I just watched this for the first time and it was fun. People were bitching about the alien goo and Mad Pierrot episodes being filler but I thought they were fun and well done enough to keep me entertained. In the end I think it's one of the best shows I've watched and definitely is executed much better than 90% of shows made after it. I'll watch it again someday.

I know this is bait, but I agree. It's also important to note that overrated ≠ bad. I personally enjoyed it, but not the 11/10 show that most think it is IMO.

Some people think it's a waste of time since it doesn't really do anything to advance the "plot". But I think the people who think lile that miss the point of Bebop by thinking like that. I see Mad Pierrot as a sort of budget dump episode where they saw they had some extra cash and went nuts with the animation. I think it's one of the funnest episodes of the series. There are probably hidden metaphors and shit throughout that I missed but I don't really care about that.
