Even in STEM most people don't need anything beyond tensor calculations, complex numbers, differential equations, derivatives and integrals. It's material that could be squeezed into one semester.

In Poland, at least in my college, I believe every STEM course has basics of statistics/combinatorics.

I took intro to statistics and we never had shit that easy. I had to study hard as fuck and got like an 80%.

It's not statistics 101, it's problem solving with creative math. Its an intro level core math class. What I don't get it is it's equivalents are biomathematics, statistics and Calculus. How are those at all equivalent to this 4th grade shit?

The problem is not about three ways but about combinations. For example 5*1 + 2*1 + 3*1 = 10.
Basically I don't see any other way than to just write down every possible combination, which is hardly math at all, and definitely not college-level.

You CANNOT solve this analytically Poland. The brainlets trying to use algebra are worse than the stripper. This a variant of the "coin change" problem, you have to iterate, especially as the numbers get big. You can build a very basic array and run code for it. It's an introductory problem for dynamic programming.

Basically you have "amount" increasing horizontally across the array and "coin denomination" down the array. For each element you are evaluating, if that element is bigger than a previously evaluated answer, you ask the program to subtract the coin denomination from the amount currently evaluated, and look at the remainder. That remainder is of course smaller than the amount currently evaluated so the answer is somewhere earlier in the array. Call it x.
Then you say how many ways can I use the new coin. Add to x and move to the next element in the array.

It sounds complex verbally but it's really clear if you watch a video.

1. all free throws same score (score=2; all 2 points, all 1 point)
2. order doesn't matter (tally up scores like she did)
3. order does matter (you would not do this by hand)

Really what the problem is, is everyone and their pet going to college. College was never meant to be a high school 2.0. It was meant for a place for people to get degrees in medicine and engineering and go on to professional careers.

Limit the amount of people that are actually allowed to go to college, based on their ability to pay tuition. Boom. College is fixed and college degrees actually become something more then a fancy piece of toilet paper with your name written on it.
