It's hopeless ('_>`)

>Satoshi Kon is kill
>Ryutaro Nakamura is kill
>Kenji Nakamura has only produced cringefest shows after his masterpiece Kuuchu Buranko

Is there anyone besides Masaaki Yuasa who can save us from the shitty state of the Anime industry?

He said someone who can save us from the shitty state of the Anime industry.

Katabuchi, duh. He did it last year too.

his anime looks so korean

I'm not sure who's this cutie, but I'd block her vaginal path with my penis, if you know what I mean

Yamada always looks sad. I want to hug her.

It's probably the most Japanese film I've ever watched.

A movie with a tired theme and no depth will never save shit

>no depth
>a tired theme
Wow it's almost like you didn't event watch the film.

That's a sexy tree.

Fuck off crossboarding scum.

It was a great movie, but let's be real here, its not as great as Kon's works or Yuasa's works, its not saving shit.

She is both.

Fuck off newfag

>Is there anyone besides Masaaki Yuasa who can save us from the shitty state of the Anime industry?
No.
nice digits btw
p.s. i like poop

>('_>`)
Fuck off and kill yourself.

Kono Sekai is much better than:
KON
-Paprika
-Tokyo Godfathers
-Millennium Actress
-Paranoia Agent
YUASA
-Mind Game
-Kick Heart
-Tatami

Katabuchi is easily on par with both directors. Kono Sekai, Arete, and Mai Mai Miracle prove this.
Also, let's be real, everything Kon did after Perfect Blue just wasn't as great.

Both Yuasa's films bombed, didn't they? Why is he getting an award?

>implying
You're the fucking redditor using terms like "FIFY", kill yourself.

What the fuck does bombing have to do with whether you get an award?

He wins at foreign film festivals, obviously.

>SEETHING

Ya worked yaself into a shoot, ya midget

>he don't know that FIFY has been used on Sup Forums for years

Lurk more faggot

It's a reddit term, and now you're using reddit spacing, so what kind of authority do you have on the topic?

the art style I mean

>it's a reddit term

Spotted the reddtor

Fuck off

>>>/reddit/

We apparently have conflicting tastes, I've watched Katabuchi's works, he can't hold a candle to Kon's or Yuasa's works, not even their worst anime

h a z u k a s h i i

Damn, must suck to have shit taste like this. Then again, I wouldn't know what it feels like to be you.

>the art style
I don't even know what a "korean" art style, but OK. Kono Sekai just straight up adapted Fumiyo's art.

>the art style looks Korean

>Says the nigger who worships a one-hit wonder hack

You'll never feel what to be me, don't sweat it.

If a movie is good, it gets recognition and sales. It's not a hard concept, dummy.
Reminds me of that Allen's movie where he becomes temporary blind and directs a movie that gets destroyed by the US critics, but is regarded by the french as visionary.

>one-hit wonder hack
Weird, cuz all his films are masterpieces?

>The state of this delusional fag

Ah yes, keep sucking on them balls.

Hi Katabuchi! Didn't know you browse Sup Forums!

>implying
Literally every important contemporary director respects Katabuchi.
Also he's probably the only director Miyazaki has any hope for.

tbqh, this whole thing is a matter of preference
to me, makoto shinkai btfos every single one of them
i'm sure you don't agree, but that's that, it is the same for you both, case closed

ONLY THE DEADS CA KNOW PEACE OF THIS EVIL

Shinkai is probably the greatest hack in the
entire industry. He'll never leave that stupid cliche romance melodrama bubble of his, and even when he tries to, he miserably fails.

>If a movie is good, it gets recognition and sales. It's not a hard concept, dummy.
That's not really how it works.

>mods deleted the yamada post

Based mods. Love ya love ya.

Probably because of *action* and dumb normalfag meme though.

more like kono pookai no katapoopy ni amirite fellow r/4channers?

>IN A STATE OF PURE RAGE

While some good movies may fail to get noticed by large audiences, this happens due to problems in distribution or immediate accessibility(like being in another language), not because lack of appeal. In Yuasa's case, his movies were distributed by Toho and he explicitly said that he was aiming for a large audience, and yet he failed.
My general opinion about him is that he is a really good director, capable of presenting simple, universal stories, while also portraying complex characters and relationships. But he also tries too hard to present these as "interesting", adding elements that actually get in the way of the stories he is trying to tell. Kemonozume, for example, has a great romance plot and characters that, despite having simple motivations, show a wide and rich range of interactions between each other, but also has the almost nonsensical themes of being eaten/cut down by your loved one and choosing or not to cut your arms off. Sure, those are devices to show how dangerous passionate love can get and how lovers can make their own way against circumstances that leave them almost no choice, but those elements most of the time drag down the series rather than enriching it. Sometimes those elements make for really flashy animation scenes, like the party inside the whale in Mind Game, but I think most viewers wouldn't mind their absence. I hope he can get past that and make more grounded works like Ping Pong, maybe even make a Bou ga Ippon adaptation.
