Anyone here used to be in GATE? I was from 2nd-8th grade as they did not have the program in my high-school.

I remember a some things that seemed odd about the program. I will write what I can remember that was different from my other classes here, I don't know if they are common or uncommon to the program. It just seems like some shady shit to me.

IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:
>In a sectioned-off wing of the school
>Teachers seemed like they fucking despised the class
>Remember the blinds being shut often
>Read books about odd topics like deep-sea monsters, and the secret development of the atom bomb in 1945.
>Brief lessons on Russian, Vietnamese, and another language I don't remember

IN MIDDLE SCHOOL:
>In a basement
>We played with puzzles, but had to log our activity
>Again, windows were closed and blinds shut often.
>Taught more odd things, like Anorexia, Depression, Bulimia, and other disorders
>Teacher was a frail old woman, had a bitter disdain for the class (Or at least me)
>Did projects on WW2 war machines

Let me tell you where my classmates are now

RF: Used to be a normal girl, and a good friend of mine. Now a rabid SJW queer cat-kin socialist. Told me to kms because I was not PC enough.
JN: Full-ride to Stanford. Anarcho-Communist. Head of the Political Action club back in HS
AM: Feminist, Hillary supporter. Cheerleader in Highschool
ZH: Dated a roastie in HS for a bit, then just vanished. I assume he moved.
JW: Moved after Freshman year in HS
Me: I shitpost on Sup Forums, have shit grades, and generally am not liked.

Doesn't this seem a little off or am I just over-analyzing things?

GATE threads. This topic is unsettling to me, but fascinating.

Checked

I was recommended for it multiple times but opted out by myself and parents because fuck being lumped in with nerds.

It's just as much of a meme as honors programs in college.

I was in that program as well, for a very brief time. I hated school from day one. GATE didn't change that for me at all. From a young age I was in and out of foster care so I never really completed a year in the same school. I always knew it was brainwashing and would tell others about it. Stopped even trying to pass classes by the time I was in junior high. Dropped out of high school in 10th grade, tried college later on but quit after I completed my core degree classes and realized all the gen ed was Marxist bullshit. Even the math was group oriented. I really think GATE was a system used to isolate the highly intelligent and determine whether they could be good drones or not.

you a californian?
i was one of only 4 kids to score above a certain threshold in a certain california metropolitan area, was in GATE from grade 4 until i dropped out of everything in jr. high, barely graduated high school (third from bottom of class).

I dont remember much, just that I used to have to take a short bus to the class. Also the blinds were closed.

I am in a certain area in Cali and have a very similar experience.

There was a list of all the things we have in common.

There was only one check I couldn’t mark off which was the Jewish art student girlfriend.

I just found out today my old art student gf was a Jew

In my school it was pretty nice. We got to do fun projects. Mostly learning about science and engineering. Very fun projects though. Like shooting some water pressure rockets made of soda bottles and making little bridges out of popsicle sticks and seeking how much heavy shit we could stack on it before they collapse.

i used to be in it and dont remember much but now my cousin is in it, he’s in sixth grade now. he says that they make his class watch cnn news currents every day specifically designed for students, the class is completely full of pajeets and chinese insects as well as the token diversity nigger and mexican. there are 6 white kids in his class even though our town is like 70% white. also, literally every kid is being brainwashed by the teacher who openly advocates trannies and muh diversity and how evil nazis are and whenever trump comes on their cnn news the kids all yell at the projector thing and the teacher doesnt do shit

idk I don't remember much from 1st-9th grade

If someone has this list I would be very interested in seeing it.

All i remember was we used plaster of paris to simulate geologic stratification. I bailed out because I wanted to hang out with my cool friends and get away from the boring nerds.

Was 100% white but this was in the 90s.

I told you in the last thread, you're not special. There may be something interesting, and maybe even conspiratorial, to discuss, but if you keep talking about from the perspective of self-identification, then you'll just be holding yourself back. Even if you understand what the program was and what it means to be """"gifted"""" you won't find good discussion here. It's not the place for it, even if it is.

Life: The Post

And what if they couldn't?

