Also this looks like it could have a very similar appeal to Kemono Friends and maybe the production of both had influence on each other to some extent.
They are both set in what appear to be post-apocalyptic, empty worlds, with an intriguing setting/word view and cute characters and a relaxing atmosphere. Although the way in which the station master seems to be relaxing is more in the vein of YKK or Aria..

That was an interesting short video. A whispering ghost manta is an unusual companion, but it was nice. The setting was pretty damn cool too. If season 2 is animated this well while keeping the overall art style, that'd be amazing.
