If i remember correctly they foreshadowed something about the north and we never got to see the demon emperor either.

Isn't the North supposed to be an even bigger threat than the humans? Don't think they'd leave that unresolved.

I don't think it's a bigger threat at the moment, but for a long time it was and it would probably still be a bad idea to pull forces to help.

I really don't know if the series will continue after the humans, but there's definitely a lot left to be explored if it does.
