Through the ages we've seen that the greatest minds had always a degree of mysticism in the way the interpret the world. From a pure rational point of view, specially nowadays with modern science, there isn't really a reason for a skeptic to believe in God. But, there has been many cases recently of smart atheist becoming born again Christians. Sometimes the argument they give is reading the sacred texts and comparing it to the world and making it fit. This comparison doesn't work with cereals because there's no such interpretation of them. If you can't derive any truth from the Bible your answer is simply: no. All this fedora bullshit provides no answer, since the fucking majority of holy man's have read the text and believes it to be truth. There's no way to prove that they're consciously scamming people (specially mainstream ones that relies on donations and can't force you).
