Despite the unnecessarily long and sometimes repetitive exposition, Re:Creators is actually quite consistent and decent. The problem is that it's pretty hard to watch it weekly, especially with these stupid specials airing in the middle of the season. It's a combination of that and the fact that people were expecting an over the top battle royale every episode that makes people shitpost about it every day. The real test will come in these last 6 episodes, which the previous 16 episodes have been building up to really hard. If they drop the ball here, then the whole show would have been for nothing.
Lincoln Allen
Real episode this week boys or we still have that sport taking the airtime?
Aiden Edwards
Real episode, the preview will be up in 5 hours.
Parker Thompson
The finale better not be underwhelming and anticlimactic. The build up has been so damn slow and uneventful.

I can't waifufag over any of the girls. I would fuck the shit out of every girl in this show without question

Unless some over the top twist happens, its gonna stay on its current course I'd say.We got metchin the bad guy and what else for the tweest?

It's slow as fuck, and every single time they start to capture my attention, the show fucks off for two weeks.

I guess it's better when you binge watch it like I've been doing.
I've also only watched up to episode 14. does it decline in quality after that?

I've gotten really bored of it, all the build up and shit. Now I just don't care anymore.

Episodes 15 and 16, that is
Aaron Young
Shouldn't it be the opposite in that it's a lot more disappointing than what you expected considering how many times it's brought up the wasted potential this show shits out.
Cameron Miller
>Doesn't rely on fanservice and surprisingly little pandering for something with this concept. It's all tasteful fanservice. No scenes that involve awkward as fuck attempts at sexual humor. The most in your face it's been was a femme fatale fantasy.
No, Sup Forums is desperate to pass this show off as a trainwreck when in fact there is a clear vision behind it with a lot of love for the industry and the creatives who work in it. It's more than power fantasy for the audience and it's more than the writers patting themselves on the back. They had people whom they greatly respected in mind when writing this and it shows.
Isaac Collins
Excellent post.
Nicholas Nelson
Everything about ReCreators is uninspired. There's too much poorly executed exposition, the plot is as generic as it gets, the MC is INCREDIBLY bland and even Sawano's music feels like he lacked inspiration in making it. ReCreators has all the makings of a decent action battle royale but it settles for this weird. amalgamation of LN-style exposition dumps instead and I doubt anyone will remember after it ends.
Its done worse than your average LN adaptation exposition in my eyes. Good dialogue is good when it is good dialogue(ex: Monogatari franchise). Listening Meteora ramble on for whole episode about lore mechanics in deadpan voice is NOT good dialogue, whether you judge by content or by cinematography/execution.
And in most of cases it feels pointless and reiterative. All the talking is ReCreators weakest part which is ironic because it is the biggest part of ReCreators for some reason. Recreators could have been decent action show with that premise, so it is damn sad to see the decisions made with it. Its an action show that abandoned its action in its wishes of pretending to be Fate, but, unlike Fate, it does not have interesting realistic characters, well thought out unique lore or focus on philosophy.
Eli Jones
The slow releases have become a bit of a pain but the quality is still there. Personally I'm thinking of waiting out a few more episodes before continuing to watch them.

