American anons who work in corporate, is it true that it's a super harsh world and you're treated like another cog in the machine ? I'm really interested in your experience after a Reddit rant I read recently.
I was groomed from childhood to be “successful.” ...
Somewhat. I work in tech as I'm sure a lot of people on this site do and you definitely need to be able to play a little bit of office politics to advance. In tech I think you can make it on skill alone, but you run the risk of getting passed over for promotion/projects if you haven't "made friends" with people.

I don't think so, reddit is full of leftists who resent the fact that they have to work at all. They wasted tens of thousands of dollars getting degrees in things that haven't adequately prepared them for the current job market, which condemns them to working entry level bitch work jobs for the duration of their careers, so they think that all work and all companies suck because they're the least skilled and most expendable workers.

It can be. Make sure at minimum the job you get, you don't dread going into every day. Not looking forward to it is fine but outside of that the most important thing is to be OK with who your boss is, can't stress this enough.
Also make sure you keep growing "as a person" as gay as that sounds. Once you get into a routine of 9-5 or whatever it is, relax after work/work out, then eat and sleep.. you completely stunt yourself as a human being.

I've done I.T. in a corporate setting.
I'd rather collect unemployment than do that shit again. I'm not joking, it was terrible and soul destroying. Everyone who had been there for more than a few years was a broken individual, especially the men.

IT-type guy for 25 years, mostly corporate. No, it's not nearly as bad as many people make it out to be. If you have a decent work ethic and commit to keep doing a good job despite occasional corporate bs, you'll do well. Yeah, you'll have to "play the game" occasionally but is that really such a big deal? It's just human nature, people shouldn't take it so seriously.
Stay positive, make friends, do the job they're paying you to do, and be consistent. If you do find yourself in a truly toxic environment then change departments, or try a different company.

it depends what you make of it.
I started a job in one of the largest corps in the country, as a software engineer, about a year ago. I thought, going in, that it'd be slow boring work, nothing like startup culture. It turns out, though, it's really all about your team.
If your team is small and competent, it's basically as fun as a startup. I don't know much about larger teams but I hear there's a lot more coordination overhead which makes it a lot more frustrating.
Also: the bigger the company, the more they can afford to do for you, and the more stable the income. My company pays me well and offers me tons of benefits that none of the startups could afford. Plus it has to follow lots of labor laws that smaller companies (under 50 employees) are exempt from. Lots of people have already come in and advocated for certain employee rights and perks, so we have lots of stuff that's designed to treat us right.
I'd recommend it if you're skilled and motivated.

Nah I'm sure this scenario of a bald, fat and unfulfilled corporate slave who wasted his life 'for a bank' instead of doing arts and crafts, that perfectly mirrors the amalgam the left has of everyone who left their college town for a 'corporate job,' is totally genuine and real.

"diversity" and "inclusion" are ruining corporate everything

Agreed. A bad upline can really tire you out. I believe it's our own responsibility to find a place we're content with. I know I could move now and get a 25% pay bump immediately, but it's not worth leaving my current placement that I'm really happy with.
And yeah, don't expect your employer to be responsible for enriching you as a person, that's all up to you. Ultimately it's just a job, only one facet of a lifestyle you're responsible for building for yourself.
