Remember when romance anime had balls?

Remember when romance anime had balls?

Who's the Sakura-chan clone on the left?

>remember when romance anime catered to the cuck audience?
No, it's been too long. Glad we've left those dark ages behind us.

I remember Takoyaki having none.

Nice

They literally are balls though.

Bakayuki was his nickname among the fandom back in 2003
Those were more innocent times

>miserable tone
>sex
>ntr
>moral dilemma
>no happy endings available, only bittersweet at best
Not 'comfy' enough for today's japs.

I don't think I was very active in anime around that time. We just called him Takoyaki at home because it's easy to remember.

If that's all you want go watch that dumb lesbian NTR anime while it's hot.

Kuzu no honkai exists

Mizuki or Haruka, Sup Forums?

Manami

Literally who?

But it's shit.

That's why there aren't lots of these kind of shows
It doesn't pander to the anime crowd

Play the VN when it gets translated

Kuzu no Honkai being shit doesn't have anything to do with pandering to this audience though.

Seriously speaking, even the level of realism (which is a word I didn't believe I'd use of either) between Kuzu and Kiminoetc is totally on different level, with Kuzu the main goal being to portray edgy teenage drama for the sake of it.

Reminder that Mitsuki a best.

Kiminozo tried to honestly capture the complexity of human romance and relationships, and the end result was heartbreak after heartbreak. Which is a common story in the real world, too. You won't find girls as cute as Mitsuki or Haruka in real life, but the relationship web between them, Takayuki, Akane and Shinji sure as hell happens.

If I ever meet Kouki I want to ask him how much of what he wrote was autobiographical (Kiminozo? ML Unlimited?) and/or wish fulfillment (Muv-Luv Extra, Alt)

Nowhere near as good or intense as KimiNozo.

Honkai is fucking dull; where's the emotion?
