Ok so basically i'm thinking of buying a Rolex. I am not a materialistic person or one for showing or flexing wealth but I feel this is a pretty solid investment as I can give it to my future son and probably grandson ect.
Or am I being a nigger? Or Jewed? I am quite conservative and practical in everything else I buy.
And just to let you know I can easily afford it without any determent to my other expenses and investments.
How much are you going to pay for it and where are you buying it? There is something like a $1,000 tax per watch here in the US. Which is why Active Duty personnel buy them while deployed.
Matthew White
ignore the retards in this thread. watches like rolex are very good investment, if you take care of it its impossible to lose worth it can only go up
Liam Peterson
user im a watchmaker. Dont Buy a rolex if you want to give it to your Children. Buy a patek phillipe
Logan Williams
If you want a status symbol, go ahead. If you just want a comfy watch, get a seiko
Liam Clark
A $500 jdm seiko is nicer than Rolex
Gavin Edwards
I like wearing my Rolex. I tend to wear a sweatshirt and sweatpants. It is comfy. If people want to look down their noses at me for doing so, fuck them. My watch is worth more than everything in their goddam closet.
Thomas Gonzalez
I'm buying it in Hong Kong so 0% taxation I don't have the funds to do so. I had a feeling Seiko would be the suggestion.
Austin Morgan
Go Seiko. This is what I wear.
Luis Jones
Do it. I was supposed to get one from my grandfather but then his cunt second wife changed the will literally a few hours before he died and took everything.
Hunter Roberts
don't buy a Rolex
buy from one of those smaller traditional Swiss watch makers that still do everything by hand, they are usually in the same price tier as Rolex but more prestigious
Christopher Cruz
I think the majority of people wouldnt have a clue what you wearing if it is a sub. Daydate or Datejust with gold, maybe. My dad wants to go Halfs with me so I'll have something to remember him by.
Luke Turner
Nice, user. Me like.
Hunter Garcia
that's a nice timepeice. Seiko are definitely great value for money.
David Brown
Any suggestions?
William Bailey
Sheeeeiiiit, sorry man
Ryan Hall
Fauxlexes are pretty easy to spot at a glance if you know what you are looking at. I wouldn’t bother. A Fauxlex just makes you look silly. Like Fauxcahontas.
Brayden Wood
this is my current watch
Nathan Adams
You’re a fag
Bentley Cooper
If you want a watch made by Rolex but with a lower sticker price, IIRC, a Tudor is a watch made by Rolex but it didn’t pass the tests to be labeled Rolex. They may only be available in Switzerland.
Carson Parker
Thats unfortunate. Which rolex exactly do you want to Buy? Are you aware that you should send it to rolex für service Every 3-5 Year? A Service at rolex costs up to 800€
Charles Ortiz
i'm sure alot of people would think this is more valuable then a sub.
Cooper Phillips
>If people want to look down their noses at me for doing so, fuck them. My watch is worth more than everything in their goddam closet.
That's the thing with Rolex: it's not worth more than everything in their goddamn closet. It just costs more. Just like diamonds, Rolex' watches are expensive because the parent company tightly controls supply. In bad years, they even buy back unsold watches from their retailers.
As for worth, there are much more interesting companies, e.g. Sinn Spezialuhren in Germany.
Eli Bennett
As far as fine watches go, Rolex are pleb tier Every normie faggot wants a Sub (second only to a Seamaster)
or possibly to a much lesser extent an explorer because of it's less look at me status.
Bentley Sanders
Rolex is basically nigger-tier bling-bling. Almost everyone knows them - people wear them to show their wealth.
Buy smaller brands in the same price range - look for companies manufacturing their own works, not buying standard works (ETA) and putting them into their housings.
Mason Kelly
Buy a Tudor Submariner instead. It's Rolex without the riffraff.
That said, they're great when you need a couple grand in a pinch. You can always sell a Submariner and get a gun/plane ticket/escort whatever anywhere in the world
Isaiah Murphy
If you were a watchmaker you'd know that Rolex are extremely well made. Pateks and Rolex are pretty much the only two watches that hold their value. A rolex isn't a bad shout at all.
Jack Bailey
I'm well aware of basically all the big name watch makers and their models I just have always liked the sub. So you uppity leaf cunt what constitutes taste in your book.
Chase Edwards
Check out Jaeger lecoultre. Dont Buy a Sinn it sucks
Brayden Collins
That is partially the reason of Purchase. Having a few grand on me if I get in a bind.
Carter Ortiz
Depends what you like, if you like a sports watch then really you can't do better than a Rolex. Especially in terms of it holding it's value should you fall on hard times. If you like dress watches like Pateks, then look at JLC and others.
Jackson Mitchell
Buy gold bullion or land if you want an investment. Not a retarded rich man's watch.
Mason Wilson
Yeah they have some nice watches.
Oliver Long
>quartz Lmao. If you talk to woman or girl, sure.
Adrian Barnes
Here in mexico the luxury go to brand for watches is nivada, is it any good?
Dylan Collins
I have various more substantial investments. I'm not buying it as in investment. I mean't something that will work long term and hold most of its value. And it's a bonus having something you can use if your in a bind.
Ayden Johnson
ITT:OP is not Based.
Buy whatever the fuck you want. Just make sure it'll go up in value over time, and take good care of it.
Reminder that pocket watches are manly as.
Cameron Taylor
Haha I'm guessing that is mostly who will be studying me anyways.
Austin Fisher
my uncle bought me a tag Heuer Monaco watch as as a birthday present, is this a nice watch? apparently it retails for $5k but I wouldn't know looking at it, I don't know shit about watches because I'm a poor fag
Luis Perez
Seiko master race. Replaced the bracelet with a leather strap.
