"Science guy"

How did we go from Niels Bohr, Enrico Fermi, Albert Einstein, Wernher von Braun, Max Planck, to modern day clowns like the one pictured or the "science guy"?

It hasn't even been that long, the drop has happened so quickly

Not so sure about Einstein.
But yes, there nothing "science" about putting space junk in space as a publicity stunt.
It's not a science experiment. No hypothesis is being tested. It's pure "GeeWiz" for the morons.
Yes. They are finding shills, call them "scientist" and use them to propagandize the public.

modernity vs. post-modernity

Imagine if you built a society where you ignored literally everything about what makes humans happy, fulfilled, form communities, want to do anything, etc. except for the desire to make more money. Now imagine that you let that civilization develop for 200 years.

>not sure about Einstein
>there is nothing "science" about a super heavy launch vehicle that can land its boosters upright

It was a fucking test flight.
There is also no scientific value in putting a beeping ball with antennae in an orbit.
Yet Sputnik was a scientific breakthrough.
The value is not in what it does, but in what it makes possible.

Coming up with your own theories, experiments, inventions, and accomplishments is hard. Its way easier to simply shot-gun criticism of other peoples work. Le black science man is just building a career by throwing mud and hoping something will stick.

Engineering isn't science, mate.

> science
> pundit

1) It's not super heavy.
2) landing technology was done as part of landing on the moon - almost 40 years ago.

Black science guy is no more scientist than a person putting someone on hold on a company phone system is a musician.

Einstein was a huge fraud.
Everything credited to his name was taken from other people.

>There is also no scientific value in putting a beeping ball with antennae in an orbit.
You can check the orbital entry by locating the radio by triangulation, user. There was a damned good reason for the radio.

Because these guys are "science communicators", not scientists. Todays scientists are other people (like Higgs for example)

>Everything credited to his name was taken from other people.
Not everything.
All his wrong stuff was his own; The EPR "paradox" failure was his own, his damnation of both Quantum Mechanics and the Big Bang was his own. Fucking his daughter was his own.
He did do the photo-electric effect, but it was a plug and chug from the Planck Quantum theory.

Sure there was a reason for it - but still no intrinsic scientific value.
But later satellites that were made possible by that initial event created a lot of scientific value.

affirmative action and massification of academia

So he was a fraud and a dumb ass...

Never heard about the daughter fucking...I know he fucked his first cousin...

>No scientific value in tracking the orbit of the satellite.

Nigger did you see those rockets land back down side by side? It will be saving tons of money and shiet

Is Sup Forums all fucked up for anyone else?

Working fine for me m9

Why do capitalists keep asking the same question but not accepting the obvious answer?

It's capitalism. It was always capitalism. Capitalism doesn't inspire anyone to do anything great or quality work. It inspires the greedy to do the bare minimum amount of work required to achieve maximum profit.

It's an engineering achievement more so then a scientific one. The biggest achievement was re-landing the boosters, actually.

It did give Musk a way to get rid of a dead hooker's body, though.

the last descend TV science guy was Carl Sagan, he would not be on TV any more these days, as he would not play along as a narrative shill...
Sagans children are, and his ex wife Lynn Margulis was outspoken out about 9/11

He married his first cousin - 2nd wife.
He gave his daughter by his first wife (she was illegitimate from before they were married) to his wife's parents. They were re-united with his daughter when she was an adult and he hired her as his housekeeper.
I forget the name of the book where I read this.

>There more bikes in my backyard then there are stars in the universe.

Neil Degrasse Tyson, 2018

>landing on the moon

Yeah I just tried another site and was getting the same screwy shit. Restarting my browser fixed whatever it was.
sry
Yes and commies inspire what exactly...
(Other than "muh revolution")

Yes. Kewl.
1) Again, 40 year old technology.
2) Rockets are not cars, Op. You're making assumptions about economics that you can't back up with data.

The nigger is just entertainment, the media is so dumbed down these days they don't report real science.

That was the tightest shit since the first space shuttle landing.

If you are looking for the "system" to inspire you...you're looking in the wrong place kiddo...look inward faggot

True, The last 50 years in the US has been a real dark age for technology.

>do the bare minimum amount of work required to achieve maximum profit.
It's called efficiency dumbass, and it's capitalism's greatest strength.

No one said what Musk did last week is ground breaking science. It's a great engineering feat though and proof of concept. Key word: engineering.

The experiment was to see if the rocket blew up or not and if it didn't how much can you bring back.

The hypothesis being tested was validation of the computer engineering behind the vehicle in the real world.

You are a disinfo shill but I like how you included one truth in your shit post

>they find meme scientists and use them to propagandize the public

Absolutely true.

It started with the pro-Semitic movement behind WWII propping up Einstein as a celebrity. He's responsible for literally 1% of relativity. Just read through any text on SR or GR, and you'll see that most of the names used are clearly not his.

