Can you prove otherwise?

Because that's not a zero.

>thinks its a zero
Its a Kawanishi N1K2J Shiden you dumb fuck

By the conclusion that they are the writers of the story that is told, not some butthurt basement dwelling fanfiction writer living in burgerland.

Why not?

Also, S2 fucking when

arr rook same

>zero

four 20 mm cannons? i'd give it a decent chance

Japs are convinced that they were the most technologically superior army during WWII and because of that all Imperial Japanese WWII era arms and armor are considered to be infallible there.

Not that they can really be blamed, most Americans and Brits tend to think the same.

On the other hand, interestingly enough; Germans who held the technological advantage seem to think their armies were running around with axes and scary looking gas mask/helmet combos with soldiers wearing formal SS uniforms on the battlefield. Acting like savages and rushing at enemies who were better equip while relying on the Reich's massive number of troops. All despite the fact that Germany relied on their superior arms and strategies to make up for their small number of troops (compared to the whole of the Allies/Comintern anyway. Germany's army relative to the country's size and population was actually immense.)

So, the answer you're looking for would be;
People are biased.

Who the fuck believes japanese technology was superior to anything? Everybody knows the storys about the ball-shooting Nambu pistols and the Zeros paper-armor.

Shiden Kai you doofus.

>Was there plane armor that could reliably stop machinegun bursts, without making the plane sluggish ?

Brits got their ass handed over early war because of nip planes.
Same for russians
And they had good a navy.

But that's not the topic.

Late war planes, including the one in OP, had decent enough armor that only larger calibers were effective.

japs
they're fucking gooks dude; national pride is all they got in their glamorized slave empires

you try working 120 hours a week every week for years on end while only earning enough to live in a cramped little apartment where if you jump you bump your head and see if you don't start to hate western countries that have everything you wish you had and a lifestyle to match

you'd grasp at straws to boost your sense of pride too

The dragon might have an advantage in a turning dogfight at knife fight range but if it uses its superior speed and weapons range properly from a distance a WW2 fighter could easily win for the same reason a guy on a motorbike with a machine gun can beat a knight on a horse with a javelin.

>a guy on a motorbike with a machine gun can beat a knight on a horse with a javelin
Isekai anime about that when?

Clearly we have a lot of experts on plane vs. dragon battles here.

My major was Draco Aeronautics and Ballistics

Two rivals reincarnate as a motorbike and a machinegun in a medieval world and have to learn to work together to survive.

The ost was pretty good.

Is this a Zero no Tsukaima thread? If so, can I use it as an isekai general?

Dragon has shit on 20mm cannons

Also, the "episode preview" full song.

1,14 megajoule per second ain't no joke

Depends on the dragon.
A D&D dragon is an epic spellcaster with adamantine damage reduction and an intellect far above a human, good luck fighting that.
A generic monster dragon with though skin, no real intellect and just brute force would easily be taken down by piercing ammo and missiles, unless they manage to also be agile in which case the plane is still fucked.

all the plane has to do is climb to a higher altitude and then strafe with 20mm cannons this is too EZ

I forgot about the altitude, I doubt a monster dragon would be able to fly that high.

Would you listen to operas with Easy?

I somewhat doubt WWII 20 mm guns hold a candle to a 30 mm chain gun produced 40 years later, at least as far as penetrative power is concerned.

is easy an easy lay?

if yes, then yes.

This baby will shoot down any flying hunk of sushi those nips pump out

Matching dubs confirm.

I don't think nips spoke english.

I came for the glorious nippong steel webm
36 posts and it's still not here, I'm disappointed

"wings sharp like katana" one?

dead nips don't speak

mochiron desu

Zeros had paper armor for a reason. They were doing great until much better planes appeared.

Later nip planes were actually better armed and armored than their western counterparts.

Go and read about US tests of captured Ki-84.

N1K, J2M and Ki-84 shit all over Corsairs.

Yeah, that's why Japan won the war amirite

What are numbers? USA won because industry.

The armor was about the same actually.
Wrong USA won due to better strategy and tactics.

Mostly industry. It's a big help to be able to drown the enemy in bodies that are also well equipped.

So, who are the good guys?
Hitler or Jesus?

USA already had started achieving a 1 to 1 kill ratio against zeroes with wildcats thanks to the Thatch weave. Nips didn't know what was going on until after the war.

It should be illegal to be this lazy.
Either you live the neet life or you work.

Assuming dragons that are used for riding don't have bullshit magic powers, they are just big bulky flying lizards with some kind of flammable gas producing organ and a type of spark plug organ in their mouthes, I air to air combat gun would demolish them.

Something that is meant to destroy another peice of machinery would have no problem tearing though an animal.

Agree, flying dragon are pratically equipment to an attacker chopper if no wizardry shenanigans is accounted for.
A chopper with a lack of long range armament and more suited for air to ground combat than air to air since they only have melee and Fire breath.
There dragon scale armor also wouldn't be that much more tougher since having anything more than 20-30 mm of scale skin will limit their mobility and effect their survival to hunt for prey.

Dragon are a powerful and dangerous, but when you start introducing air power after the 1950, they are practically flying lizard

>equipment
God damn auto correct.
I meant equivalent

I thought about the scale armor after I posted. Even if somehow they'd have rediculously strong bulletproff armor, it doesn't cover their whole bodies specifically their wing membrane. Target their head, wings, underbelly or rider and they go down instantly.

Why not? Why should some overgrown lizard be able to stand up to even 20th century firearms? Or even suicide nippon banzai planes, not that it happened.

Hell, with the right type of ammunition, puncturing the organ that produced the flammable gas could cause them to explode.

A pilot that has the skill to do this could do this could cause collateral damage within a dragon cavalry fleet by hitting one.