I see it as something that's more character-driven than action-driven.
Nicholas Morgan
>character driven But we dont know shit about characters.
Mason Ross
I am okay wi th good exposition and dialogue but scriptwriting and cinematography are just not up to the task in this show. ReCreators started out as another fighting extravaganza and that is what I expect it to deliver and this episode did not. Instead of actual action stuffwe got whole episode reiterating the show's premise, retreading the old grounds already covered by previous episodes and stating the obvious("What if her author has yet to write her work! *Narrative Starts Winking at MC*").
Meta narrative and exposition is good and all but this show just does not have what it takes to execute that. Whenever this show tried to do DEEP so far, it ended up unimaginably dull instead. Let's make it clear - this is no Fate or Monogatari - its yet another LN-ish magical girlfriend show and long winded exposition is not changing that.
Kevin Wilson
>Go in thinking this will be something like a better FSN without the history hero bullshit. >Turns into an exposition dump by episode 2 after episode 1 was one of the better beginnings of the season. >Unexplored potential out the ass
Wished that they actually focused more on the creations getting used to society and trying to fit in with average citizens. Some thrown in battles would be appreciated as well to actually show how reality is slowly breaking.
Instead we have: >Altair sitting on her fancy sofa waiting for the world to slowly break, instead of trying to hurry the process. >Her entire character was reduced to a child having a tantrum because her creator couldn't handle some bullying. >Too much focus on the creators who no one really gives a fuck about. >Rival characters who don't even try looking for a fight when they have every reason to.
Nathan Wright
Nice bait, mate. The show is shit, and I can't wait for it to end.
Eli Cook
>>>Focuses on many characters, not just the "protagonist." And none of them are interesting
>No shitty tsundere/harem/love triangle bullshit (at least up to the point I've watched so far) I'm not sure why you consider this a positive its not even in the same genre to begin with
>Doesn't rely on fanservice and surprisingly little pandering for something with this concept. And at that same point it doesn't have anything to offer
>Even the recap episode was funny and entertaining. Hahahaha aren't we being meta not so funny now after two real recap specials with the seiyuu isn't it?
The people behind this show seem more in love with the concept to actually do anything interesting with it.
Jeremiah Morris
Funny you mention that.
Nathan Cox
I Admit this got me hooked like nothing before, but at the same time the disappointment is far above the time i had to drop Comet Lucifer. Because this isn't a Bait show which uses a moe character to lure you into watch it. No... those who made this Knew what they were doing, boring us to death while leaving in each episode a sparkle of hope that next ep "something cool is gonna happen" or "something is going to be revealed". I'm not going to drop this, but this sure isn't a show i'm gonna rewatch , also screencap this. the ending will leave us disappointed for the worthlessness of this whole show.
Jose Moore
This is a huge red flag for me that's why I never pick this up since every manga and anime I've seen with "Re" in the title is shit.
James Kelly
>And none of them are interesting
You can't tell me the Mamika's character development wasn't interesting. It really contrasted well with the other characters' world views. It was interesting to see how she reacted to being put in a harsher reality than the world she's always known and how she interacts with characters from harsher realities. the scene where fights Selesia and she suddenly realizes the damage she's did to the building and the fact that people actually get injured here was really good.
>I'm not sure why you consider this a positive its not even in the same genre to begin with
Because not matter what genre the anime is, the writer(s) usually find a way to shoehorn in some shitty, contrived, self-insert romantic subplot, usually involving a tsundere and/or a love triangle.
Blake Morgan
How could i not trust a face like this?
Nolan Reed
So far I feel that it hasn't really used much of its potential at all. Its wasted its time with exposition that the plot could have shown, but instead we get a character whose been mostly used to info dump instead. Character development has been almost nonexistent as well, Mamika was the only one has gotten something meaningful in that department but she got killed just as she was getting it. MC's development is t here but it just makes you hate the guy more than anything, granted he's been getting a bit better. Honestly a show like this should have its story be driven by the characters, but it hasn't done much of that, Magane has to an extent but anything she does won't be too relevant until the final fight anyway.
Kayden Hall
It's garbage, plain and simple. Now check this 7.
Jeremiah Nelson
>character-driven Except the characters are complete shit and don't qualify as anything more than walking tropes.
Carson Thomas
I mean it's not dogshit, but it's not fantastic either. It's enjoyable but not great.
it's 7/10 incarnate, occasionally stepping into 7.5/10 or 8/10 territory.

>even Sawano's music feels like he lacked inspiration in making it >even Sawano is a fucking hack and KLK is the only good soundtrack he's ever done. Every fucking song of his sounds the same, it's just insane. I've never before let a soundtrack make me dislike a show but Sawano these days manages to make it happen with everything he touches. But yeah the show is shit regardless, I'm weeks behind and can hardly get myself to continue watching it because it's not just too dumb for the somewhat interesting concept it's trying to tackle, it's also incredibly boring.
Juan Howard
Can anyone explain to me why they even kept MC around in-universe? Literally just to not make him feel bad? He had, as far as the government woman and the creations knew, nothing at all to do with any of that, and yet they put his life in danger by constantly involving him in everything. Why would they even allow some retarded high schooler to be present during all this important shit? I legitimately couldn't understand why he was in any scene without meta excuses.
James Perez
When the characters are fighting, it's awesome. Unfortunately, too many of the episodes are info dumps instead.
Hopefully, now that it's finally getting to the battle, it will at least finish on a high note.
Lincoln Morgan
More insights on Setsuna's creation, could be used or captured as hostage off screen and now he is one of the big players for the finale since he is writing in his own OC in.
Nathaniel Anderson
Because he's friends with them now. They developed this situationally and made him a part of both the creations' and the creators' lives. He's ostensibly an errand boy right now. It's not like he's eating up way more screen time than necessary just because he's the audience surrogate, and the cast is used pretty economically overall.
Tyler Young
The main villain clearly knowing him, and indirectly targeting him when meeting Selesia is a good enough motive. And then he was intercepted by one of her minions and then kidnapped by an independent villain. Pretty much no one needs more protection than him.
Michael Brown
decent show, but it could've been so much more
Tyler Lopez
You sounds like an ANN poster, just go.
Jacob Rivera
Nah, it really went to shit when they started trying really hard and not toning it down.
Right now I'm just waiting on how they will end this
Robert Bell
>too much infodumping >hitting far too many of the same points over and over while infodumping. >not enough action. >not enough character development >too many specials. >still can't give a shit about the MC.
I fell for the bait but I had to get this out.
Justin Taylor
>still can't give a shit about the MC
There is no MC though. One of the things I like about it is that the audience surrogate isn't actually the MC, meaning that there's less chunni self-insert shit than there usually is with this genre.
