfw he's a filthy secondary
>tfw enjoy all his HOLY SHIT WHAT moments
>tfw his WAIT ARCHER IS FUCKING SHIROU WHAT THE FUCK moment was the best of them all
Worth it.

His favourite character was Cu though.

>His favourite character was Cu though
>friend
choose one

>not liking best character in the entirety of Nasuverse

Well he is quite literally a living sword. Like His body is quite literally a sword

The writer whose brain is like a mollusc.

It was fucking hilarious.

A talentless hacks writes that garbage. He goes by the name of nasu.

>Who the fuck writes this garbage?
A cross between a mushroom and an eggplant, given life by the unholy powers of charlatanism.

Nasu thought it was cool.
Now it does nothing but cringe everyone lol

He is a sword, and shoot a sword with his bow.
> I am the bone of my sword.
Make sense, just read the VN, or at least, finish UBW to understand, before posting.

Is a line from a eroge user. Of course is retarded.

I know pretty much jack shit about fate
But I know this guy's name is Archer, his class is archer, and his ultimate ability is summoning a bunch of swords

That's retarded

Caladbolg II is still a sword, doesn't matter if he's knocking it like an arrow.

And one of the main characters is named Saber, and she's King Arthur and uses a sword instead of a sabre.
It's japanese, they're not experts of english. I'm sure you've seen people with chinese or japanese characters tattoo'd on themselves, ignorant of their meaning as well.

Archer is more of a "rogue" class for heroes that don't fit as anything else, not all of them use bows.

Emiya Archer still fires his bows quite a bit, though.

>take a sword that can destroy an entire island
>turn it into a shitty nuke

Sasuga Faker

IRC the archer class only impies he uses projectiles same shit with gilgamesh

Anyone remember why archer could hold his ground in melee? I remember reading about it, somthing to do with him knowing the true name of his enemies and using a weird fighting style or a special skill of his

>Shitty
Did a good job blowing a new anus in Hercules in the visual novel.
Don't know why Nasu changed it so Herc blocked the attack in the anime, though.

>Anyone remember why archer could hold his ground in melee?
He was trained by King Arthur and fought plenty of legendary heroes in a two week period.
He makes swords for a living, trained with swords the remainder of his life, and probably fought almost non-stop.
There's also this line from the VN that implies he draws out his weapon's techniques.
Obviously since he mainly uses Kanshou and Bakuya he can't do that with the two of them since they never really had a previous wielder.

Eye of the Mind. Quite literally combat precognition.

Those are called teeth

>Who the fuck writes this garbage?
Someone who probably doesn't speak English and who isn't even a particularly good writer in the first place.

Oh cool, do you know japanese?

Ask me again when I'm writing bad VNs in Japanese.

Fuck off underage.

Eye of the Mind intuition and experience allow him to get out of shitty situations
Clairvoyance allows him to observe enemy movements
Weird ass weapons
In the fight at the Church he even slips up on purposes to bait Cu

Is Shirou's affinity with swords a side effect of having Avalon (Excalibur's sheath) planted inside of him? On the possibility that this is true, did Nasu mention it in an interview or was it in the VN?

I forgot where is it stated, but yes. Original universe Shirou's Origin was supposed to be something else but Avalon changed it.

Yes.

Shirou's Origin was Sword from the start. His original affinity we don't know, but we do know that at least post-Fire, Avalon changed his Elemental Affinity to Sword as well. The combination of the two (Origin + Affinity) is a big part of what allows him to develop and thus manifest/utilise Unlimited Blade Works.

>sees a poem about Archer's life, becoming the ideal, and then being betrayed by it
>can't die, in eternal hell where he goes against the very core of his being until every possible iteration of humanity dies off
>never truly lived his life, instead just blindly followed a borrowed ideal
>NAH, MUSSD BEE ABOUD SORDS

pic related, true Emiya end.

Emiya Shirou himself is a sword so it's okay. The only thing Swords are good for is killing and maybe in the kitchen.

Shirou's new life, parents, magecraft, affinity, and origin, even his name are all borrowed

He really is a Faker through and through

Cute picture.
I enjoy thinking about Chaldea's SoL shenanigans. It warms my heart, specially stuff such as the Emiya family being reunited or Arthuria and Mordred reconciling and finally becoming father and son and stuff like that.

so why did he went full Pucci

FSN is pretty shit in general, it's easily one of the worst things Nasu has ever written.

The point of the chant isn't that the swords are HIS bones, its that he is the core essence of all the swords he creates, because he HIMSELF is a sword.

This is fucking babbies first poetry analysis, go back to 8th grade.

so why is emyia a sword i still dont get it
is he not human?
is the disaster memory fake?

That's just a shirouface.

He's a human/scabbard hybrid. Kiritsugu magically implanted King Arthur's sheathe, Avalon, in him to save him from death because it has magical healing powers. This is why he was able to summon Saber in the first place.

He was a human once but he loved swords so much he became swords.
You'll understand one day when the Heaven's Feel movie comes out.

He used to be a normal child, then he got fucked up by the grail sludge and fire after the 3rd grail war, and Kiritsugu saved him by implanting Avalon in him so he could recover from his fatal wounds. Somehow that whole ordeal warped his affinity to be swords

It truly is best timeline.

>swords have no bones
This sword is made of bones.

Baiting aside, I just always assumed He used certain phrases to activate certain levels on his magic. The first line seems to be used with the most basic magic he has.

