They aren't told the truth. I used to think Israel was the victim, and that Muslims were trying to kill them and take over their land which they had owned for centuries. We don't hear about how Palestinians are forced out of their homes, or how Jews violate international law by using white phosphorus on protestors. Just look at who owns all the media companies, they control what we see and how we see it.

Israel flying into Syrian airspace over a 100 times and bombing Syrian targets was okay, but Iran flying their drone is a gross act of aggression.
Same goes for the USA. A Syrian Army tank misfired and hit SDF position and the Americans "followed protocol" and bombed them while the Kurds in the Afrin region are being blasted by the Turks.

It is very hard to change people's minds, but I have had success with using facts only and remaining neutral. Like I said, most Americans do not know the truth and have a very warped perspective. If you tell them about the real founding of Israel and what actually goes on there, you may be able to change their mind. There will always be a percent who cannot be swayed no matter what, but for the few you can convince, it is worth it.
