>be Made in Abyss
>have a unique and imaginative concept and setting
>have the best production values of the season along with Koh Yoshinari and a Ghibli / Kimi no Na wa background artist
>consistently the highest rated anime of the season
>have youtube celebrities and kotaku shilling it
>barely anyone watching it
So this is the power of Anime Strike. Impressive.
Be Made in Abyss
This is the power of a fucking shit trap
>OP being a fucking disgusting salesfag and making an absolutely abhorrent post
Its simply not as good as the manga generals say.
>be
You need to leave.
basically this. kinda boring IMO
it has nice art and a decent story
why people have to overrate/overhate things on the internet i'll never know
Im not overhating it, I dropped it gently.
The visuals are fairly off putting outside of the gorgeous backgroudns. I honestly dont feel like the anime adds much. Most of the time the manga feels more atmospheric to be honest, unless, obviously, there are those flashy backgrounds. I honestly still think that the first 4(?) minutes are still the best part of the show.
The pacing has been slow so far, there hasn't been any big reveal or tone shift. I'm fairly certain it will be talked about a lot more as it nears the end of the season.
But oh well, even if it doesn't, who cares. Akihito isn't going to stop drawing any time soon and I'm mostly just glad for the icnreased amount of fanart and merchandise, even if modest.
...
>Sup Forums's face when the manga gets the Keijo treatment
The scenes they added in ep1 did a great job in further reinforcing its atmoshpere imo
>shitting on astolfo
>meanwhile the last thread was a trapposting shitfest
Well ...
Come on user, the manga is already free. It's a labor of love that's not stopping any time soon.
>traps are gay
>...
Please go.
Basically this. It's an okay show mostly carried by its budget and mangafag hype over what is supposed to happen in a few episodes, but right now there isn't much to it besides the pretty background art. I do expect it to eventually deliver though.
What's the matter, user?
Something wrong?
I dropped it because lolis are treated to badly by the adults in the series. They have to risk their lives to find treasures. Loli bandage is canonical.
too* bondage*
It's really slow, at this pace nothing is gonna be happening for another 3 episodes.
I pretty much only watched the first four minutes. You're right though.
traps are gay
All the people saying this show is overrated, what's a better show this season?
I partly blame the pacing desu.
You need to understand what is overrated first.
People will tell you Princess Principal or Mahoujin Guru Guru but they're slightly wrong. Any other answer is either trolling or bad taste.
A show doesnt magically become great becuase everything else is trash, user. There isnt anything, though. Personally I think that PriPri is way more enjoyable, but thats probably an unfair comparison because I know MiA plot so that takes away a lot of tension. All in all, this season is bad, but that doesnt boost MiA's rating. It jsut means it isnt as bad as the rest.
Fuck western streaming sites, the less people who use them to watch a show the better
>cute* show
>nice music
>cozy pacing
>emotional
what else do you guys want?
A less cancerous thread.
Muh Bondrewd.
I want to see and hear Riko struggling to push out a fat nasty loli shit.
I didnt mean to refer to you
I honestly feel like the show would be vastly improved if the color palette was darker. I miss the grittyness from the manga in this.
Princess Principal is better in every way.
I think everyone who calls it overrated doesn't know what happens later on. The anime can't even be judged until we know how it handles some of the darker scenes.
>darker scenes
You are basically saying it's only good because of the edge.
So will the anime reach Bondrew arc or not? It's advancing pretty slowly yet the op showed Bondrew and Idofront
...
I'm not saying that at all. I think the darker scenes will be a challenge to adapt, and that the series' quality largely depends on how the tone shift is handled.
Adults treat lolis with love and care in Abyss
>I think everyone who calls it overrated doesn't know what happens later on
I read the manga
I like it, but its not exactly masterful storytelling or anything. The story does its job, and thats about it
It's not fun if it isn't edgy or tragic. That's the anime fan way of thinking. What's the most popular Kemono Friends episode? 11. What's the most popular Madoka episode? 3. What's the most popular Mob Psycho arc? Mogami. What's the most popular Ojamajo Doremi episode? The one where a little girl dies of cancer. What's the most popular Hunter x Hunter arc? Chimera Ants.
>What's the most popular Kemono Friends episode?
Episode 12, actually. The end of episode 11 caught everyone off guard, but the absolute excitement and relief of the last episode settling the climax in the most optimistic, exciting way possible surpassed the shock of the next-to-last episode.
>I'll give her a flat hamster when she wakes up
Cracks me up every time.
There's a difference between being fun and having tragic moments. Kemono Friends was widely acclaimed as one of the funniest anime in a long while, even breaking all-time records. But what tragic well-written parts do is turn everything upside-down, obviously it's going to be remembered more if what it wants to do is precisely play with the feelings/expectations/whatever they had been setting up and seeing the characters go through rough times, because most human beings have something called "apathy" which can be a really strong feeling, especially if it's a fictional story which can do things that can't happen in real life, we can even get in the characters' mind to understand them better and create a deeper bond with them, and it's done on purpose to increase how powerful that feeling is to the reader.
What is masterful storytelling to you in manga?
>What's the most popular Hunter x Hunter arc? Chimera Ants.