Missouri, born and raised.

Hah! Joke's on you! I never...had...a.. *ahem*

But what does it mean to be """gifted""" then? You seem like you have something to say on it.

>Even if you understand what the program was and what it means to be """"gifted"""" you won't find good discussion here. It's not the place for it, even if it is.
god i hate cryptic bullshit, just say what you mean

for me, im glad to hear that other GATErs are failures, furthers my theory that intelligence correlates with neurosis/sociopathy

Was in there 2-5th (wasn't available after 5th). All we did was learn Algebra and Chemistry. And the blinds were closed.... Spooky.

I was in gate from 3rd to 5th. They taught us algebra, simple machines and physics, computers, building with robots with Legos, reading and writing.

No weird stuff at all. Ama

More likely, it's associated with psychopathy. The best killers are considered to be doctors...

That part I am not sure of but I do know that CPS became a huge part of my life after GATE. Whether they are related or not I can never be sure because there was legitimate reason for CPS to get involved in my life. One strange thing though, is that when our home got raided and my mom was arrested, she was very adamant that the cops planted the evidence. I vividly recall a cop coming out of her room with a vile of blue liquid and all of our eyes began burning.

I was in gate as well, bump for interest or if anyone has any questions

There was a similar program here in Japan. The translation is Special Program for Exceptionally Gifted Students. I remember it was strange. Once again we were taken to a special school with no windows. It was an old high school that they had shut down. The building was almost all empty but they had retrofitted most unusual equipment. There was much testing. There was much teaching of politics. One of the teachers was an American, but he didn't teach English, and spoke accented Japanese. He mostly just stood at the back of the room and observed the lessons. I remember the Red Room. Of my friends from the program two are now hikikomori, one is a Communist, another committed suicide, and the final one has to take strange pills. I do not know if this is related.

This is possible I guess. I have no urge to kill people though. Could that be who (((they))) are looking for? People with high intelligence as well as psychopathic tendencies that can be groomed for specific purposes?

I remember it just seemed like complete and utter bullshit. There was a girl in there who was totally average (I saw all the entrance test scores) but her dad was on the school board. We talked about ways to market olestra and devise bike share programs. They made us go to the holocaust center, my mom demanded I not be taken and she threatened to sue.

Never offered at my school. Took honors/Pre-AP/AP classes though. I have struggled with anorexia and bulimia off and on for years though and it seems like a lot of the girls I've met at different treatment centers mention having been in G&T in elementary as a childhood stressor

I watched a video from a guy that used to be in the church of satan ( that (((de la vey)))) larp ) and he said the church and other instituitions like the temple of set are recruitment interfaces for people with these traits. give me a moment and I will find it

Maybe find out if the schools you attended were a part of the "Waldorf" schools. Actually, those in this thread should all find out if that is the case of their schools. I know mine was.

I think I know what you are talking about and it makes sense if you look into "Waldorf Schools".

Yeah, GATE isn't a priority. Taxpayer betamonkeys are a priority.

gate is a program to track gifted people, try and find out if there's a method of applying their methods to niggers, then trying to suppress the achievements of the smart people

I did education policy for a decade. ask me anything

My experience:
>eat lunch every other day with other smart kids
>they were all valedictorian sounding fags
>do puzzles sometimes
>talk about deep shit
>be me, autistic as fuck skinhead neo-nazi looking motherfucker
>"do you ever wonder all the stuff that the government hides from us? my grandfather said that nazi germany was a beautiful country when he visited in 1937 but all we see in our history books are the death camps and the allied perspective"
>"Haha user, you're sounding like one of those conspiracy theorists. Look at all the whistleblowers in the government, there's no way they could hide anything huge. Besides remember when we read Night? The Nazis were horrible! They murdered all those Jews."

My school was a public school. It was a super wealthy district in a not so wealthy area, supposedly due to some tax deal. One time, they showed the whole school some weird movie where a girl lost her horse and died looking for him. No plot, she just falls out of a tree. Then we had answer questions about it or some shit, I just remember it seemed retarded. I think it was a trauma test of some sort.

