Fall 2017

>Staff
Chief director - Hiroshi Nishikiori
Director - Hirokazu Hanai
Series composition - Takayo Ikami
Character design - Masaru Kitao

>Cast
Gayus - Nobunaga Shimazaki
Gigina - Yoshimasa Hosoya

>The story revolves around "jushiki" (lit. spell equations), the equations that govern the quantum constant "h" of action, change the laws of physics at the local scale, give birth to TNT explosives and poison gas, and cause incredible physical phenomena such as plasma and nuclear fusion. Two "jushikishi" (spell equationists) who use jushiki in battle are Gayus (who deals with bad luck with tact) and the beautiful but cruel sword-wielder Gigina. These two bounty hunters are caught up in a battle with dragons in the city of Eridana and in the intrigue of great nations.

>Shogakukan describes the story as the "ultimate work that founded the dark light novel genre that changed the concept of light novels."

Sounds like an interesting concept. Is the novel translated somewhere?

>Gigina - Yoshimasa Hosoya

Back already? I was already considering this show for my watchlist anyway.

>Is the novel translated somewhere?

It doesn't seem to have any translation.

Okay, but what's the studio

...

They should give more information at Gagaga Bunko's anniversary event on September 23.

>work that founded the dark light novel genre
My fucking sides. Also these art style looks like the tokyo ghoul guy.

>dark light novel
bruh

Might be fun.

I looked up the genre, and it turns out it's not a self proclaimed thing, readers of the genre do recognize the series as the founder.

Not saying about it trying to proclaim or not, just that these "dark" LN I've been seeing/checking out are 3edgy5me tier.

>Gigina
>99% of relationships are variations of 敵
>the rest of 1% are variations of 'die already'

Seems to be lacking girl characters as well

Megane looks connected to mostly girls. Sliver hair has a more unisex harem of friends and foes.

Megane has a pregnant ex-wife, an ex-girlfriend and a dead younger sister.

>pregnant ex-wife
>an ex-girlfriend

Pregnant with his kid?

Yeah, his. I was curious about this too and looked for some stuff and I saw people surprised the chart said she is his ex-wife. She also has an ex-boyfriend apparently. Don't ask me details though, I'm only reading things from the wiki.

>character actually had sex

unironically looks like edgy fujoshit garbage
the summary even sounds needlessly complicated for a fantasy series

Apparently it's really fucked up lol. To the point it caused the depression of some Koreans who was translating it and they had to take a month of rest...

What? Did their waifu die?

Nah, they were terrified by the behaviour of one of the characters. Someone described Tokyo Ghoul as being happy rainbows in comparison to this, it sounds really fucked up in general.

Alright, at least the characters seem older and aren't high school age virgins. Grimdark can be decent if handled well otherwise it's a cheese fest.
