Brazil might be a mess, but it's still the country with most resources in South America.
But since it's Venezuela, we will help then and gain nothing in return (who cares about oil anymore?). If it was Peru or Colombia (for example), we would have a close bond with the new country (or it would just pretty much become a brazilian state) and we would effectively gain something out of it: a harbor in the pacific ocean.

His base of support has shrunk to such a tiny amount it's probably not an exaggeration to say less than 5% of the country supports him and his government.
However, the truth of the matter is that the ones who do support him are the military and the high ranking government officials. Chavez spent his entire time in office slowly chipping away at the democratic institutions and now Maduro has been allowed to reap the benefits of such a system where even though nobody wants him there it is impossible to dislodge him. He can freely ignore the constitution and treat the country like his play thing. It's a dictatorship in all but name and even that is slowly coming to change.
That's why I don't pretend to hope for a peaceful resolution, the only way this could end peacefully is if we let him live out the rest of his natural life-span and hope his successor is less of a tyrant, but that would be a hard thirty to fifty years to suffer. So I'm forced to pray that Trump will wake up on the wrong side of the bed and send the troops or somebody else will make the choice to dethrone him through violence.

Idk, I live in São Paulo, the richest city in the southern hemisphere. People around here are very friendly, only a total loser wouldn't be able to make friends or get a gf. São Paulo is relatively safe, if you don't go to the poor areas and just avoid dark-skinned people in general. Lots of fun, theaters, malls, whorehouses and nightclubs.