And here I thought almost everybody thinks that the second half of HxH, which basically is nothing but that arc, is just goddamn horrible.
the manga is miles better
stick the original source (always if you can)
it's probably the best adaption it'll ever get though
>Madoka 3
>Not Madoka 10
>(always if you can)
I would argue that BNHA anime, especialy its second season, is better than the original manga.
It doesn't pander to either otaku or normalfags. Though despite that I think it's still selling relatively well?
Not even close but the gap is smaller with the second season.
Golden Age arc in Berserk
There is not a single statement in that post that is not factually incorrect or just dumb as fuck.
Good job.
The anime for BnHA, and especially the second season indeed, is a WAY better experience all the time, and it's not an exception, there's a lot of adaptations that do a better job at representing everything than the original source, but MiA isn't one of them.
>just wait until we enter the abyss they said
>sales will skyrocket like they did with madoka episode 3 they said
>they'll make enough money to some day adapt boneicio del guro they said
>stop caring if your anime is popular they say now
>kill yourself they tell me
>at least 8 feet off the ground for the noose they said
its not just about being edgy or tragic all the time you have to set it up
>Not even close
How so?
>the second season
Improves on several fights (Deku vs Todoroki being the prime example) and adds extra material that is actually good and relevant as opposed to being just filler.
Did anyone else notice the upside-down person the big guy's clothes? (Ch.42 P.23 Bottom right panel)
>caring about the anime sales
The manga's sales have increased 5 times over the ones a couple months ago, which is huge. And they obviously aren't doing this for money, all the staff seemed like huge fans of the series, and they barely put any budget into advertising. It's an adaptation being done out of love for the series.
So this was you? How long did you have to wait down there, and how did you know she would eventually arrive?
It's been a very pleasant last couple weeks.
The storyboarding for BnHA is subpar, it features some of Umakoshi's blandest work, Yutaku Nakamura's cuts are by the numbers and uninteresting and the anime doesn't get Horikoshi's villain designs well enough.
The nips aren't exploring the potential of foreign fans.
I dont know man I dropped the manga when the loli break her arm
Did they get to the bottom already? It didnt manage to grab me as much as I expected it would I dont really care whats in the abyss.
I don't watch edgy shit
Thats because the good part hasn't even begun
Is it on bluray subbed yet? I've been waiting so long.
So what happens
Guidebooks 1-5 are out and there are links to scans of the books. Six is out soon I think.
I'm not watching it because its fanbase is burning garbage.
Besides IT'S CUTESY BUT IT'S ACTUALLY GRIMDARK is overplayed to me.
Oh my.
fun and cute things. Like euthanasia
>IT'S CUTESY BUT IT'S ACTUALLY GRIMDARK
it's literally not this, I have to assume you at least saw episode 1 to be in this thread, which leads me to believe that you can't believe this yourself
It's a well executed story in a well constructed setting. I'd say that's some good storytelling, more than simply "doing its job".
We won't even get to the good part at the pace the anime is going.
The anime is good and it's selling more manga. What more do you need? Not every anime needs to be the #1 Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the Season. Besides, it's not like it's possible to dethrone The King, Who Reigns Over All Seasons For all Time.
I mean in the sense that it has a cutesy artstyle to pair and contrast with its dark setting.
I've just seen that done to death.
I can't believe Kaban is dead.
>it's for selling more manga
It's a free web manga, this is a labor of love.
Its probably for the best nobody watches it, assuming the anime stays true to the manga, I dont think the general populace wants to watch loli gore and weird fetish stuff.
It's funny, because she was actually dead. That was such a fucking surprise. Way too much impact in such a lighthearted show.
>done to death
Personally, I'm more concerned with how well executed/constructed a story is than with how "unique" or "creative" it is.
I'll give it a watch right now.
What's so dark about it? Have you just seen manga pages and attribute them to the anime somehow? The anime's tone is played very straight.
Princess principal and Magic Circle Guruguru are more enjoyable.
Sup Forums doesn't talk about good anime.
Who are worse the anons crying about too many threads or the anons crying about sales?
Adaptations never deserve to be AotS.
Who's doing the best subs for this, looking to pick it up.
Amazon
>>barely anyone watching it
I'm watching it, but I never come to the threads due to spoilers.
As you can see, I'm not venturing into this thread any further than the OP.
Just read the manga, don't be a ginormous faggot.
It's better than the anime.
Probably the fact that they keep hiding the loli nipples while showing the shota nipples.
>It's a free web manga, this is a labor of love.
Except it isn't? They offer the first and newest chapter(s) as free samples and then try to sell books and subscriptions for the full thing. It's the same business model as pretty much every other online publisher and there's nothing special about about MiA in that regard.
I mean, I'm sure the author himself loves working on it but for everyone else involved it's a business like any other and they definitely want you to buy those books.
They are, the problem is that they partnered with one of the two retarded streaming sites
Amazon has two pay walls to watch it and they are together more expensive than the competition
Nobody is gonna sign in for a Amazon Prime subscription, then get a Amazon Anime Strike sub on top of that to watch this show when Nyaa is fucking free and easier to work than amazon and their players/apps
Had this show be on CR every one would be all over it
It's because the source material is literal pedobait.
Normies like anime that's either intentionally too ridiculous to be taken seriously or very serious with mature themes.
Made in Abyss is trying to be a serious series while having pedo undertones all over the place, making it seem unintentionally ridiculous and also creepy.
