Death note is garbage
Of course they "loved" it.
"loved" the pile of money Netflix left for them
same way Toriyama "loved" Dragon Ball Evolution
These were the same chucklefucks who thought Bakuman's ending was a good idea.
Bakuman's ending was good though
>same way Toriyama "loved" Dragon Ball Evolution
Yep. And it took years before Toriyama dared to officially declare how angry he was.
Remember the last time a Japanese author dared to talk shit about an adaptation of his show?
Besides cuck Light I think it might be a decent movie
these are the same creators who kept on churning out shit after L died instead of just ending it with a Light victory because of the money
Creator of bad manga loves bad movie wow no way
They loved the royalty cheque
>'loved'
I read Bakuman so many years ago I forgot the ending, of all things. I literally remember the plot of the fictional mangas each mangaka was making, but not the last chapters. How did it end again and how was it bad?
>Needing to get the original creators to talk well about a film adaptation because there is no other way to make people think MAYBE it won't be hot garbage
>loved
I would love whatever brings food to my house too.
I wonder if that was in their contracts
And James Cameron loved Terminator 5.
MC got hitched and got rich over the course of like 2 chapters.
Can it be considered a remake if they're re-writing most of the characters?
off course faggot, they are re-making it.
I bet they did.
>Who's the black guy?
>t-that's Aizawa
>amended American setting and context
Japanese creators aren't as outspoken as western ones. You hardly ever get cases like Alan Moore pubically shit talking people involved with things he worked on.
In the final stretch, the main characters had a hit on their hands and knew getting first place on the final chapter was an inevitability, so they just kind of kept doing what they were doing. Once it happened, they cheered a bit, there was a flash forward to the first episode of the anime airing, then as soon as it finished the main character went off the marry his girlfriend.
There wasn't really much of a climax to it. After an entire arc about knowing when to end an manga, the series just kind of ends with a fizzle.
>we know when to stop
>the manga stops
woah... how unexpected.....
Kenji and Mamoru also approved and liked the GITS live movie, whats your point?
Yeah, it felt contrary to the message of the arc. The main characters worry about dragging their manga out too long, then Bakuman ends up having the opposite problem and wraps things up too abruptly. Another five or ten chapters would have done a world of wonders for that ending.
>He was so angry he created BoG,Resurrection of F and DB Super
>"Loved"
I bet several million dollars they did.
>Another five or ten chapters would have done a world of wonders for that ending.
Oh. I see what you mean now, fair enough.
So, death note revival in 10 years from now?
It's this, you wait until the royalties stop coming in to give your honest opinion. Even if its a commercial flop.
>Apologize.
paid review
paid royals
loved it....,sure...love
This.
The only creators that are allowed to have an opinion openly are legends like Miyazaki or Torriyama. Everyone else is too worried about making waves.
He knew what kind of retarded and boring trash he was writing
Mamoru Oshii said he same thing about the GitS adaptation, and look how that turned out.
>okay I'm done with the haircut, how is it?
>y-yeah... it's great....
>thanks!
Breaking news: local man 'loved' his new haircut
who's this qt
JUST
Wait why is "loved" in quotes there?
Jesus christ was mahou sensou really 3 years ago
I'm unironically looking forward to it. I don't care if it's one hundred percent faithful. If it was a carbon copy it wouldn't be worth watching. And besides, there are already japanese live actions productions and you can go see those if you really want too. The movie looks like it will have good atmosphere, high production value, and a decent story too. There's really not much to hate.
Just last year with Kumamiko?
It was pretty well foreshadowed from the beginning that Light would die at the end of the story.
Why would you watch this when there's an actual Death Note live-action adaptation by the nips? One that's hilariously camp as well much like the anime.
Where is this cutr girl from? Porn probably
Because it's bad?
Yeah but it's camp as fuck though.
yeah
Live Action thread?
Live action thread !
but fucking mod didnt even knew what is live action
Give me sauce then
The Rurouni Kenshin movie I can see why, but this?
Didn't Azuma hate the Azumanga Daioh anime?
>Creators of a show don't say negative things about something that will bring them more income
GitS's creator was fine with the casting choice for the live adaptation. Didn't mean that the final product wasn't shit.
I rarely hear a creator "hating" something that gives him cash
How much did they love it?
There has never been an aggressive Japanese response to Western adaptions.
Even Dragon Ball's creator was sucking Hollywood dick in the beginning and only waited for it to flop before he started dissing it.
Doesn't Anno hate otaku?
DC won't hand the Watchmen rights back to Alan Moore. They do everything they can to prevent it.
This is why Dr Manhattan is fucking around with Superman and shit now for no good reason.
>nips having shit taste
Tell me something new.
Death Note's creators are hacks desu.
Hikaru no Go is the only good thing the Death Note illustrator has done except Hikaru no Go was authored by an actual Go expert
>that SNQ+Jojo stands brief Manga
>Baku man
QUESTIon? What's a hack?
Yeah because the death note creators would benefit from torpedoing the netflix movie.
>netflix
>apologize
Back to Sup Forums with you
I came here just to say this
fuck off Sup Forumsposter
there is misquote there. should be money
>amended American setting and context
Oh man, this has potential. I need details, I want a good laugh.
They got money for it and more fee from manga reprints, of course they "love" it. Doesn't mean it isn't shit.
>'loved' it
>not loved it
It's shit.
You know I always wondered about why that was.
Did it get axed?
What was there to be mad about? It seemed like a great adaptation to me.
It's pretty well indicated that they were essentially forced to continue because it was printing money for Shonen Jump.
>Creators
They could be talking about Shueisha for all I know.
Is there a comment by Ohbata?
What do you expect honorable nips to say? It's a fucking garbage abomination?
...
>I loved this thing which gives me huge royalties
>expecting polite japanese author to openly shit on adaptation of his own franchise
Nigga u dumb
Me irl
post smile
it's almost like they get some money out of it
Just like Oshii with Ghost in the Shell, right?
Didn't the bokurano guy call the anime a steaming pile of shit?
>i don't understate japanese politeness
dunno but L was a moralfag who was too pussy to use the DN
that's why he lost against Light
Mello is actually a better character than L
The ending was irrelevant. What the hell were you expecting? a shounen battle ending?
Yeah but mostly himself
death note super
Yeah, if I'd get paid to spout useless shit, just to sell a few more copies, I'd also "love" it.
'loved' as loving that mad cash right?
>implying nips can't make good live action movie
I've seen that nips tend to make good adaptations when the source is a novel or something
They just plain fucking suck at adapting manga and anime
Just look at pic related, the school shooting scene was fucking 10/10
Though I agree the manga is turning out to be pretty good as well
The fact they made Light a pseudo school shooter makes me puke
Author said that he didn't like the ending and he didn't have anything to do with it.
Then he suddenly changed his opinion and apologized for everything, and it was actually him who proposed that ending to the studio, so fans shouldn't blame them.
I'm pretty sure they "love" it the same way Toriyama said he loved DB Evolution, that being, only saying it for good press but actually hating it on the inside
Money talks.
I don't like Ryuk's character being changed to be an enabler rather than an observer.
Ryuk gives the Death Note to a high schooler. He turns out to be more righteous and starts fighting crime with the Death Note, except he's a genius and modifies the Death Note so that it doesn't kill anyone, just incapacitates them. And he confronts his enemies head on and has to use his superior intellect to devise schemes to get his enemies to reveal their real names to him. The show will be called Light Note.
