>Darker than Black was 10 years ago >Kaiji S2 was 6 years ago >Guilty Crown was 6 years ago >Psycho-Pass was 5 years ago
Time flies and it hurts. What other shows did you watch with Sup Forums as it aired? And how shocked are you that it's been so many years since then? The ones I listed feel like yesterday.
John Gutierrez
>Madoka was 6 years ago
Parker Jenkins
For whatever reason Guilty crown feels like yesterday to me. The other don't though, I remember them as being from a while ago. I think it's in some way because of that cripple pasta.
Mason Morgan
And I still remember how we managed to fill 700+ thread (remember, bump limit was 200 at the time).
And when last episode aired, whole thread filled in within 5 minutes, after which Sup Forums crashed.
Adam Ross
MORNING RESCUE Also that big ass tsunami that delayed Madoka for like a month RIGHT AFTER Mami got decapitated
Camden Taylor
There was also the earthquake after episode 10
Christian Green
You couldn't have done a better job of outing yourself as the redditor to be honest.
Ethan Williams
He is talking about the earthquake. There was no problem after episode 3.
Only delay was after episode 10 with the 2011 earthquake/tsunami.
Asher Collins
>Samurai flamenco was 3 years ago >VVV was 3 years ago Those were the last times we had a good ride that was actually Sup Forums not Sup Forums or other cancer taking over making it a fake hype. You could could VDM but it wasn't as much as the others.
Grayson Gomez
I have never even visited reddit so your radar must be broken. Also, nice damage control
Jose Bailey
Maybe Geass will bring the good times back, but for all the shows that have been really fun to watch with Sup Forums I don't feel like any of them have absolutely gripped the entire board the way it sometimes felt.
Fuck's sake the closest thing I can think of is the Re;Zero shitstorm and besides being a nauseating clusterfuck of awful writing and boring direction it wasn't even anime original. What's left? LWA, PriPri? I don't believe the industry is dying for a second with how integrated in mobage and triple-dipping manga/ln profits everything has become... but it feels like exciting new IPs are heading to anime last of all right now.
Oliver Butler
>Mentioning Guilty Crown as though it holds some importance
Adrian Turner
Being a redditor is a state of mind, one does not have to visit reddit at all. Anyone who is not a newfag would know that. This completely ignores the fact that you obviously don't know about the popularity of both of these shows when they aired. Shit up some other thread.
Adrian Reed
I don't know, i remember No Game No Life being quite the hype train on Sup Forums when it started.
Juan Jenkins
Memory fails me. I was indeed referring to the episode 10 tsunami.
Lucas Gutierrez
>Re;Zero shitstorm That was absolutely not Sup Forums hyping that.
Justin Butler
SamFlam and VVV were four years ago, though.
Cameron Nelson
All I remember from those threads is people bitching about how dumb the show is because there's no tension. That seemed more like a show that was only fun during the livestream threads.
Zachary Scott
Oh god you're right.
Samuel Ward
>mobile suit gundam was 38 years ago
Owen Russell
>What other shows did you watch with Sup Forums as it aired? Code Geass Season 1 and R2. It had all forms of shitstorms that the old Sup Forums system allowed. - Threads had no image limit. - No captcha. - Replies weren't highlighted. - Same images could be spammed to death. - No captcha allowed at least 10 shameless hotlink advertisings per thread. All this "liberty" could make reactions towards a show way bigger than its possible today, fuck, sometimes there 20 Code Geass threads going at the same fucking time.
The new system today definitely owes its reason for existing due Sup Forums's real pedophilia cases and Sup Forums's board breaking flood of Code Geass threads.
Cameron Edwards
Out of that list I had the most fun with Psycho Pass and Guilty Crown. The threads were great, funny, original and full of good discussion and original content. What hits me most is that Psycho Pass really is five years ago now, which is crazy. I remember the threads so well, shitting on the QUALITY, dismissing Makishima as a shit villain, everyone adoring Tsunemori, hyper oats.
Like my post says, it's more about the enjoyment of watching a series with Sup Forums. Guilty Crown was a trainwreck of an anime, but watching it along with Sup Forums was a great experience.
