To be insufferably annoying. The kid insert is always the most obnoxious thing in any of these shows. That includes Sonic, Transformers, and so on.
I watch Sonic Boom once in a while. It's hasn't made laugh, but there was an attempt. I'd rate it 6/10.
What we can deduce from this is that we need a Sonic Cartoon that just adapts the games
The only episode that made me laugh was that one where Sonic gets kidnapped by his biggest fan. Would also rate it the same.

some of the animation was actually really good, but it was rare. Usually it was only in the episodes Super Sonic was in. Otherwise it ranged from shit to barely acceptable. Everyone was always off model. The characters almost never looked like they were moving. It was especially bad when compared to other anime that was popular at the time

I'd like another shot at a Sonic anime but I think the OVA is as good as they are going to get. Must have been a fluke for it to be that good.

The whole metarex spy plot twist floored me the first time I watched this
While I think most of the anime was shit, the Metarex arc was amazing

I hate how they gave Chris Amy's role in convincing Shadow to save everyone and remember his promise that was one of my favorite game story moments.

I enjoyed the Metarex arc somewhat.
There were a couple okay episodes earlier, on, like the Rouge ones, but this was absolutely not a good show.
Excellent, the sonic OVA was very underrated and had a very catchy soundtrack.

She can be pretty whiny and opinionated sometimes, but she's still pretty smart. It depends on the episode honestly. If you like transformers I highly recommend you watch it, it's pretty good.
Also if you do watch it be warned that the first arc is really slow and kinda bad. Push through it, it gets better after Speed planet.

There's some alright "hide the alien from my family" style shenanigans early on, but the early episodes are bad.
Aside from Chris, all the human characters were pretty cool (Sam Speed, the mama-san maid, Topaz, Chris' milf mom). Pic related is my wheelchair-fu.

As far as 90s serialized cartoon shows go, it's pretty solid. Not up to the standards of the Marvel and DC stuff at the time, but good.
The only episodes that mattered watching were with Shadow in it.

I'm ok with this because his Engrish was amazing.
I loved the first season. It had legit hilarious humors and all characters were actually fleshed out nicely. Chris didn't bother me that much because he was sidelined for the most time. Mostly it was Sanic and Knackles and Amy show.
Season 2 was just horrible summary of Adventure games and if you're interested in the story you better just go youtube to watch game cutscenes.
Season 3 was brooding dark fanfiction. so goddamn awful it was unwatchable peace of trash.