Mark Passio - De-Mystifying The Occult - Part 2 of 3
hooktube.com/watch?v=8HiYN2LXvpI

The guy is pretty based on a lot of stuff. Just not the JQ and nazism and other things.
\in case you are interested i warn that It's pretty long. 2:30 hours

Explain. I am intrigued.

What do you mean "Methods"?
Who ((())) is behind this?
Why niggers?
Why suppress the smart kids?

Oh yes. I have seen that and have consumed a lot of Mark Passio's work.

I was in the gifted program. Most of us turned out to be bums. Highly intelligent but idk what went wrong. While high school low IQ QB became an engineer.

Still got to hang out with my friends. Gate programs got us out of the reading assignments and shit like that since we all were reading at above grade level.

>be me, non-GATE kid
>sitting out during gym class playing cards with bros
>overhear one of the GATE teachers talking about well known jew kid named ben
>first teacher "you know that he only acts up because of his ADHD"
>second teacher "that makes him perfect for GATE"
It was widely accepted in my school that GATE was used for kids who frequently finished their work "too early" and caused disruptions by wanting something to do after completing it. My other anecdotal proof for this is that many of the GATE kids were my friends and would often ask "hey aren't you in GATE user?" because they figured I was bright and was probably in the program too. I was a procrastinator unlike them and my parents didn't even know about GATE testing so teachers never assumed anything special about me.

How true is the notion that GATE was used to keep bright but disruptive kids busy?

I was. now ancap and 18 still in hs tho

You got my attention. Any more details on the movie, when it might have been made?

>I was a procrastinator unlike them and my parents didn't even know about GATE testing so teachers never assumed anything special about me.
no, you arent, the testing was standardized and given to all students, i believe it was called ITBS or something similar. You could be recommended by teachers but more than often it was because you scored well in standardized testing (>93rd percentile).

Sorry m8, you just werent gifted.

This theory could be possible, however I was a huge procrastinator as well, to the point that I never did ANY of the homework and rarely would participate when it came to class assignments. I was tested on a few subjects, put into GATE, then still could not find interest in any of the stuff they were teaching. I would sleep in every class because it was so mind numbing having to do repetitive shit when I already knew the material.

For better or for worse I'm just gonna let loose here. You want to know how to explain "giftedness" to people who aren't? Just described yourself as a self-aware autist. It's miserable at times. You know you are different and you know you are reacting different, but you can't change it. Here's the gifted experience in a nutshell
>show early signs of intelligence and an eagerness to learn while failing at common physical tasks
Perhaps you were the kid who started reading dr. seuss before you were 3 but couldn't tie your shoes until you were 6.
>In elementary you excel in what you do, but at times get sidetracked by curiosity
Remember the time you didn't do your classwork because you spent more time reading the textbook about your favorite animal? Don't even get me started on space.
>Around middle school is when the existentialism hits and burnout begins
The kids can see right through the school system and it hits them the 90% of what they are doing is busywork. Some of them can carry through this but most will get too caught up in this and struggle. Some of them will never make it past this stage and will spend their whole lives playing catch-up while those that do are scarred by it.

The literature stops there. There are hundreds of articles, research papers, you name it, on gifted children, but hardly anything for teens. For adults it's even worse. The reason is because they don't amount to anything. They know exactly what they want and what their priorities are and that's a horrible thing to know early on. I've never met one that had dreams of grandeur or prosperity. Most of them, us, just want to keep to ourselves and do what we enjoy. This is why most of us do horrible in school. We spend time learning instead of doing schoolwork. It's fucking awful.

t. gifted and became slightly obsessed with the concept in my early 20s

I was in Gifted and Talented program. Classes happened in the basement of schools, which had a computer lab and a library. I was the only one in my grade who was in the GAT Math and Logic group. The started me in Kindergarten and mostly we did logic puzzles and assessments, and with each assessment they graduated me to a new course. It was pretty fun, and I learned HTML and Java and trigonometry and some basic calculus all before I left sixth grade. They had me teach algebra to 5th graders when I was in 2nd grade, kind of a "see, it's not that hard, this little kid can do it!" thing. It was awkward and mostly all it got me was empty stares and alienation.

