Sadly, no. I hate whoever thought it was a good idea to spend a season establishing Hayate as one of the main characters and then turn her into a widow at the end. It seems like they don't plan to ever allow her to get over that loss. Any sort of widow archetype is certainly uncommon, especially in yuri, but I don't see the appeal. Maybe it's supposed to serve as a constant reminder of the serious side of the series.