He almost sounds like a Jew.

Are you retarded?
If Sputnik test proved successful it opened up a whole new frontier for Military espionage.

We landed on the moon almost half a century ago. Landing a rocket isn't even new. Your big achievement is that Musk did something with computers and modern materials that Von Braun did 48 years ago with ancient materials and slide rules. Big whoop!

>it's capitalism's greatest strength
Then why do threads like this exist? Must be jews or the gays or something. Maybe it's the interdimensional lizard people and we need to just stop eating soy (and buy more of Alex Jones' snake oil) to fight them.

Black science man isn't supposed to be replacing those scientists. He's supposed to be replacing Carl Sagan as a science advocate. A public face of astronomy and space science to explain to normies cutting edge stuff and promote science education. Which, if anything, is even more sad. We have plenty of hard working scientists today, more than at any other time in history. We just don't know they're names yet.
Tyson, on the other hand, is a hack who hasn't even written a primary source worth talking about and whose contributions outside being on TV are what Sagan did in his off time between being in the Voyager team.

Sagan was apolitical and managed to convey the beauty, mystery and excitement of science in a way that resonated with people. Tyson goes on late night TV and injects his politics into science at every opportunity. I hate him. Sagan is rolling in his grave.

he isnt the real black science man. the real one had a different complexion. god damned body snatcher faggots from other dimensions ruining my vacation

im filing a complaint

Flying a dummy in a meme car around the Earth is hardly "space frontier" you troglodyte.

Or just don't drink soy or buy snake oil from the media, politicians, your feminist girlfriend...life is 1000000x better user

He was also high af most of the time on marijauna, which made him come across as a nice and sincerely mellow personality, which America moved away from valuing in the 1980s.

Solid motors and LH2/LOX engines produce such good looking plumes, RP1/LOX engines are a letdown in that regard.

Do we have any examples of what the CH4/LOX Raptor engine plume will look like?

Versus GREAT COMMUNIST SOVIET UNION, where everyone pretended to work while the government pretended to pay them.

Where's all that great communist technology? OH WAIT A SECOND, you're gonna tell us how REAL communism has never been tried, right? How your perfect socialist utopia, if ever attained, will send us to the stars like Captain Picard and his multiculti crew.

I wish I could be smart like you.

I dont get this pessimism towards Space X. Do you see any negatives to spacex existing? Do you see no net benefit to these ventures for humankind?

>Hating on the M U S C C

The point is that it has increased load and decreased price you fucking retard. Spacex can now do on one mission for less money than we used to pay the russians, if you don't see the significance you need your eyes checked.

Marxists pissed off the CIS white male company is doing more than the diversity hires at NASA

The car itself is a stunt. It could have been any payload. The science part was getting a launch platform that could lift something that heavy out of orbit and come back. Plus the car was supposed to make it to mars, which, if it worked, would have been very impressive. Launching a dumb payload from Earth and getting it to mars with no course correction would have been amazing. But I guess they missed.

It'$ easy, Einstein, - affirmative action

Didn't he rape a bunch of chicks like Cosby did?

Einstein was a kike and stole all his "reasearch" from others without using footnotes.

You cut all the research money and people with physics degrees don't do experiments.

Source: went to elite school. All physics buddies work for wallstreet. USA exports all research to Israel. We trade production capacity for their blueprints as a condition of our "aid".... Israel castrated goyim research and has convinced all of you that anybody in America with a physics degree is a loser.

Dipshits.

Are you retarded?
Honest question here. I think you might be if you think that landing on the low gravity of the moon, and landing back on Earth, upright and reusable, is the same thing.

This. Space has been a military sphere since man was able to reach it. The US owes Russia a huge thank you for giving us a much needed kick in the ass to put some serious work into the aerospace field, which resulted in an immense amount of tech development that benefits almost everyone today. One could make the argument that Sputnik was the more important spaceflight achievement than the manned lunar landings.

The shuttle was such an inefficient design holy fucking shit. This is why space NEEDS to be privately developed because if you don't you end up with stupid designs like the shuttle.

Please kill yourself.

He is not wrong, Space X gets a shit ton of taxpayer money

Let me guess. You caim to this conclusion after watching TV.

ISRAEL. they are the problem.

Because the people doing real science aren't famous

The dean of my physics department was part of the team that first detected gravitational waves at LIGO

That's true.
The government needs to send a lot of stuff into space, so it has to hire many launch vehicles.

kek
We all need that timeline, user.

Engineering is applied science. Making stupid statements underscores why nobody takes your third world shithole nation seriously. You beaners get back to mowing my lawn and leave the things that require thinking to whites and asians.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Applied_science

The media picks the "popularizers" and the media keeps losing IQ.

youtube.com/watch?v=e7kqFt3nID4
Is this what you are looking for?

