2. Astana agreement between Russia, Turkey and Iran in October lead to Turkey sending troops and envoys to Idlib?
3. Part of HTS supports Turkey's presence, but the rest do not, which led to internal fighting within HTS in Idlib?
4. The internal fighting within HTS is the reason we are seeing so many reported assassinations in Idlib?
5. SAA starts an offensive on Idlib despite the Astana talks agreeing on a diplomatic agreement?
6. SAA now gives up Idlib offensive to focus on ISIS pocket in the west of DeZ and green pocket near Homs?
Julian Turner
was thinking exactly the same, what would happend if ISIS make gains deep and deep in HTS/FSA territory?
Tyler Butler
xth for Assad rightfull king of Middle East.
Luke Jackson
>he said Israel will win
Nathaniel Ortiz
>Could it be used as an excuse for the SAA to perhaps push further into Idlib? At the moment, ISIS are activating all their sleeper cells in Idlib. I think SAA prefers to wait this one out and watch HTS/FSA/ISIS fuck themselves.
Colton Thompson
>was thinking exactly the same, what would happend if ISIS make gains deep and deep in HTS/FSA territory?
SAA will be deeply concerned for the situation in Idlib and will have to fight ISIS in order to pacify the situation. It's a shame that ISIS are taking more and more HTS "de-escalation" land, but what can you do? SAA has to protect peace.
There are only like 150 of them how far can they go?
Matthew Foster
Picking the ones I feel confident answering
>1. HTS is in control of Idlib province? Mostly, yes, theyre de facto the leading rebel group, though Ahrar al-Sham still maintains a significant presence too in some areas
>4. The internal fighting within HTS is the reason we are seeing so many reported assassinations in Idlib? I dont think so. Some think ISIS sleeper cells, others think Syrian intelligence
>5. SAA starts an offensive on Idlib despite the Astana talks agreeing on a diplomatic agreement? The offensives on Idlib were dying down already I think, maybe some areas that werent agreed upon in Astana were still seeing action. Some speculate Iran and Iran-backed groups dont like (some o) the agreements made, this probably has to do with Foua/Kefraya still being isolated
>6. SAA now gives up Idlib offensive to focus on ISIS pocket in the west of DeZ and green pocket near Homs? Seems like it
Carter Cook
>150 Last I saw, they had 450. And were supposedly going to get reinforcements from pro-ISIS locals in some towns.
Matthew Martinez
Captcha is being fucking retarded holy shit. >I think SAA prefers to wait this one out and watch HTS/FSA/ISIS fuck themselves. Considering how easy it is for HTS/FSA niggers to simply defect to ISIS, i would think that in the end ISIS will gain the upper hand. And what about the t*rks? Could they possibly do something with this situation? Or will they just sit and watch from afar?
Julian King
Jesus, isn't that gonna absolutely kill his shoulder?
Eli Richardson
Isis is not benefitting turks atm, specially there. So they will try to contain it, if they can.
Jace Gomez
Ebin take over the bakery. Im off. Good night.
Jeremiah Powell
>And what about the t*rks? Could they possibly do something with this situation? They'll probably send more FSA goons to get wasted in their purge. If they somehow make more gainz, they will probably have to use their own troops or just ask Russia for help
David Moore
ISIS gaining control in Idlib or HTS winning but adopting a more anti-T*rk position would be big problems for T*rkey. Granted, their end goal is to replace HTS with TFSA, but they'd need to solidify their control in Idlib if that is to happen. It's a clustefuck, but the first two scenarios would be great for SAA.
Liam Diaz

So, Erdog's plan to turn Idlib into meatshield pocket jihadist paradise is in danger? I mean, Russia could help defeat ISIS and prevent that, but are they really "allies" at this point or rather partners because of need? The following weeks will be very radical for Idlib tbqh.

They're also pitching for $1.4bil for 2019. Which means all they tell Turkey is just empty words, which is not a very good thing. But it's getting really ridiculous. Tillerson, McMaster and Trump promise to stop arming Kurds, and then Pentagon announces this. Who the fuck should people trust then?

Jack Mitchell
Is there one like this for an air defence unit?
Jason James
Of course but come the fuck on. On one hand you have SoS Tillerson and other mouthpieces telling people that they will address Turkey's concerns, that they will stop arming Kurds, that they will fight ISIS. On the other hand you have Pentagon pulling this bullshit. It's not looking very good. Someone will eventually ask them who decides foreign policy: POTUS and DoS or Pentagon? Where do you fucking even go form there?
Dominic Watson
>They're also pitching for $1.4bil for 2019. You want to know something really sad? Our govt signed off a budget that was going to lift our defense budget capping.
This is what our govt is wasting all of this money on, an inescapable black hole comparable to Iraq

Austin Phillips
It's gonna be Pentagon that decides foreign policy. I bet 32 barrel bombs on it. It's just one massive clusterfuck in the US gov't. You've got departments pushing two opposite agendas (as evidenced by Pentagon arming Kurds and POTUS/SoS stating otherwise), and the gov't can barely function because the Trump admin is fighting the Deep State.
Eli King
They are fine against an army without an airforce or anti aircraft capabilities.