The GAT Language group was much more fun. I was with a few pretty girls and I loved talking to them and impressing them with my knowledge (which actually worked as one of them had a many years long crush on me that I never acted on because I never realized). As far as what we did in the language group, we did group reading on advanced topics and poetry, as well as playing games like zoombinis for some fucking reason (I'm not complaining I'm just not sure it really helped out our logic and reading skills better than something else might.)

What's a gate?
Sounds like some faggy education system for eurofags, probably Britain or australia or something.

are you talking about special-ed? i remember a bunch of kids who had to take time out of their schedule to go to some weird room where they got to work on HW and use their phones even though they were supposed to be reviewing materials. They were all pretty dumb too, like REALLY dumb.
ive never heard of gate though, sounds stupid and unnecessary, just like the majority of the education system

We had a similar program that I did for a couple years growing up.
>classes all on separate hallway
>spend about 1/4 of the day with each teacher in their classroom
>each teacher "specialized" in math/science/language/history
>classes were very project based, except math because you can't really do projects in math
>kids were all nerds pretty much
>got in a fistfight with the non-gifted kids who went to the normal classes, I don't recall exactly why but they were majority white and generally pretty cool.
>a bunch of the "gifted" kids called them muggles like in Harry Potter
fast forward to now
>atleast 75% of these kids voted for Shillary
>about half of them are uberlibtards that would probably get mugged by a darkie then defend the perp to the police
>a couple of them are pretty redpilled

by methods I mean
are there self study methods? are there certain open or strict curriculums that cause high performance? discipline? many gate programs had completely open self-guided study that provided mentors. some tried to get math savants to do better at language and vice versa

the entire point is to try to refute genetic theories of intelligence then apply the lesson to standard education

think of it like this: if intelligence is genetic there is nothing you can do but let people be free. if intelligence/discipline is NOT genetic, there is an incentive to find the most efficient method of indoctrinating people (the goal of gate)

before recently there had not been a federal program, but various kikes at various levels had been involved (((of course)))

common core is naturally ne of the products of the gate program in the mdoern federal education system

>niggers
because caucasian people don't need to be loyal to the government. they're self sufficient. the most loyal people are completely dependent and cant usurp their master

>smart kids
in federal bureaucracies (universal, this applies to east asia and europe) the stupid get promoted because they pose no threat to their immediate superior

the goal of end state bureaucracies in every country on the planet in all history has been the suppression of intelligent people

the chinese and japanese teach this in school, much like americans learn the constitution or separation of governmental branches

Not sure when it was made, but I graduated in 95 and they showed it when I was in 6th or 7th grade (the only years I went to that school). So 88-90?

100% true. there are other aims too, but this is the primary or co-primary aim

thnk of it like this: every other federal system in america is centrally commanded and does not permit variation (the origin of innovation and imrpovement)

the ONE program they permit to be variegated is the gifted education program. suppression of skilled individuals is the number one long term goal of any state bureaucracy

I was in gifted and talented in TExas

someone in a discord said being gifted meant you hada minimum 130 iq

I guess I'm a smort type nigga but nothing ever came of it.

Was in it during 8th grade, basically the nerdy kids were picked and would assemble into a room once a week we used to do mock debates.

We got an old man in the house everybody

Why are you trying to make me cry, user

Gate is just an excuse to isolate already autistic children so they grow up to be even more isolated than would have been with out it

Awkward kids go into gate
r9k tier and utterly broken kids exit gate.

did you do anything of note with all of this?

i love conspiracy theories and the theory they used these windowless classrooms to brainwash the plebian-elite into being worthless sure makes my conspiratorial side tingle

I know of only one other GATEr and she was an absolute tragedy: military, single mom, community college.

The only standardized testing I had during grade school was TAKS, however I don't think they would base admittance on that. I distinctly recall some of my peers mentioning that their parents "had the tested" which would imply that it was an optional test. I'm open to being wrong about this since I am basing my statements on memories from more than a decade ago. I can easily imagine not being gifted since all that mattered to my parents was not failing.