Jaxon Kelly
Stop trying this hard, the shows were reddit cancer and only redditors reminisce about them. See you in the next thread, I hope it's marginally better.
Cameron White
>Psycho-Pass was 5 years ago STOP I WANT SEASON TWO GODDAMIT
Leo Reed
>sometimes there 20 Code Geass threads going at the same fucking time. Probably way more. We had 20 threads for semi-recent KyoAni threads, like Chuunibyuu.
Jaxson Jones
Yeah, exactly why it's so disappointing to think that it's one of the most recent things to come to mind. At least this thread reminded me that SamFlam and Valvrave existed.
Kevin King
We're reminiscing about watching these shows with Sup Forums. The way you're reacting is why we know you're a newfag.
Benjamin Hall
Alright my man, whatever you gotta tell yourself in order to feel like you're part of the board.
Jacob Lopez
>All I remember from those threads is people bitching about how dumb the show is because there's no tension That started happening towards the end of the series and was just a bunch of retarded false flaggers trying (and succeeding) in making Sup Forums hate it by making it into a boogeyman of "reddit the anime". Though, before that happened, a lot of people seemed to have actually love it. Though half of that was because Shiro was an actual loli and not a typical moeblob look alike.
Ayden Butler
Tripfag a shit, news at 11
Brandon Rogers
That's not a tripfag.
Chase Martinez
I don't remember too much love for it. Maybe I misremember.
Brandon Perry
Code Geass really was one of the best rides ever. So was Lucky Star and even Haruhi Suzumiya.
Anime originals tend to be great to watch with Sup Forums regardless of quality because everyone is clueless, there's no spoilers. Even manga adaptions back then usually went off the faithfula daption rails fairly quickly. Nowadays with light novels you might as well just read those instead, the anime are just commercials and more likely than not they'll never catch up to the novels.
Henry Martin
>Guilty Crown
John Nelson
Watching Kaiji with Sup Forums was bittersweet torture, but when that ball finally fucking went in...I don't think I'll ever get that feeling again.
Any recent anime that got the whole of Sup Forums involved? I'm not on Sup Forums as much as I used to be, but I miss watching particular shows as a community. I'm probably wrong but it feel like there haven't been many "original" anime like DtB, Psycho-Pass and Guilty Crown. I want another original project where nobody knows what's going to happen.
Austin Roberts
>and besides being a nauseating clusterfuck of awful writing and boring direction I never understood this criticism. Can you actually tell me what was so bad about it, you know, give me some examples?
Jayden Williams
I'm always glad best girl made it into the image.
Jose Cox
>Kaiji S2 was 6 years ago It honestly feels like it was longer ago.
Matthew Ward
>I don't remember too much love for it It was their, again, just buried underneath a shit ton of false flags. Hell, the one thing that blew up the most was the Rock Paper Scissors game.
Jeremiah Gutierrez
This was a wild ride. JUZOBOYS U Z O B O Y S
Cameron Rogers
>I want another original project where nobody knows what's going to happen Just wait until trigger makes another series that isn't little witch.
Angel Collins
Typically it's sunrise that takes Sup Forums for a ride. Speaking of which, CG S3 is somewhat around the corner.
Thomas Ortiz
Fucking found image I was looking for.
I pity anyone who didn't have chance to live through those glorious times!
Jordan Garcia
>Guilty Crown was 6 years ago For some reason this one really hurts and I didn't even like the show.
Gabriel Reed
I was forced to take a break from Sup Forums exactly during that time. The worst part was hearing about the earthquake and having no idea how bad the damage was to anime and manga.
Robert Diaz
I'm personally not into Trigger's work. I didn't really enjoy Kill la Kill or Little Witch Academia. Who knows though, I might like their next outing, it's a good studio, and their stuff is always popular on Sup Forums.
>Speaking of which, CG S3 is somewhat around the corner. That'll definitely be a big event on here.
Still, I just hope something original will get produced soon. Original series are always so much more fun because it's not based on a manga a LN so you have no idea where it's going, which makes discussions so much more fun.
