I liked the show before Gorilla started us on this shitty arc. Still, it has always been undeniably fujobait.

Gintama isn't fujobait. It attracts a lot of fujoshi and there are a few referential nods to that part of the fanbase but the series has never been something along the lines of Prince of Tennis or Haikyuu which are much more deliberate with it.