Kid reads Night. Kid believes it is accurate and to be taken literally. Kid confirmed to by neither gifted nor talented.

>IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:
For me they continuously tried to make us solve crimes involving murder and rape.

sorry m8 was basing on my own experience and locale, probably not applicable to yours. Apologies.

I am 19...

Dude..I was told by my parents that I read Dr Seuss books at 3, but clearly remembering not being able to tie my shoes until I was around seven...

I would get scolded for not doing my work and reading the textbook instead, especially about science (especially space) and history, my two passions. I always got bad grades in school, but I was always called smart by my friends and shit, even though I always felt like a retard.

What does this mean, user?

cutoff is just under 130. they tried to separate the students into deciles but that simply isnt possible most places

I was in GATE. I am a fucking loser as an adult though.

Murder yes, rape no.

This thread is pretty interesting
Here in brazil i got something similar but actually it was a psychologist treatment instituition for talented and gifted people.
I was IQ tested there and spend years consulting with a psychologist.
The psychologist was utterly incompetent at anything and it basically was a scheme to milk the money of concerned parents with good at math poor social skills aspies. And try to keep them there by sucking to their parents ego.

I'm old. They must do things a little different now.

cant comment on individual cases but the other user is correct

there is policy in place to punish people for self-study because it muddies the control groupings of the class environments

the goal of education policy is to suspend people that read in class but to avoid suspension for people starting fights

my office helped produce various pieces of legislation to these effects

keep the thread going for an hour or make another if this one dies

I need to go do something but I'll be back if you guys have anything to ask

I consider this to be one of the number one issues threatening our nation

It's scary man. I am so glad that there are so many other options than ((public school)) in my area these days. We have highly regarded private, Montessori, Church and charter schools around here.
No problems friend, I am just seeking the truth about this oddity of a federal program. Are you from Iowa? That was one of the first things I found after searching "ITBS".

just to comment, in america the monetisation of psychologists and turning being gifted into "a potential mental health problem" is the primary method that gives the programs the strength to push their agenda on a political level

e.g. "timmy got beat up by a nigger, let's put him on antidepressants so that medical funding /donations from psychs can fund projects to integrate more niggers into the community ad infinitum/ timmy isn't complaining, problem solved."

Welcome to being "gifted" anons. I'm still working this shit out and deciding whether it even means anything. Just don't get too detached from reality or your peers. Giftedness is more of a horizontal difference than a vertical one and always remind yourself of that or you'll end up as some smug fuck who's "Smart but lazy."
Also, read up on the emotional aspect of this all. We tend to get overwhelmed in unorthodox ways and are usually a bit too empathetic for our own good.

Up until HS I would always do my work early and often got very good marks on it, but if I got one question wrong then my teachers would say "Oh, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, user is rushing through his work! He isn't trying!" and I would get scolded.

I was punished for working ahead even in class. A few teachers ripped up my papers and gave me new ones, even when I got it all correct.

Why is this so similar to my actual personality...

>No problems friend, I am just seeking the truth about this oddity of a federal program. Are you from Iowa? That was one of the first things I found after searching "ITBS".
No, its called the Iowa test because that is where it was/is developed, but it was given nationwide when I was a kid. I remember the last series I took was called the "Stanford test" or something, I failed that one on purpose because it was almost summer and i was a kid i mean cmon give me a break.

That is very troubling. What did they have in mind for replacing the already ageing population of engineers? Many of whom are retired, no longer contributing, and are responsible for many of the foundations of today's technology.

Frankly, given the incompetence I've seen emerging from our schools already, I'm worried this upcoming generation may place some dangerously stupid people in charge of very technical positions (e.g. director of safety at a nuclear power plant, etc...).

Fuck, I forgot all about the "don't work ahead" line that teachers said non-stop. It's been years since I was in school. Such control freaks. What a way to hamper confidence, initiative, and common sense.

Lazy ass teachers were just making you do the work again, because they chouldn't be bothered to think of something else for you to do.

Gas the teacher's union, education wars now!

I think it's why we all end up here.

