Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.

no it doesnt

It was never explained what Clannad meant, but I did get the impression it was the name of the play they performed at school.

Japs just love foreign words even thought they don't know what they mean.

Also Ryou means best girl

clannad is posercore

My nigga

>Ryou
Uh, I meant Kyou. W-what an odd slip.

It's the name of an Irish family band and Jun Maeda thought that it meant family in Irish, which it doesn't (family in Irish is "clann"). So the intended name of the show is "family." It's not the name of the play.

Has Clannad aged well?

It also means forced drama.

People like this show? I thought people hate this show

Ohana means family.

It's my favorite anime.

>in Irish

Wtf, I thought they spoke English. Is this some slurred drunk way of saying family?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_language

why did it have to be about the worst girl

Pic unrelated?

I mean why did it have to be about Nagisa

...

Nagisa's not that bad though. Not with Ryou or Fuuko existing.

Best girl got her own VN so it's okay.

Yes, it's exactly as terrible as it was when it aired.

Dying is not okay.

It fits the message of the story. It's sad but the point of the game is to be able to keep going forward even in such situations, because living is a good thing. Even though Tomoya died, Tomoyo gained the "treasure of life" and found a reason to keep living and appreciate the beauty of the world.

Yes, it's exactly as amazing as it was when it aired.

Still best Key anime although that's not hard, only LB Refrain comes close.

LB is a joke

The show doesn't do justice to the vn

Name a better one then.

Not the guy you're talking to, but I'd rank things something like this, regarding Key shows (excluding Toei adaptations)

Clannad After Story > Kanon > Little Busters Refrain > Clannad > Little Busters > Angel Beats > Air > Planetarian > Charlotte > Rewrite

Forgot something. The end should be
Rewrite S2 = Planetarian (can't decide here) > Charlotte > Rewrite

Air was far better than both Kanon and Angel Beats

>Planetarian isn't his favourite Key

I disagree. The show rushed through the first two routes and never explained the supernatural aspects in a clear enough way, especially the curse on Misuzu. I enjoyed the section that takes place in medieval Japan but goddamn does it throw a wrench into things. I didn't really like the VN that much either, to be honest.

>planetarian that low
Begone

The VN is one of my favorites but the anime isn't as good. The story's is the same, but I thought it lost the somber atmosphere that the VN had, and made some cuts in bad places, like trimming the planetarium presentation.

No Key anime has ever explained the supernatural aspects in a clear way

If you're actually trying to understand the supernatural part then you're watching it wrong

Also the medieval portion was the worst part

Stop liking what I don't like

I have been putting off Kanon so maybe I'll change it whenever I watch it.
Clannad AS > LB Refrain > Clannad > Angel Beats > Planetarian > Air > Rewrite S1 & S2 > Charlotte

Wrong. The planetarian presentation was really well done.

Have you faggots found your own Nagisa yet?

You don't get my complaint. I'll use an example. In the Air VN when Yukito heals Kano it actually explains what the fuck he's doing and how his power relates to it. It doesn't give you some systematic explanation of it but you understand what happened to a degree despite it being myserious. In the show he just puts his hand over her and magic, or something.

> Planetarian > LB > Air
Forgot about LB S1

In the VN it gave me a real sense of wonderment about space and in the anime I didn't feel much at all. It didn't even mention Laika.

Yeah, make sure to watch Kanon. It's a very good adaptation.

>mfw I realize I don't have an autistic wife

How didn't you get that from the anime? With the world spinning, the music and its timing, the mc looking so intently at yumemi like he'd finally remembered what wonderment was. It was great.
I feel bad for you if you didn't get that feeling.

Sure, I'll save it to restore my faith on Key after their next shitty anime original flops again.

Why is Sunohara so much better than other characters like him?

I think the difference is that the anime didn't give you a clear enough sense of contrast with the dystopian state of the world. It doesn't mention that the sky is permanently covered by clouds and that people are unable to see the stars, for example.
>I feel bad for you if you didn't get that feeling.
I got it in the game, so I think I'll be okay.

God tier VA

He's bro as fuck

OVAs are good. Movie is shit..

I guess we were looking for different things out of that scene.

Eh, maybe so. Don't get me wrong, though, I did like the anime. The only Key-related anime I actually disliked was Charlotte.

Would you Sunohara?

That episode felt extremely K-On
