Religious groups across Iceland are outraged as a new bill has been put into parliament that will ban circumcision for non medical purposes. A 6 year prison sentence will be put in place for people that follow through with the practice regardless. The main people who are outraged at this bill are Jewish and Muslim communities. Of all of icelands population 250 are jews amd 1.5k are Muslims. People are seeing this bill as a ban om religious freedom but Icelands government is comparing this bill to a bill that was put in place in 2006 that banned female circumcision. Nordic communities say that this ban is devastating to the most central part of their faith. What does pol think of this amd circumcision in general?
