What was the very first anime you watched subbed?
What was the very first anime you watched subbed?
One Piece, after I caught up with the dub.
Bleach
Naruto with my brother
o edo rocket
I can't remember the first ever anime, but I think the very first series I watched fully subbed was Cardcaptor Sakura.
Gene Shaft.
I don't know, probably a harem anime
Sekirei or One Piece.
Cowboy Bebop on Locomotion.
...
High school dxd i think, fucking hated it
I don't remember. I've been following so long, I don't even keep track of time anymore.
Ranma ½
Gundam SEED
Dragonball Z movies I downloaded from some crappy p2p program I can't even remember the name of. The quality was pretty bad but it was the whole movie without viruses at least and it had subs. Shit was so cash back in like 2002.
Midori no Hibi.
Lucky Star.
Back then i didn't even know what the fuck was going on.
One of Miyazaki's films back in like grade 4 or 5 when I studied Japanese. I think it was my neighbour totoro.
magipoka. was p bad
Girls und Panzer
Akira, back when it first came out. I am old.
Ginban Kaleidscope I think, or at least the first one I watched subbed from start to finish. I had mainly watched anime on TV before that.
You're not the OP.
nichibros
Bleach, at some point around ten years ago. I remember the sub group changed midway through my viewing and I was very confused
Jojo
Chobits
Juuden-chan
It was right when I discovered Sup Forums and realized streaming and torrenting existed so you could watch shows prelocalization. It all went down hill from there.
This and NGE.
It's been a while and I watched anime mostly dubbed at the time, but I'm almost sure it was Slayers.
Got into anime last year with hajime no ippo, I watched that in dub but had to watch the follow up shows in subs
Zero no Tsukaima
Possibly Hikaru no Go.
FMA 03 because I was a young lad and this was back in the day where you couldnt just find the perfect DVD rip in 30 seconds. I tried to DDL the whole thing and some episodes ended up being subtitled. Similar thing but with Naruto and FMA Brotherhood, only about half of it was actually dubbed when I decided I want to watch it so the second half was all subs (For FMAB at least, Naruto I stopped at like episode 100 or something sometime after the Sasuke fight and nothing was happening)
Fully subtitled though, thats a good question, now that I think about it I was a pretty stubborn dub-only fag for a while. Maybe it was Kaiji, since theres no dub for it. Or the Eden of the East movies (Netflix had the TV series dub but I dont remember about the movies)
I think I starkly remember Madoka being the last dubbed anime I ever watched. Because holy fuck, the dub for Madoka is so bad.
Watamote.
trigun in tiny yellow subs
Elfen Lied
I used to watch Rave, Vandread, and Chuka Ichiban subbed on TV
Then i discovered streaming when we got decent internet, I think it was either Naruto or Haruhi
Started downloading fansubs when idolm@ster aired
GitS on VHS. I dunno if there was a dub at that time.
Are you me?
I don't even remember, all of them have been subbed other than the first Pokemon series which I watched dubbed (sadly) on Swedish TV in the 90's.
love hina on google video
Uh, maybe project ako on vhs. I'm honestly not sure, it's been that long.
Lucky Star
Slayers was mine, courtesy of a channel that aired it subbed along with raw/undubbed episodes of Dragon Ball Z
Love Hina. Naru is still a cunt.
sailor moon and DBZ with my grandma
Spirited Away, it was also my first anime ever. Saw it in the movie theater, it was kickass.
Fucking cookies. Now fixed.
Who was her favorite sailor?
I forgot, maybe Saikano or Green Green, it was in early 2012 on a shitty streaming site.
Hunter x Hunter (1999)
From Hollywood Video. The first subbed anime I owned was Legend of Crystania.
I think Angel Beats
Onegai Teacher.
Kill la Kill, since it wasn't available dubbed yet when I first heard about it.
Yugioh Gx, just the last season.
Shingeki no Kyojin
Gunslinger Girl
Soul eater.
Panty & Stocking, maybe.
It was the first anime I watched while it was airing.
Boku no Hero Academia
Death note and Spice and wolf.
Brother?!
>First three answers are the Big Three.
Was this part of your plan, Shounen Jump?!
Probably Black Lagoon.
Rizelmine
First anime I watched
Saw anime tits on early youtube and couldn't stop watching
Dokuro-chan
Dragonball GT
Over here they were just airing the cell games and I wanted to know how that would end. so I downloaded Z as a dub. Then I wanted to see what Gt was about but that wasn't dubbed yet so I downloaded the subbed version.
Lucky Star
Shin Cutey Honey
Lucky star
Madoka
The original keroro gunsou, I don't even remember how I found it, just that I did somehow.
Princess Nine. It was also the first anime I ever actively searched for online instead of just watching the series that were on TV.
Dokuro-chan
had the best times watching that
Full Metal Alchemist (2004)
strike witches: the movie
same
underrated show
>Mai-Hime
Damn, good times. I really need to rewatch it, any good torrents out there?
I think mine was Gundam Seed Destiny.
Sailor Moon by DIC
Yeah fuck my life
what's with the pic?
My first anime season.
Oh god, I miss this.
Saint Seya Hades Arc
SAO was the first anime I ever watched. I like to think I've come a long way since
I'm actually not sure. Chances are it might be Eureka 7, since I remember not wanting to wait for Toonami's weekly broadcasts and started binge watching the subbed version. Had to spend days trying to find the unfinished Nanashi subs for the later episodes, since they wouldn't release them before they were 115% perfect.
...
hello me
Fushigi Yuugi OVA on bootlegged VHS.
Hand Maid May
Love hina or Chobits back in 2003
Same here user
To be fair, most people who started watching (downloading and watching sub) anime about 10 years ago started with one of the big three
One piece was also the first anime i downloaded to watch, about 8 years ago.
