Lum.

Way too fucking clingy.

...

Ataru. He's a married man and needs to act like it.

We need more girls like Lum

Kyoko > Lum

Why is Rumikoshit so overrated?

Definitely, she strikes an almost impossible perfect balance between virtues and flaws. She's pure yet not innocent, bitchy but without being an asshole, intelligent and independent but naive and fallible. With a hot temperament but also a vibrant spirit who lives happily the simplest joys of life.

>clingy
What a beta fag
If I we're Ataru i'd tap Lum everyday on the table, bed, chair, floor and even on the fucking ceiling. Especially on the ceiling.

No you wouldn't, because deep down you know how beta you are.

Why don't we have MC's like ataru anymore?

>how beta you are
Stop self projecting yourself in everything

>hot alien princess MC lusts after
>decides to become his wife and tries to copulate at every situation given
>eventhough the MC is always trying to get laid somehow he refuses said alien because of 'muh childhood friend'

was it braindamage?

I miss when harems were done right. Ataru is actually alpha as fuck.

>has a scarcity mentality
>calls others beta

Why did they make all the girls so thicc for Rock the Planet?

Yeah, the first few episodes aren't very representative of the rhythm they get into.

They were pretty thick like that in some of the episodes around that point. I'm not on my pc so I can't post screens though.

>eventhough the MC is always trying to get laid somehow he refuses said alien because of 'muh childhood friend'

Even after Ataru mostly gives up on Shinobu he still avoids it. It's not so much "muh childhood friend" as much as it is "I don't want to be tied down and married when I'm so young."

...

>Need something less than perfection that you already own
Disgusting

What did Sup Forums think of this episode?

youtube.com/watch?v=bdhIu94m6JI

...

It's done for comedy, so no one is really in the wrong.

Let's be real, you would just act like Megane and his group, aka the real betas of the show. (Except maybe Perm)

I noticed that too. I definitely prefer the thinner, more cartoony style found in middle episodes. Rock the Planet is cheesy as fuck compared to the other openings.

UY isn't a harem, but I definitely agree Ataru is alpha.

what does lum's cooking taste like

Death

They tried recreating her with Lala, but it's just not the same. Youko from Inukami is about the best option, but that's still an 11 year old show holy fuck it's been so long.

Beefy

QUALITY

It's imposible. The closest we got to a new Lum was Ryoko.

Ah fuck, I forgot how amazing Ryoko is.

I was actually surprised that in later episodes Lum creating or putting together stuff actually comes up fairly often. I thought that aspect would have been original to Lala but the only thing original about her is that she's really bland.

>Urusei Yatsura
>DARLING NO BAKA! *ZAP*
>Inuyasha
>INUYASHA SIT!
>Ranma 1/2
>I'M A BOY! *WHACK*
Does Takahashi actually know any jokes other than this one?

The hedgehog hair is a bit offputting, but she seems alright

I can see you didn't watch Maison Ikkoku.

Furthermore, Ryunosuke is just proto-Ranma.

Did he do anything wrong?

Well there is Starfire from the cartoon, and Star Butterfly's design is based on Lum.

Have you even watched any of the show? That is not even close to accurate.

Lum declares herself as Ataru's wife without his consent, she misinterpreted his proposal to Shinobu and forces her way into his life. He doesn't want to bang her because he doesn't want add legitimacy to her wife claim while he's in high school. Because to Lum's dumb alien race, marriage proposals are unbreakable (even though she broke her engagement to Rei, but whatever).

>marriage proposals are unbreakable (even though she broke her engagement to Rei, but whatever).
Huh. I never even thought about that.

>Calling Ataru "MC"
He's too much of a non-blank slate to be called that.

Ataru is a very interesting MC and I can't pinpoint why. He's a dick but there's definitely something about him that catches the attention and almost makes me root for him on several occasions. And that's very weird because I usually despise MCs who treats girls like objects.

I like Ataru because he's hilarious.
Also, despite being a horny bastard, he will do the right thing when it really comes down to it. Episode 157 is a great example of that.

Mexican food.

be~sa~me mucho~

Another thing I like about the show is the how Mendou and Ataru interact, and the comedic situations that come out of it.

At first glance, they're rivals, but there's a friendship deep down. Because at the core, the two are more similar than they'd like to admit.

His only mistake was underestimating Ataru & Lum. Other than that his heart was on the right place.

Fuck off spic

This. It's funny and endearing because they're the closest each other have to a best friend. Also pic related. I love the horror parody episodes. It's a like a Japanese Threehouse of Horror.

Suck it, burger. Lum sings in spanish.

>they're the closest each other have to a best friend.

Oh man, that's so true.

At least she's not a vile spic.

Its not he doesnt like lum, is just he likes everyone he just doesnt want to be stuck to one person but the episode of when lum might turn into a cow it proves he cares because he starts building a shed and shit

>the episode of when lum might turn into a cow
Oh, they actually get married?

...

The films had some god tier soundtrack.

I stopped watch the films after Lum the Forever. How do the rest fare?

The first one felt most like the series, the second one was probably the best, but Lum the Forever was just alright. The poster was sick though

why didn't you watch the ending?

Ataru and Mendou work so well because they're both the same and the opposite at the same time.

The cursed straw doll episode is one of the best among those mainly featuring them. It's bloody hilarious.

Why is the tank in the pool?

Indeed. I can't believe I was missing on so much good stuff here.

You know how they say when you find your waifu, you know right off the bat, it just clicks. That was Lum for me, literally the perfect woman.

Megane is the true enemy

Apparently the director for UY would get letters in the mail from otaku who wanted to fuck Lum

I can certainly understand their point of view.

I honestly wish they kept her psycho bitch attitude more intact like Takahashi intended.

They kinda kept that attitude in the earlier episodes

Thank God her editor slapped some sense into her and we didn't the ending she wanted for the series.
Where Lum goes back to her planet and Ataru gets back together with Shinobu.

I know, It would have been interesting for the rest of the series to be more like the earlier episodes in my opinion.

Lum is sexy just by being herself no need of ludicrous or excessively lewd fanservice scenes, her beauty and cheer are mesmerizing. The fun thing is that this isn't completely all Rumiko's achievement, the anime producers and the fandom at the time played a big hand in developing her.

This. I love how Lum developed. Rumiko got her wish in getting a psycho bitch with Shampoo anyways.

Okay, episodic series and there aren't really character arcs, but psycho Lum is done from this point and she starts taking on her final sweeter character. It kind of makes it look like she was lying, murderous, and sexually aggressive out of insecurity and calmed down with a little reassurance.

80s girls were so thicc.

Ataru does love Lum, he just wants a harem with her in it.

She just wants him to settle for her.

I love the moments where Ataru does something stupid and Lum isn't even mad, just concerned, "Darling... are you legitimately retarded?"

...

ラブ・ミー・モア~

Lum is so hip

I love those too. Goes to show Lum already thinks of him as her couple. She's only mad when it's about other girls but other than that she takes care of him and enjoys going along with his antics.

Lots of cute little outfits in UY. Not all of them stay on.

...

...

Look at what she's wearing, she was asking for it

She always asks for it but Ataru never gives it to her.
