Backlogs

Any tips on how to DEMOLISH a backlog anons? Ever since I started watching things that came out each season as they air 3 years ago I have built an insane backlog.

PS: Should I watch Koi no Katachi or Read the manga first?

>animenewsnetwork.com

saged get out and never come back

I was intrigued by their article on backlogs and didn't know what pic to use and I had it bookmarked so used it. My bad kinda new to Sup Forums.

If you can't bring yourself to watch things, why even bother storing them?
Just start over.

>My bad kinda new to Sup Forums

Stop making shit threads on Sup Forums, and try actually watching anime.

I watch them, like them, move onto the new shit, rinse repeat and proceed

So then why make the thread?

You just have to start watching things instead of posting. It takes less than 2 hours a night to watch every single show airing each season (around 50 shows). Set goals for completing a show within a certain time period or watch while eating.
Lurk for 2 years before posting.

>My bad kinda new to Sup Forums.
It's amazing how every single one of you retards just blatantly states this. Please just lurk before posting.

I watch them but never finish them and that's why my shit is long
Actually I have been lurking for almost three years

Watch one cours a day.

Is that even possible? I guess I could try

>2014
Permanent cancer. Watch anime instead of posting and lurk more.

Fuck off and lurk more retard.

Yes sir

I don't know how you can watch an entire cour in one sitting, what's the point in burning so much time watching anime if none of it is gonna stick or leave any lasting impact on you, especially if it becomes a daily MEDIA CONSUMPTION SPREE.

>none of it is gonna stick or leave any lasting impact on you
You don't know what you are talking about.
Two cours a day is easily doable. Even three cours is in the realm of possibilities.

>I watch anime for 18 hours a day

wow dude

So how should I handle it? If I don't watch one anime a day then my backlog shall never end.

You're making anime seem like a chore, and you really should stop.
What you're describing will only lead to burnout and then you'll never finish.

>is it possible
it's only like 5 hours. I used to watch 2 cours a day back in highschool

Three cours is more like 16 hours.
People have done four cours in a day but not continuously.

Serious question OP. If you have this much motivation why don't you put the effort on some other hobby? Maybe try to read a bunch of books about business instead of watching a lot of anime, who knows.

>i watch anime for 16 hours a day

why do you keep repeating this as if it's something to be proud about?
That's fucking embarrassing.

There's really not much point rushing it. The situation gets pretty shitty when you've finished your backlog and the season is shit.

I got back into video games but truthfully I only did to ignore my backlog issue because I didnt want to confront it

this
there's only so many shows from the last 30 years that are actually worth your time, and once you burn through all of them, you are stuck watching seasonal shit for the rest of your life

I no longer do it because I ran out of anime to watch.
What's so bad about watching anime on the anime board?

I rather have nothing to watch than have too much to watch

>how to DEMOLISH a backlog
listen to the dub in the background while you're working on something

Then I'm not watching anime, I'm just listening to character speak. How will I get a sense of the characters emotions in the changes of their facial features? Or see the animation techniques which the animators took their time to craft?

self bump

Watch at 2x speed bro! If it's boring, then watch on 4x

Then don't HAVE a backlog.

How do I do that?

This is what I did, it also allows you to enjoy the anime you watch more.

Just delete your backlog, and only search for a new anime when you're done with the one you're currently watching.

That's pretty brutal user, you sure there's no other way?

I have 8tb backlog and I don't see it as a list I have to watch or anything.
I'm just collecting random anime I haven't seen yet.

Buy exernal hard drives. I have 15 TBs worth of storage.

Should I be torrenting anime?

If you even have to ask, you are already not qualified to do that. Just buy crunchyroll.

Why should I torrent anime?

> Why should I watch anime in the highest quality attainable with my choice of subtitle groups

I guess I see what you mean, I'll bulk torrent anime from this current season now and see how the experience is.

You should probably wait until shows get a bd before you torrent them, otherwise the "highest quality" is wasted on tv versions which are objectively inferior to their bd counterparts

I don't care about getting the greatest quality possible, as long as it's great quality I'm fine

>ANN picture of localized releases
I was looking forward to a fun thread fill of laughing about how our backlogs will outlive us, but you really just want everyone to tell you to kill yourself, don't you? Now run along and kill yourself.

I just want help

I just want newfags and offboarders to leave, but it looks like neither of us are getting what we want.

I'm sorry

>Any tips on how to DEMOLISH a backlog anons?
Yes, never backup your hdd.
At least that's how I did it.

start deleting shit, you start adding stuff just because and you were never gonna watch it in the first place

After that use a random number generator to decide what you'll watch, your indecisive ass sure as hell can't

Then use the 3 episode rule, if you don't like it after 3 episodes, drop it and move on, don't be an autist who forces yourself to watch a show you don't like

t. has a small backlog and doesn't feel like a prisoner to it

The thing is 90% of my backlog I watched half of the shows and liked them so i didn't drop em.

You sound casual as fuck.

What do you suggest I do instead user?

>le casual

I'll have you know I've seen over 20 animes

Including movies?

Suicide.

You get higher standards...

>lurk 2 years before posting so you don't google a picture and trigger my autism by posting something with a watermark
You faggots never cease to amaze me.

Lurk for 60 years and inhale carbon monoxide before posting.

Download watch it skip through to find any good parts if it sucks or you lose interest you can demolish shows once you know if you'll like it (watch) or it's boring trash that isn't for you (skip through)

...

>2 hours a night to watch every single show airing each season (around 50 shows)
How does that workout?
I can barely finish 3-4 episodes / day.

It is if you don't work, or have the next day off.

>1.5
I'm glad I'm not the only one do this.

i have become the backlog

must be nice being a NEET

yeah

I like having a backlog. I hate when I run out of things to watch, because whenever I eat dinner, I have this obsessive need to watch something. I cannot eat dinner if i am not watching something.
That is why, before I can start eating, I always prepare 2 or 3 anime episodes so i can watch them back-to-back.
It's not like I eat for an hour straight, but sometimes an anime can be cancer, and i end up skipping ahead minutes at a time. So 3 episodes only really take like half an hour to watch.
Anyway. I hate when I run out of things to watch, because then i am LITERALLY UNABLE TO EAT.

>I cannot eat dinner if i am not watching something.

the virgin dinner

>I cannot eat dinner if i am not watching something.

I thought I was the only one

For example, watch 10 different anime, one episode each a day.
this way, you always have something to look forward to the next day,
