Trump Declines to Declassify Democratic Memo, Citing DOJ and FBI Objections

>President Trump is declining to release the House Intelligence Committee Democratic memo, after the Justice Department identified portions that would raise “significant concerns” if released, the White House counsel announced Friday evening.

Expect "constitutional crisis'" and "threats to our democracy" soon.

I do seriously expect quite a bit of backlash though. He should have let it go through and brush it off as fake news/liberal fanfiction. Make the left look petty.

ANOTHA MEMO!

>Republicans put out a memo politically favorable to Trump
>DOJ and FBI object
>Trump releases it anyway
>Democrats put out a memo politically unfavorable to Trump
>DOJ and FBI object
>Trump decides now to listen to the DOJ and the FBI

hmmmmmmmmm

The Democrats put classified information in their memo that they KNEW would, at best, have to be redacted for this very purpose.
It's a political play to hide their sedition.

I would have released the memo without redactions just to fuck with Schiff.

>babby in chief cannot stand for anyone to say anything bad about him and refuses to give up even worthless losses because its the only way to prove he's not a loser

and prove himself even more compromised by the Russians?

You do realize that releases of classified material, by definition, do damage to national security, right? The higher the classification, the more damage it does. If any of that information comes from HUMINT, it puts the lives of American spies at risk. If it comes from SIGINT, it reveals to sources that they are being collected on.

The decision to declassify classified material is not one that should be taken lightly, and that's why the President, who is solely responsible for national security under the constitution, has the final say.

>releasing classified material is bad
>but ignore when trump does it, he's the best decision maker on the planet

Trump acts like a petty faggot again YEAH BASED MAGA!

I don't care anymore, fuck these gov't stooges in the ass.

That's not what I said, and you sound like a butthurt shill.

This is a loss for the POTUS. He got outmanuvered. It weakens the Nunes memo when people can just point out the double standard

The same concern wasn't used for the Nunes memo. Weak rebuttal

There’s no double standard. This isn’t fucking high school debate class, Dems aren’t entitled to a rebuttal.
Anyway the Dems probably loaded their rebuttal with classified shit to force Trump’s hand into blocking it just to make him look bad. Schiff already said there were concerns about sources and methods

>The Nunes memo was a nothingburger
>stock market is shitting blood
>trump's staff is resigning like crazy
>trumptards think they won something again

Yes, it was. Trump worked closely with the DoJ and FBI to ensure that the release of the memo would have as small an impact on national security as possible. Several changes were made to the memo. There was multiple news stories about this.

The Nunes memo did damage national security, I think, due to the Five Eyes agreement.

Christopher Steele is a "former" MI6 agent, but he's also listed in the Nunes memo as a "long time" asset of the FBI. Well, it begs the question: how long? If it dates back to while he was still actively MI6, well then we have a serious breach of a major agreement's terms, which is in and of itself a potential threat to our National Security.

Trump is taking his foot off of NBC's neck and letting them have their moment with the Winter Olympics. He'll declassify either next week or after the closing ceremonies.

I reckon they sorted that out a long time ago. There's a lot of backscratching in the international intelligence community.

shareblue fags like you worry the DNC checks will bounce higher than your mom on a BBC.

>He should have let it go through and

You're the one being played here...

The Dems are stupid, but they aren't that stupid. They purposely left in contents that they KNEW would be flagged by the DoJ and KNEW would make it impossible to release. So now they can cry to high heaven that Trump is a "threat to democracy."

Trump knows whats going on, the Dems know whats going on, and as much as I hate libtards, this was a good play on their side. Now we wait to see Trumps next move.

>this was a good play on their side
Not really. Trump controls the news cycle with an iron tweet and the left has been kvetching about russian collusion for literally 18 months. Whatever they put in that memo could not possibly have stirred up their base any more than it already is without an actual indictment from Mueller on Trump himself.

On the other hand, the memo outlines actual abuses of power by the establishment, which brings independents onto Trump's side.

>wrong
let them scream bloody murder like a 911 call. At the end of the day, Nunes memo was intentionally overhyped and simplified. Like a Bob Ross masterpiece, Trump is using broad strokes to set the stage.

He blocked dems attempt to essentially graffiti the set by shifting the angle. Truth is on POTUS side. Time is too. Dems can only spin the wheel in nuetral and burn out their core. We never tire in the pursuit of justice as the treasonous cowards play blindly into gambit after gambit. They still will be taking the fall and will likely burn democracy back to the ashes of monarchy and fuedalism. The lefts wage slaves are little more than an army of serfs and non native speaking immigrants
