Tanoshii Muumin Ikka, OG Finnish version.

Naruto, but this show is what actually started making me watch anime in general

Ghost in The Shell

Dragonball Z though I didn't know it was anime at the time. Inuyasha was the first thing I watched that I knew was anime.

Science Ninja Team Gatchaman

Naruto
Then after that I watched FMA when I was ten but I got spooked by the scene where scar killed a guy

First one I finished was Hitman Reborn

Captain Tsubasa. But the first anime I watched and finished was Gundam SEED.

Boruto

NGE

Swan Lake. Watched it in first grade at 7 years old

Shana.

death note

youtube.com/watch?v=-mgSbk9buLM

3 sleepless nights of NGE.

this guy has a point, I definitely watched DBZ or Pokemon first but didn't think of it as "anime" just more cartoons. I also used to watch... I actually don't remember its name, the one with the magical pegasus/unicorn warriors? Saint something? I loved Sailor Moon too.

First show I watched that I specifically thought "this is anime, this is from japan in japanese" was probably Naruto? I really can't recall when I made that switch from considering shows cartoons to anime.

Pokemon and Digimon technically, but I had no idea they were any different from the other cartoon shows I watched. Not much later I watched some Patlabor in a kid's channel. I think it was Fox Kids.

It was only in highschool when my friends introduced me to Naruto. My buddy lent me a CD-R with the first season. They were in RMVB format. After that they introduced me to more entry-level shows such as Elfen Lied, Chobits and Hellsing. I had less than 15 shows under my belt by the time I found Sup Forums and started watching seasonal stuff with the board. Now I am just short of 500.

For most people in my generation it was the same. Everyone started with those shows and then either lost interest or moved on to become fully-fledged weebs.

Same thing for Visual Novels. Started with Yume Miru Kusuru, then moved on to Katawa Shoujo(the demo), Fate/Stay Night, and Ever 17. The rest is history.

It's this
Where are you from? I'm positive you either speak Italian, Spanish or Portuguese

Sword Art Online showed me how sugoi the Japanese Animes were.

The one that I was "fully aware" that I was watching anime was Haruhi, but really it was minus the OG part

First anime I went out of my way to watch.

On TV I don't remember. Probably something like Dragon Ball or Pokemon.

The first one I watched outside of broadcast television was Yu Yu Hakusho from a disk a friend of my brother hooked us up with.

The first one I went after on the internet on my own back in the day was probably Golden Boy, but maybe it could have been Love Hina.

Captain Tsubasa in the early 90s because l'm not a fucking american that only got into anime when it became shit.

Captain Harlock or UFO Robot Grendizer, I guess.

How old are you user?

8/8 made me reply

It was either DBZ or Sailor Moon. They both used to play on Cartoon Network when I was a kid, I just don't remember which one I saw first.

to old to be here

fuck my life

iM pReTtY sUrE iT wAs OnE pIeCe

Digimon, but I just watched that as a kid like every other kid in my class. One Piece was the first show I went out of my way to watch.

The YKK OVAs, not even sure how i came across them. It might have been through sushichan

Hayate no Gotoku
I started watching anime with Hayate S1 and was a Mariafag till the manga ended. The manga was a shitshow but I always kept myself updated just for a chance to see my waifu in it. And then the manga ended with only Hayate and Nagi. Fuck you Hata.

Nice!

Kill la kill, binged all of it in 2013

Second was Code Geass

Without knowing it was an anime, pokemon. With knowing it was an anime, Highschool DxD. I didnt actually discover anime for a while

Corrector Yui

Dogtanian and the 3 muskehounds

Code Geass

...

...

INITIAL D

I only liked the first stage but I watched it all in a few nights, followed closely by all of NGE. Sailor Moon and Cowboy Bebop are next but I need to digest Eva or something

DBZ

Midori no Hibi. I would say Super Book because I think the church I was made to go to had VHSes of it but I'm not certain on that.

Tanoshii Moomin Ikka, DBZ, Magic Knight Rayearth, Pokémon.

Doraemon maybe? I also remember some anime with a wolf and a one-eyed flying monster thing. I think there might have been a dinosaur of some sort dying while standing. It's been near 20 years since I've seen anything about it and I don't think I'll ever see it again.

I never got the name. It was some 90's mecha anime where the pilots would frequently be tentacle raped inside their cockpit.