Hunter Roberts
Trigger is a terrible company. They have made nothing good.
Tyler Anderson
>I pity anyone who didn't have chance to live through those glorious times! Madokafags are still no.1 disgusting shitposters and nothing can top them. 2011 had the worst influx of newfags
David Butler
>2011 had the worst influx of newfags No, that was 07/08. 2011 did have growth, but nothing compared to what had happened before.
Carter Nguyen
I watched this because I started browsing Sup Forums and I had never seen a board so united in anger about a fictional character. Rossiu truly pulled the most dick move of dick moves.
Anthony Peterson
No. That is because of Rebellion.
Gavin Martin
You might want to go watch it just to experience it yourself. When you get to the arc-sized detour of having a shounen battle with a flying whale you might see what I mean, but before that there's the author springing the queen selection onto the plot as a major point without doing any worldbuilding beforehand, leading to the contestants all being caricatures and archetypes of what might have been characters. This might have been okay if they were fleshed out after the fact, but by the point of the anime ending one of them has already 'died' off screen and the others are more or less on MC's team until drama requires that they are not. Before that, the amount to which characters fluctuate from one episode to the next may just be a result of extreme compression from one medium to the other, but it's handled incredibly poorly and weighs the anime down with this sense that Subaru is just doing what the fuck ever this week, any sense of progression or development of his character is lost as he quotes Touma near verbatim one week, gets variably proud of his weakness the next, and spends the one after sulking about the same detail.
Petelgeuse is everything wrong with Japan's understanding of villains and the way you can tell it wasn't Sup Forums shilling for Re;Zero is the number of people jerking off to what a 'great and refreshing' villain he was.
Christian Gonzalez
I'm still waiting for a male protag that's as enjoyable to watch as Hei
Julian Cook
>haruhi was 8 years ago
Bentley Powell
What i gathered from your whole entire post >I DON'T LIKE IT, SO NO ONE ELSE SHOULD EITHER, AND EVERYONE WHO DOES JUST WAS NEVER AN Sup Forums USER TO BEGIN WITH!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Fuck off and go suck more brony dick.
Jackson Lopez
>2011 had the worst influx of newfags Nothing comes close to 16/17 MAGA normie invasion from r/the_donald. If you see post like "lmao wtf are how can you be virgin after 16" or various halo/cod nostalgia threads(Sup Forums) then it's 99% reddit fag. Sup Forums wasn't affected much by this because most of the normies don't care/like anime. But boy oh boy don't you dare to post anime picture outside of Sup Forums you'll get shittion of GB2A WEEB WE RUN THIS SITE.
Caleb Jenkins
>normie It's normalfag on Sup Forums. But yeah, we were probably lucky by how much we withheld the onslaught of the newfags. It's the cutdown of mod-power that really got us.
Alexander Hughes
If that's everything you gathered from that post then I'm really really sorry. Your disability must be really hard on your parents.
Tyler Gonzalez
Do you wanna guess on how i know you're one of those "MAGA" retards, or at least came to Sup Forums and or Sup Forums from the last two years?
Evan Howard
4 years actually, and 6 years total on aibs total(came here from my local imageboard when it got shut down)
Andrew Gomez
Again fuck off and go suck more brony dick.
Colton Myers
Uh oh! Didn't think there were actually examples of your top 10 saddest anime pick having faults, did you?
Kayden Clark
2011 was best year.
Angel Lee
>normie You're part of the problem faggot.
Ethan Nelson
With the current state of Sup Forums, I doubt a "shitstorm" like the days of old can be achieved. Sure, some people might try to replicate having the front page loaded with pictures of a certain show, but I'm sure as hell the moderation staff will start banning any duplicate threads. And speaking of the front page, most people rarely use it anymore because now the catalog is the go-to page for most people, that's usually people who post in a single general and never bother lurking outside of it. But be my guest and try, see how long until mods start enforcing a general for any given "shitstorm" that may happen, that is if they let it happen at all.
