How do you think Toyo is going to handle the ToP? I'm a bit worried about the pacing and how he's going to show off all these fights since it's monthly and all.

I want to see him keep all of the same characters from Toei's adaptations but actually write and draw them each being relevant and doing interesting things. I'd like to see Toyo have fights between other universes and actually drawing them well. I also want to see his take on Freeza's plot to overthrow Zeno, and how he handles Shaggy smirking after U9 gets deleted.

I could see it taking a year, especially if he does not skip the Zen exhibition matches. The actual tournament itself will take a long time. How he is going to U9 getting erased will be interesting. Perhaps Niggrishi won't be under utilized?

I have a feeling he'll change the format of it, so it won't be a royal rumble type of thing. Based on the panel that was shown during the teaser of the anime, the beginning is already very different.

That's one of the problems with the anime version. Check the previous tournaments in the original manga, you only get about 7 relevant fights, every other fight is off screen because fodder is just fodder, even if its design is a nice mecha or a DQ monster.
Toyo must keep the focus on the main fights, no more.

This one is my favorite DBS fight, even counting anime and movies. Best fight since Goku vs Freeza in Namek.

This is not previous tournaments. 80 fighters is by far the largest in Dragon Ball history. The 6 universes that aren't Universe 7 or 6 have combined for a whopping 2 ringouts.

It would have been good, it's the same as the manga (a more consistent option) and it's like the classic SS. As easy as show Goku/Vegeta's eyes going red when they are fighting god tier enemies and you could say "hey they are using god ki now, unlike they did against Cabba, Frost, etc".

You are making a mistake: that's just the name of the CCA ability.

Super Saiyan Rage's Trunks ability is "Single Strike of Hope", a Beerus card has "Terrifying God of Destruction", a Pan card has "Rage of a Maiden".

The important part is the BACK of the card: under the name of the character there is the name of the transformation state. The back of the cards with the "Sayan that surpassed God" CCA all have "Normal" form.

Trunks's has "Super Sayan Ikari"