It isn't science. Its applied science just like medicine.

Short version - as science has moved from "classical" to "modern" physics, topics have become more and more complex to learn, master, and expand. The days where anyone with a passing knowledge of calculus and basic engineering or medical skills could make a major, Nobel Prize-worthy breakthrough are gone and research and development have transitioned to a system in which the majority of professionals become highly specialized in a very niche area and work with others in that discipline to expand their field.

Research still gets done, but you *rarely* see the kind of multi-field prodigies that people rallied around in previous decades, simply because the amount of expertise and intelligence necessary to be an expert in even one field today is orders of magnitude greater than what it was 50, 100, 200 years ago. The people who are making the biggest contributions in their fields are generally people who no one outside of their discipline have ever heard of. Dr Padma Shukla *literally* wrote the books on nonlinear and complex cold plasma dynamics, and prior to his death he was the most respected and prominent researcher in that area... and I fucking guarantee I'm the only person here who's ever heard of him - because the topics related to that work are so complicated and niche that nobody outside of that field has any reason to.

400-500 years ago any determined man with the ambition and capital to fund an expedition could chart his way across unexplored territories, fill in the blanks on the map and stake a claim. Today there are very few truly unexplored areas left on the map, and it takes more effort, skill, and determination to find the handful of blank spots left on the map. So to, it is, with science.

Really? Do you mean that like we haven't developed anything new, or more like we could and should have developed more technologically?

Most anti-science and anti-engineering people are just pissy because they arent capable of understanding it.

We will spend 1.75 trillion developing a new fighter jet to bomb isreal's enemies 3.5% more efficiently than the fighter jet we had in the 80's, but you spend 120 million to test a new rocket heavy-lifter that will be capable of taking us out of low orbit for the first time since the 70's and suddenly all you hear is wringing hands and "OY VEY! SO EXPENSIVE? AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE? YOU GOYIM NEED TO GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AND FOCUS ON FUNDING ANOTHER 300,000 MAN TROOP SURGE INTO SYRIA!"

You could argue that almost everything Musk has done since his Internet days has been subsidized one way or another by the American taxpayers. Musk has two strengths: sheer willpower and an uncanny ability to encourage and convince the US government to outsource strategic operations such as spaceflight to the private sector.

Orbital mechanics were known since Kepler.

You do realize that the space car was faked, right?

The majority of discoveries went from the benchtop to needing very large networks and systems.

Sputnik itself was no spy satellite.
But it made possible everything that came after.

> exactly what I wrote

Who's the retarded one?

This is so true. There are a lot of what we used to call "geniuses" (in the Einstein sense) doing amazing and innovative work without any public acclaim in almost every scientific and engineering field. Two of my undergraduate science professors now have Nobel Prizes, but they were (and still are) not household names.

Is that the moon in the background? I’m talking about the dot, not earth.

Byrd the explorer unfortunately died a long long time ago. He gave us the truth and clues and that was the last time, then they shut him down.

Same thing with N Tesla. The shut and hid his inventions and stole his body of work as soon as he died and even before. DC power

And the fraud Edison literally in our back door, stole patents and squashed real science and tech for his personal gain.

Musk really is "That Guy" who opened up interplanetary space to humanity in science fiction. The FH test just helped move some science fiction into the realm of science fact. Yes, he's building upon the shoulders of others, but he appears to be capable of applying engineering to an objective previously considered only within the capabilities of a nation-state, and making that application both cheaper and more accessible.

You actually believe that shit? Oh my...,

namely black people of colors

Le Black Science man is a fraud and a meme

Black~Science

Jumbo~Shrimp

Do you think Elon Musk is a modern Tesla, another Edison, a combination of those men, or a different type of innovator altogether (that is, someone like a Ford who brought automobiles to the masses but had nothing to do with inventing internal combustion)?

Nailed most of it!

They do have public subsidies out of the wazoo tho.

Exactly!

Tesla is the most overrated researcher in modern history - his genuine accomplishments were few, with most of his modern fame and popularity being for shit people have *claimed* he did that either someone else did first or he never did at all.

Edison was a dick, but he was an industrious dick who pioneered the modern patronage research model employed by every major research facility from Bell Labs to GERL

Musk is a NASA Mouthpiece and a imposter and fraud with a cute accent. All CGI bullshit. Look at the control room pics of the gamers they call scientists. Those cucks never owned a toolset in their life!

>the media is so dumbed down these days they don't report real science
It's easy to blame the media for being the problem, but let's be fucking frank for a second - who among you is going to genuinely sit down and watch a 15-20 short minute short report on the news about advances in attosecond laser diagnostics or calibration of impedance probes for the measurement of plasma sheath parameters.

Be honest.
