re: your new point - government in debt - if you want to decrease debt, you have to stop spending all your income. marginally increasing your income (in the form of higher taxes) has virtually ZERO effect on economic health when compared to the effect of decreasing your expenses. My highschool and almost all NYC high schools that i've visited have grated windows. You have to cut the metal fencing with a buzz saw