Jesus Christ. It might be the tiniest bit of comfort that I was never labeled as "gifted" by Uncle Sam but it sure scares me that so many of my "gifted" peers saw me as similar enough to them as to assume I was one of them, a GATE kid. It makes me wonder if I just fell through the cracks and should have been there after all or not.
It makes me wonder about my current gf and a good friend of mine who have both told me stories about being in the GATE program, are they this same kind of "gifted"?
Interesting. Maybe my school didn't administer it because we were just too poor. We had no IB classes, only a handful of AP classes and literally only one Computer Science Teacher in the whole school of >2000 students.

Here’s one I’d like to nominate for the list, if other anons concur
>you were NOT the smartest in your gate class, there was a student that always knew the answer and was the teacher’s favorite by far
If this is a hit for a significant amount of anons it would be very interesting to me. Odds are most won’t be the number one, but specifically with the teacher doting on the number one as an obvious favorite.

HOLY FUCK I JUST REMEMBERED!!!!!
Did anyone ever receive this book from a GATE teacher?

A.so, OPs GATE experience is different than any other thread we’ve had, only a few hits for me when I used to run the list

That would probably be JN or AM in the first post I made

Explain pls

This is similar to my situation as well

who used to be in /gauss/ here

there are several justifications they have for punishing high performers
1. rushing
2. "not a team player"
3. the shy kid creating a "disruptive" environment
4. the kid being "arrogant" or "insulting other kids"
5. not learning "critical thinking" skills
6. giving the fast performer additional tasks, that, if not completed, drag their grade through the dirt, then saying "he's not trying to his full potential." of course, there is an infinite amount of tasks to be given. it only stops once the kid accepts the discipline and the grade falls

there are others, of course. the goal of these disciplinary policies is to destroy self confidence and independence and create supremely confident niggers

if you talk to teachers as a parent they'll tell you these things in coded language. it is part of state accredited training in every state. the goal is undoubtedly to fuck up smart kids

they try to make it sound innocent. almnost no one intelligent goes into education. their average gre scores are UNDER the undergraduate graduation average, putting them at around 96 on a eschler intelligence test

as a result, almost no one understands the details of the curriculum being designed to fuck up intelligent kids. they're all to dumb.

That one spooked me, I always assumed she was Hispanic or a mutt but after reading that I recall her father looking very, very jewishn googled her last name, obscure kike name.
Also, she was dating someone when I met her who I cucked. He definitely had jew hair.

I was never the number one because I always refused to do the work but I always knew all the answers so I was always lectured about "applying myself".

But why fuck up smart kids? What is the reason for that?

No obvious favorite?
We’re either/both Jewish?

I was never socially or academically invested enough to keep track of others' academic success. Perhaps you find more similarities among the more pronounced spectrum people.

Don't even get me started about that "applying yourself" bullshit

replacing engineers is not the jbo of a bureaucrat. as far as they think about that, they imagine they can pay danegeld to chinese engineers, hence classified information keeps making it into the hands of the chinese communist party

Typically there is a longer more general list plus or minus five items and occasionally different wording.

Speaking of IQ tests: I always managed to get the proctor to give me the answers. I was told that, by doing this, they could not officially record my score.

One was Vietnamese, the other one seems Mediterranean. Neither have Jewish names. They were both girls if that is any type of lead.

oh my god this faggotry from last year again
kill yourself

Do you have this list?

I expect that, more important is was there a clear and obvious favorite or did your teacher seem fair to all the students?

Literally 1984 fucking kek.

She fucking despised me. Granted I was a bit more hyper than the others but fuck she treated me like I was some nigger raping all the girls and slaughtering all the boys in the class. She favoured the two girls and seemed to ignore everyone else.

But how do you actually get selected then? What's the "admission" based on? Sounds like it's heavy on parental direction, hence all the Asians in it. Or is there some IQ exam given to the kids?

My only exposure to this program is some cute Asian girl in 6th grade was in it but she seemed petty stupid. I stole her homework once and where it said "Assignment X for GATE" I changed it to GAYE in my 12 year old edge.
