This show was so bad. Can someone please explain to me why anyone would like this?
I am a huge JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fan. And now I feel like I can't even look at Stardust Crusaders the same anymore, like it's been tainted by this trash.
Everything good about Stardust Crusaders became cringy in this show.
Not funny, stupid stands, stupid characters, stupid fights...I don't even know what to say. It was absolute torture trying to finish the last few episodes.
To think that the epic that Jotaro went on, and the final battle against Dio...could come to this. Araki should be embarrassed he wrote this trash.
I always recommend Stardust Crusaders to my friends and fans of anime, but I would never recommend this. I would actually be embarrassed if anyone saw this before Stardust Crusaders.
And no, I am not trolling. I just cannot understand how something this awful is so universally loved. There were moments I was sitting there, with my jaw dropped, watching Killer Queen fight with a stupid plant-cat stand in it's stomach, firing air bubbles at Josuke...and I just couldn't even wrap my mind around his stupid it all was.

Boring, obvious bait.
Joshua Butler
How is it bait? That's how I actually feel about it.
Colton Lewis
You sound pretty new, fuck off.

Diamond is Unbreakable was a fairly weak part, but it's objectively far better than Stardust Crusaders How can you complain about stupid stands when Part 3 had bizarre stands like a literal car that just runs you over
Andrew Brooks
This It's understandable to have those problems with Jojo 4, but part 3 has the exact same problems

A car makes more sense than....
-A ghost dad who flies around in a PICTURE -A steel tower... -Feet that run after people and jump inside them to suck out nutrients -A Stand with 3 abilities (including blowing up itself...but not blowing....and setting off a bomb that turns back time...good grief) -A dead cat's stand that's a plant that shoots oxygen -Army men -Stupid bees that collect things - A stand that folds people up into paper... -Invisible Baby?? - A LOCK
Jezus Christ, what a mess.
Cameron Wright
Nice bait fag
Ryan Williams
Did you skip the first two parts user ?
Joseph Price
Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency? No.
They were utterly ridiculous, but still enjoyable. I would watch them over Diamond any day.
Jackson Watson
Army men make more sense than...
-A Car -A Sun -A socket that use magnetism -Thorns that hack electronic stuff -A frog that take your soul with a bet -Fucking Water -A beetle -Stupid crabs in your head -Shape-shifting face?? -A MANGA
Jezus Christ, what a mess

>reddit spacing >... Go back to r/anime you pathethic excuse for a human being.
Andrew Martin
Uh no Part 3 is just better Part 4 fells like a shonen garbage No one really dies and the villain is just weak It's just not as serious as part 3
Mason Baker
Part 3 is literally just monster of the week ghost battles for 26 episodes straight with little plot, the fights aren't even that good. It's straight up shonenshit.
Julian Hughes
I'm not even a fan of part 4 but part 3 is much more standard than it.

What do you think caused such a sharp drop in sales? Was it that bait guy again? He probably didn't buy enough discs.
Austin Rogers
That's because the overall theme of Diamond is Unbreakable and the artistic style is utterly, completely wrong in the anime adaptation.
The manga has a sweet slice of life style in the first half, paired with small suburban 80's american town thematics. It's fun to read.
The anime atrocious visual style utterly butchers that very flighty, very sweet atmosphere and replace it with weirdness. It's just not the same.
Luis Robinson
Maybe you'll like part 5 better ? It's similar to Stardust crusaders.
I don't have a strong opinion on the visuals but the dialogue was so bland compared to the color scans. I just got bored halfway through and re-read the manga.
Wyatt Davis
Terrible OP but at least it's not another general yet.
The only thing really missing from part 4 is memorable MCs. The joke with Josuke's hair was never funny, Yoichi was a typical beta and Okuyasu appeared out of nowhere to become an annoying side-kick. Their designs would make them popular with elevens due to the mainstream high school fetish but they were relatively bland.
At least part 3 peaked with mudamudamuda and had a couple of memorable moments.
Ryan Ward
The sales are pretty damn good though?
P1: ¥1,247.6 P4: ¥740.4 P3: S1 ¥650.4 / S2 ¥529.1

Can't get more contrarian than this.

Hm. That too.
Diamond is Unbreakable is the subtlest part of all the Jojos. It is a very undefinable mix of suburban town, slice of life, and great characters that just barely work together because it is perfectly well balanced.
The anime is just not up to the task. The visual style is horrible, the dialogue are bland, the pacing is meh, it is just not as good an adaptation. Any other part, you have an okay adaptation? No problem. This part can't have an okay adaptation, because the atmosphere hinges so much on subtleties.
