Rurouni Kenshin

>Kaoru fucking dies
>Finally a chance for Himura to undergo some real character growth
>Wait lmao nevermind she was just kidnapped and you thought it was her
What the fuck?
Why ruin such an excellent character moment with that bullshit?

I do agree that she was supposed to die, but I swear, I have no Idea how they would continue from that point on-ward. There's no reason for him to live if Kaoru was killed because of him.

Because Tomoe died, if Kaoru dies too it would be repetitive

It's not that they she should have died, she absolutely shouldn't have.

They shouldn't have done the bullshit fake death in the first place.

I finished it a long time ago and don't remember it exactly but why did the villian fake her death anyway?
If he hate Kenshin so much then he just needs to kill Kaoru for real, or if he wanted Kenshin to come to rescue her and saw his despair when he lost then why was that corpse so fucking real that everyone didn't notice and almost accept her death?

He pussied out, resulting in a very forgettable second half for the arc.

Her dying pissed me off
It just being a ruse also pissed me off

why did they even have that shitty part?

read the subtitle of the series name

He doesn't have the guts to do it. Kaoru reminds him too much of Tomoe to the point where he starts puking the moment he tries to kill her for real

If you read the authors comments it's really clear he was burned out in the last arc and pretty much just doing whatever he wanted. That's why we got stuff like not!Venom in the final arc.

I have and read the tank a long time ago and there's the bit of author commentary (stuff like one piece's SBS corner)
the reasoning was pretty simple
1. it's a shonen
2. so watsuki basically said that a shonen romantic story should have a happy end.

woops, meant to quote

Hiko needs his own series instead of his stupid bata student

it's about pots.

>>Finally a chance for Himura to undergo some real character growth

I wish authors weren't afraid of change. It'd be great if he'd became a edgelord drunkard for a few years.

Damn, that artwork is beautiful.

Tomoe already died. He didn't need to lose the person he loved again.

We need more suffering.

It's literally called Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story , for fucks sake. Let the man have a happy ending for once.

How's the manga sequel been doing lately?

Do the fans like it or not?

>There's no reason for him to live if Kaoru was killed because of him.
his reason to live is to save people, which is pretty apparent during that scene when tsubame beg him to help yahiko when he was fighting that bazooka arm guy.
losing kaoru would just mean that he lost his home, so he will probably ended up being a wanderer again.

He already had his development when Tomoe died
It's what turned him into a Rurouni
Kaoru's death was just shock value and too cruel for Kenshin to endure, for the sake of some edgy kid who knew nothing about his sister

>It'd be great if he'd became a edgelord drunkard for a few years

shitty writing. You would want that for an ending?
The shallow tragic ending with no catharsis, just suffering for no damn reason?
Stick to fucking Tokyo Ghoul if you want self pity tragedy porn.

How is that chain supposed to stop him from drawing his blade? You would literally be able to pull the blade right out of the scabbard with no trouble. Only difference is that you'd have a mess of chain hanging from your handle.

wait, this series is still on?
