Why is this author so edgy?
I just read umibe no onnanoko and it was a little too much. Really had some unnecessary scenes
Why is this author so edgy?
because they write as therapy, to express their own dysfunctional life and diseased mind. Only people with similar hangups can get anything from this sort of work.
He could have accomplished all that without the shit eating scene
Why was punpun such a fag?
>really had some unnecessary scenes
Like the shit eating one? I thought it was pivotal to the plot.
> something makes me feel a bit uncomfortable
> it's shit
Really could have done without the shit eating scene
He wasn't more of a fag than your average person.
Is this manga's Gravity's Rainbow
It was literally shit user.
Because he understands that humanity is worthless.
The shit eating scene did nothing for me, just seemed kind of boring.
"I won't let you use me anymore" had me tearing my fucking eyes out though.
He fucked his Uncle's girlfriend, he is antithesis of faggotry.
Weren't they using each other?
At first he actually likes her and lets her use him, but at the end she falls in love with him and he stops putting up with her shit.
which manga was that?
Read the OP
The one with all the sex and depressing overtones and shitty people doing bad things to each other.
I was so fucking mad and sad at the same time.
It was a different time
someone please post the shit eating scene
Heartwrenching stuff.
What?
his uncle's girlfriend fucked him*
user, you can't post coprophagia on Sup Forums.
Nice.
Haven't read punpun yet put Solanin was about as grounded as you can get.
what chapter is it, then
I read Girl on the Shore and I don't remember this part
14, just after they get back together before he goes and tries to kill the bullies.
It's only on one page and it's not like they show him chewing it or anything like that.
Solanin is probably his most grounded work, even though the whole 'bf getting hit by a car' thing felt more than a little contrived.
Punpun goes off the rails in its final arc but isn't actually that bad before that. Like, it's got some horrible shit but it's mostly believable.
I only read Punpun and it was alright
>Why is this author so edgy?
Stop using that word newfag.
I swear to god the average soccer mom out there is less triggered than neo-Sup Forums when it comes to slightly mature themes.
Mai-chan's daily life was never edgy, it's just bland and too over the top to take seriously. Two angsty teenagers eating shit and being emo on the internet about deceased siblings is pretty edgy.
No. You're just mixing angsty with edgy. Stop destroying language.
Mai-chan is the epitome of edgy.
>Something I realized as I drew Punpun was that drawing cute girls might be what I’m good at, which is why I thought I’d focus my next series on that.
>Reality is tough, so read this manga about cute girls and feel better. I realized how important that is after watching K-On! (laugh) Girls having fun is cute, and cute is something that needs no explanation — that’s what’s so great about it. That’s all I need, I’ve decided.
Don't worry, he out-edged even himself.
this desu
i'm tired of anons misusing words like edgy, NTR, doujin, etc
I liked Solanin more than A girl on the shore
Did you retards even read it? It was edgy
>doujin is misused
I get the other two but how is doujin misused?
That is the one that is misused the most user, pretty much every retard calls one-off chapters published in actual magazines doujins as opposed to actual self-published works that it refers to.
doujins =/= hentai manga
Having negative emotions isn't edgy.
What the hell are you even talking about?
Have you ever read one single novel in your life?
You know people aren't one dimensional cartoon personalities feeling happy all the time?
Edgy would be something like dead baby jokes.
I've read a lot of dramatic novels. Not one had shit eating
Dead baby jokes isn't edgy. That's something people casually joke about in real life. The girl on the shore was edgy with the way it portrays relationships
What a wonderful world is pretty uplifting though. I don't think he's edgy, just raw.
>Dead baby jokes isn't edgy. That's something people casually joke about in real life.
Are you out of high school?
Maybe he went through some edgy episodes in his life? Why is it edgy something bad again?
It's bad because OP is a manic depressive and any time he is forced to experience complex emotions his whole world comes crashing down and brings him to the brink of suicide, or he's a sociopath who cannot relate to emotions and thus anything that portrays them is inferior.
Literally poop
>Calls author edgy
>really means that he didnt like one scene in one manga
Punpun didn't have anything I would classify as "edgy" in it. All of the things people could call edgy actually built character and wasn't just for shock value. Same for Nijigahara Holograph.
but they disliking things is fun xd
It's edgy in the way it portrays adolescent relationships. Edgy isn't inherently bad, but it's off and on with this author
Eating poop isn't edgy, it's just gross.
Well, yes, a lot of people went through an edgy adolescence. Kinda confused right now about what people want to meant when they say edgy in some derogatory sense.
>user didn't have his edgy phase yet
You sound like a prude. If you ever did normal shit like playing cards against humanity at a family party you'd know that people are into that kind of humor even if they don't admit to it.
Satan knows!
So I was talking to a normalfag all this time. See, I'm always right. Get out newfag.
>'bf getting hit by a car' thing felt more than a little contrived.
How? Shit like that happens. And the plot revolved about the grieving process and learning to move on.
It's literally 3 panels, fucking get over yourself.
i thought it was cum?
Normalfag is another term people misuse and don't understand, as you've just done
I mean there was certainly a fair amount of cum in the manga user, but I'm not sure how you could mistake the scene in question for anything but exactly what it was. There was a reason the main character was referred to as "Shit-Eater-kun" around here when it first came out.
There's literally a panel with a side view of her ass with a turd slowly being squeezed out into his wide open waiting mouth, after he tells her to "let it out" while eating her ass and goes "ahhhhhhhh...." She then makes a really embarassed, scrunched up shitting face in closeup.
Fucking speedreaders man.
>Explains why it isn't edgy
>n-normalfag
Talk about not having an argument. Fuck off, retard.
>edgy
The edgiest thing I can remember from Punpun was him getting stabbed in the eye. The main criticism I could give to Punpun is that many of the chapters were boring, namely the cult chapters.
Shimizu made up for it at least
He wasn't.
You want edgy? Read this shit
Is it wrong to relate to Punpun?
Inb4
>mangareader
...
Ichi isn't that edgy. You want real edge, you go to Bradherley's Coach.
>Edgy
Nah man, that was a circus
Nah, Zetman is actually edgy. I love edgy shit, it's hilarious, any recommendations? Preferably with good art.
I dropped this after a couple of volumes. Just couldn't take all the edge, cringe and ntr anymore.
Anyone rember said how is called that edgy manga with the puppets coming alive and eat everyone and then a pig fucks a girl and eats her head? I plan to read it.
i literally just bought the first book becacuse i remembered this thread today. I hope it's good