>so why is emyia a sword i still dont get it
>is he not human?
>is the disaster memory fake?

He is human, he just has a very alien/insane mindset.

His disaster memory is real. The fire was what reforged him into what he is "now".

He is a sword because he sees himself as one, and both his Origin and Alignment agree on it. His mental conception and image/projection of himself is not as a person, but as a weapon, a device for securing happiness for others and never for himself.

>Heaven's Feel
>cooking_and_harem_end.jpeg
>implying understanding comes from shitty adaptions of a single route
You're a lunatic.

>The point of the chant isn't that the swords are HIS bones, its that he is the core essence of all the swords he creates
So what you're saying is that either Nasu has fucked up English or that he doesn't understand symbology at all. Bones are not the core of one's being. Sasuga typemoonfags, you'll do anything to justify the most embarrassing pieces of writing.

>shitty adaptions
It's not even out yet, holy shit dude. If they're even half as faithful as they were with adapting UBW it'll be good though.

Caladbolg is a sword.

It's at most going to be two or three movies of maybe an hour and a half to two hours each. You cannot adapt a single route in that amount of time, period.

Why not? UBW did and it took the exact same amount of time as three movies excluding the opening and ending themes. If they keep the cooking and slice of life segments short, it'll definitely adapt everything.

I always thought the reason was much simpler that that. Japs think everything has a spirit and spirits naturally have a will. If a sheathe had a will, what would it desire? Naturally, it would desire swords. The sheathe's will influences his own desires.

Bones are what gives you shape, without bones, you'd be an amorphous blob (you might be one in either case actually), Shirou gives shape and form to the idea of swords in his mind. So in essence, he is the bone of his sword. Without him, his swords would have no form, they would just be ideas in his mind.

>Nasu has fucked up English
That's true. What a surprise, no?

I'm not going to argue point any further because there might be some nuance in regards to bones and skeletons symbology in Nippland that I'm not aware of. I also can't assume that user's understanding of this is what Nasu intentioned as an author. Either way, I'll quietly retract my objections even though it is still a very off-putting quote to any sufficiently advanced English speaker.

Why are you even quoting this out of context?
The defensiveness of typemoonfags will never cease to surprise me. What a cancerous bunch.

>though it is still a very off-putting quote to any sufficiently advanced English speaker.

Only if you're not familiar with the Bible.

Leave it to nasufags to imply that the pieces of media that they consume that revolve around wanting to stick your dick in King Arthur are on the same level as the Bible. This is some next level shit right here, I don't even thing I've seen NGEfags sinking this low. You are the bone of your shitpost.

Reminder that the whole of Type Moon and the Nasuverse are just a premise for a bunch of shitty pornographic dating sims in which semen powers magic.

I remember the explosion of popularity in 2005 when F/SN came out. At some point people started taking these wank games and their adaptations too seriously.

The Bible sucks.

There's a difference between being familiar with the Bible and having random passages of it memorized.

On that matter: I, like many others (I can only assume), thought that the song title "The battle is to the strong" was simply broken English until I perused the Bible out of boredom and found the corresponding line of reference out of sheer coincidence: "The race is not to the swift" -> "The battle is not to the strong" -> "The battle is to the strong".
These aren't connections that ordinary people would be able to make, with or without significant familiarity.

So - which is the Biblical verse that corresponds to the 'bone of my sword' bit?

So how the hell are you supposed to use that as an actual sword?

The Torah sucks. Qu'ran sucks. Shit, the Mormon Bible sucks. What is your point? That because these things suck you're enlighten in your pursuit of Arthurian ass? You people are demented.

Same way Gilgamesh uses Ea.

>So how the hell are you supposed to use that as an actual sword?

Waifufaggotry is the peak of human existence. You'll understand one day.

the only thing worse than hardcore fatefags is fate secondaries

>In my experience with magic

Are you fucking retarded? Comparing similar phrasing between two works does not imply they are "on the same level".

Isn't it already confirmed to be three movies?

You're not.
The original wasn't twisted like that. Archer himself modified it to be used as a projectile nuke.

I mean if it doesn't have slicy edges isn't it just more of a shitty drill

It's 3 movies of 2 hours and a half long.

Now this is self-awareness I can respect. Ride on, you beautiful user.

Why are you so simpleminded as to think that only similar phrasing is what makes literary works comparable?

Are you autistic? Did you read the VN?

It's a magical chant. Aside from that when he says he is the bone of his blade, he means it. His origin is a sword. His entire magic is based on swords. He grows swords inside his own body. And if you paid attention instead of being a dumbfuck you'd see that he doesn't shoot arrows, he shoots swords he created.

Read the fucking VN before talking about anything you dumb faggot. You have no idea what the rules for magic are in this world, so shut the fuck up and go read it dumbshit

What the fuck are you even going on about? Someone just pointed out that a phrase was similar to that used in the Bible, you're the one who started flipping out about them being "on the same level".

>Are you autistic? Did you read the VN?
>It's a magical chant.
>You have no idea what the rules for magic are in this world
i_ain't_got_to_explain_shit.jpg
Embarrassing.

>turn your friend into a filthy secondary for your own pleasure
You sick bastard.

>i_ain't_got_to_explain_shit.jpg

Yes. That's right faggot. Or were you legit planning on learning the magic of a fictional universe?
