Dekomori really is a big part of what made this show work. Her playful antagonism adds much of the humor without which the show would have been largely pointless melodrama.

I don't get why people seem to think S2 was so much worse than S1. I'm guessing it just gets on people's nerves that Yuuta and Rikka still didn't kiss properly, but hey that's what the movie can fix r-right?

Imo S2 was almost as good as S1, the comedy and drama were on par with S1. Character development wasn't that great though, most of that happened in S1. However, Shichimiya caused me the same phenomenon that Nibu and Deko did in S1, as I ended up liking her. I first wasn't very fond of her – she was kind of a rival after all, and a bit annoying too – but I really liked how she turned out not to be a complete bitch. She went through the pain of letting Rikka have Yuuta and even helped her in their relationship with the other girls.

No kiss scene and Isshiki being left out were pretty much the only bad things about S2 for me, otherwise it was solid

eh, no kiss scene wasn't a problem for me really. But I suspect that it's mostly annoying for people who waited two years for the next season just for "nothing". again I just binged both Seasons later so it wasn't that big of a proboem though I ofc hope it would've happent