Nolan Thomas
>watch lots of anime >never browse Sup Forums >be a pretty hard poltard for years >go on /fit/ >get told to go "back" to Sup Forums after making an anime related thread >check Sup Forums out >all of these guys really liked/disliked the shows I watched and watched them together and freaked out together >tfw missed out all of it what anime are you all going to get excited about next Sup Forums?
Henry Barnes
That Azusa image refers to Komeiji, right?
Noah Young
I never said that, but every single one of his points came straight from a brony.
Alexander Jenkins
DBS still has plenty of threads.
Juan Russell
Dragonball is on Japanese TV again, but Sup Forums is no longer talking about hiding their power levels.
What a weird time in which to live.
At least ronery threads went to /jp/, then came back, then we got waifus thanks to the lessons of glorious Area Eleven. Speaking of which, Code Geass season 2 happened, and now we're getting... Code Geass season 3? And there's a FLCL sequel in the works? And a sequel to that? And JJBA finally got a good adaptation? Are we living in the future?
Jacob Sanchez
The good ones.
Kayden Martinez
>madokafags are a bunch of idiots who got on Sup Forums during 2011 and they feel like oldfags now You got on boat on the same year redditors started flocking in here. You're no better than them.
Gavin Wilson
Ah, fun times.
Levi Cook
>DTB was 10 years ago
And those stupid fucks at BONES only care about shitty Eureka 7 remake movies. For fuck's sake they're doing a new Sword of the Stranger project for its 10th anniversary. Why the fuck do we need more of that when the original movie was good enough?
Liam Evans
I am that poster, chucklefuck. I didn't want to bring your learning disability into this like that other user did but I'm thinking I agree with his diagnosis. You got anything besides Brony?
Cooper Murphy
Now now, they did make Space Dandy
Charles Murphy
neo Sup Forums is shit
Luke Hill
Sam flam ride was wilder.
Wyatt Ward
So madolards are considered oldfags now? And I'm supposed to laud their shitshow as the biggest thing since haruhi?
Are they THIS fucking deluded?
Isaac Watson
Again, fuck off back to sucking brony dicks on reddit.
Alexander Parker
I don't know for sure, but somewhere in September or October Overlord S2 and a new tome(actually, two) of the light novel would be released. Hopefully, our resident LN translator would pick up this project as he did before. Last time it happened, he had been releasing a moderate-sized piece of the LN every day at the fixed time. I can't remember when we had less than two threads going over bumplimit every day. Average would probably be three. It's certainly not the over-the-top hype, but that's something.
Charles Martin
>normie It's so painfully obvious when someone is a normalfag.
Aiden Reyes
Overlord is about the only thing I'm excited about too.
I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised by something this Fall season. I've dropped pretty much everything this summer.
Austin Gomez
Are the DBS generals the worst generals we have had? They are absolute cancer.
Owen Collins
>I pity anyone who didn't have chance to live through those glorious times! I don't. Every thread is shallow in comparison now. I will never relive the intensity of Madoka, I will never have that free time, I will never be part of a pure extension of my hobby with no regret about the time I've spent. That's called a one time namefag.
Logan Taylor
This and Mayoiga were the best meme factories in 2016.
Austin Hughes
>accelspammer Remember when he went back and saved the lolis?for some years
Blake Rivera
Code Gayass is far more important wen it comes to that
Ethan Reed
...it did get a second season, and it was shit.
Jeremiah Ward
>hi10p >that weird ass dyson fan from korean zombie desk car Im pretty sure Fast Wheels was 2012 though
Xavier Diaz
There is no neo - Sup Forums
Chase Davis
El Melon was late 2011.
Lincoln Reyes
Which is why he's denying its existence.
I enjoyed the 2nd season of Psycho-Pass though. Sure, it wasn't as good as the original but it was still a very enjoyable police procedural anime with dystopian themes, even if the plot was a bit bad.
We need more police procedural anime.
Charles James
what happened to daiz anyway
Bentley Allen
Glad we had Samflam while the Sup Forumsermin were forcing their dumb “hype train” with Kill la Kill.