Kindergarten, Demon Lord Dante

First Fansubbed anime was Love HIna

Definitely Pokemon, Digimon, and DBZ. I watched DBZ religiously and rented just about every tape Blockbuster had on the franchise, and I still have a Red Ribbon saga tape sitting around at home somewhere. Tuned into Pokemon daily, still have my Pikachu gameboy somewhere. Digimon World on the Playstation was my childhood, so I got my dad to get a bunch of ripped DVD compilations of Adventure 1 & 2 as well as Tamers. Watched shit like YYH and Cowboy Bebop on TV whenever I happened to notice later on. Didn't think about what anime was until as late as Naruto showing up on Cartoon Network, specifically because of the network's sudden marketing of the show and the ad's pronunciation of the name vs. how it was said in the show.

The first anime I went out of my way to watch was FMA. After that, early Youtube was my friend for a bunch of garbage I don't remember up until high school. I typed up all this less as an answer to this thread and more because it was fun remembering what I did as a kid.

Angewomon is best girl.

Taiyou no ko Esteban and Ie naki ko. Patrician anime.

Pokemon doesn't count, so it was CCS. She was my first waifu and I loved every fucking second of that show. I remember eating in like 5 minutes just so I could go up to my room and watch it.

youtube.com/watch?v=YjZwtGa2eZw

Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z. I used to watch them when I got home from school.

The one that got me into anime as a hobby was Fullmetal Alchemist, though.

Negima

Candy Candy.

Not too proud tot say this but Vampire Knight.

Pokemon on Fox Kids, Followed by Princess Mononoke on VHS. Don't you people have to be 18 to use this website?

DBZ

Really? No Speed Racer?

Never aired in my country

Fate/stay night 2006. Tsukihime was my first VN.

...

Pokemon, and yeah I watched it as an anime and not on TV.

I watched a bit flipping channels. That's about it.

Nice

First I saw was pic related.

Who here remembers Sailor Moon on Cartoon Express?

Dragon ball z unconsciously, sakura card captor consciously

Project A-ko, on fansubbed VHS.

It technically was either DBZ or Naruto, but I never liked them or watched voluntarily. And there were the Miyazaki movies on TV.

The first anime I found by myself and watched was Black Lagoon... or Girls und Panzer.

Probably DBZ but outside of Toonami the first anime I ever sat down and watched because I knew it was anime was Deen/Stay Night when I was 11

And boy when I finished it and found out it was based off of a porn game I spent pretty much the rest of the day masturbating to as many of the cgs as I could find

Sailor Moon or DBZ in the late 90s on Toonami, it's been so long I can't remember which.

pokemon
but the first series i completed was probably 'girls bravo'

the music hurts my heart

On TV was Dragon Ball (Kid Goku)
Searching by myself (Love Hina)

sailor moon ?

Dr Slump for me.
And Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors.

if you dont count the moomin and pokemon memes

princess lover.

chuuni

Doraemon Cantonese dub

my n word

fuck hata i thought he was setting us all up for a maria ending

...

The brought a bunch of cartoons over in the 80's but i didnt think of them as anime or even knew they were from japan. The first thing i remember is watching Vampire Hunter D on the original sci-fi channel back in 1993.

Watamote, saw her posted a lot on Sup Forums and on Sup Forums and decided to visit Sup Forums too. You had a lot of Attack on Titan threads back then and I liked the tight white pants Mikasa and Annie wore, some Free hate with nice shitposting... and then came Kill la Kill, Non Non Biyori and Valkyria Romance and I decided to stay here. It was more comfortable here than in Man of Steel or Dragon's Crown threads.

My first non-normie (from local tv) was Love Hina.

are you 10 ?

Moomin when I was young.
Cowboy Bebop was when I "started"

Voltron or something similar.

I must've been 4 or so. No idea what it was. You guys in your 30's are similar, so don't lie.

No but I'm on the spectrum.

Voltron

>normie
Fuck off, crossboarder.

Second.

Voltron technically. The first one I sought out that wasn't on Cartoon Network was Rosario Vampire, and i watched it dubbed. Turns out that was a very poor choice all around.

Probably Pokemon and Digimon as my first
but the first anime i did watch as an anime would be Bleach and Zero no Tsukaima

First anime ever: My Neighbor Totoro
First anime on TV: Probably Pokemon or DBZ
First anime I actively searched out: Excel Saga

that of the worst kind

based

I watched the first five episodes of Daphne in the Brilliant Blue while stumbling across youtube.

protip: don't try to google "Dorothée", it would ruin your childhood memories

Cardcaptor sakura
