Is this the second coming of Konosuba?
Is this the second coming of Konosuba?

yes
Why, just because it's comedy and fantasy?
It's much older than Konosuba, it's a remake of a classic. It's way more enjoyable to me than Konosuba ever was, though. I love that we have an actual journey and adventure going on in Mahoujin Guru Guru, it's great.
It's older than Konosuba.
Comparing them is an insult to Mahoujin
>no next episode previews
It's airing this season
Except better, since it got 24 episodes.
It's konosuba without the otaku shit
I still love Konosuba though
It's a remake, the original aired in 1993.
It's also not isekai, just fantasy and adventure with wacky comedy.
...
Speaking of, does any pastafags know what's coming to us in the next episodes?
What's up with Japs shoving Isekai into every fantasy show lately? It's ridiculous. Like in that magic & knights or whatever show.
The dudes dies in the beginning and is reincarnated in fucking fantasyland. What for? How did it help? Why?
Just so the guy could say "I love giant robots" while riding a giant robots? He could do that even if he wasn't a goddamn Japanese code monkey in his previous life.
>lately
It's not anything new really, even in the 90s they were not that rare, I remember stuff like Magic Knight Rayearth and El-Hazard. It's just a burst of popularity after a time of silence.
Hold tight that the comcept is still hella popular and will be around for a while. But that's why Mahoujin is so good, modern fantasy tropes are already so overused, so going back to a classic feels fresh.
You do have a point. But what I meant was they seem to be making more stuff Isekai even when it's not needed or relevant in the first place.
>The dudes dies in the beginning and is reincarnated in fucking fantasyland. What for? How did it help? Why?
It makes for easier self-insertion for audiences seeking escapism. Note how MCs in modern isekai series also tend to be complete losers in their previous lives.
It seems to be such an unhealthy take, though.
"If you kill yourself you'll get reincarnated in anime land!".
I mean, of course nobody takes it seriously, but .. yeah, something about it just bugs me.
More Kukuris, in any case.
That and the simple fact that something popular did it and was succesful is also one of the reasons we see so much isekai nowadays.
>More Kukuris, in any case.
the cutest
How dare you fucking insult this show by comparing it to the garbage that is Konosuba, may you be turned into a dog.
Need a video compilation of every time she says "yuusha-sama"
>still no isekai anime where the protag drags everyone summoned to their own world while kicking and screaming
That's a great idea, I wonder if someone ever did that for the old show.
I don't even dislike konosuba but they're so different. Weird bait
>What for? How did it help? Why?
It's not completely pointless since it shows he's a programmer and he invents a gun in the first episode. But then that's not such an elaborate reason
nicovideo.jp
I don't get it
this is the second coming of guru guru
Should I watch the original first or go right to this?
You can start with the new one, but after catching up with the latest episode, give the classic a chance as well, it's pretty nice.
It's ok. I have found a lot of the bits and gags to be unfunny (a guy dancing and shaking his butt, really?) But Kukuri and Nike are great.
The original is a manga.
This show is too high brow for you. Go watch something more your speed, like Princess Principal.
CHINGO
:DDDD
>this shoujo shit artstyle
Hella ugly desu. Dripped.
>shoujo artstyle
>a guy dancing and shaking his butt, really
Yes really, and he was a really loved character in the past as well, so much that he got his own manga spin-off.
>too high brow
Nah
>Guruguru is now popular enough on Sup Forums to get such awful shitposting
There's shorts on Youtube if anything.
Do you know what shoujo means?
>really loved character
Even the characters in-universe realize he's annoying
no bully
I miss the time when isekai had an actual story reason in the setting like Inuyasha.
which is older than konosuba
Kukuri is such an angel.
I like the opening.
Konosuba would've actually been good if it was Kazuma and Aqua going on an adventure like in Guruguru.
Same, ORESAMA did it great, such a cute song.
...
In the past I would search for ククリ and only ever fin images of exotic weaponry, times changed for the best.
A magic staff is mundane weaponry where you live?
...
What's lil kuku sayin here
Her favorite catchphrase.
It's a DQ parody from an era when DQ parodies weren't the pulped remains of a dead horse. The only noteworthy thing about it is the loliservice.

I feel that calling you a newfag would be an insult to all newfags in the world.
The part of the story that parodies classic RPGs the most is just the beginning though, when it sets the start of Nike's journey and the mission to defeat a Demon Lord, after that it becomes it's own thing. It was, and still is pretty unique at what it did.
>ep 4's ending
fucking great
what?
I wonder how powerful Kukuri's staff actually is. If I remember well the party gets lots of new equipment, from weapons and armor to magical items as the story goes, but Kukuri never changes her staff.
>without the otaku shit
Dragon quest menus are the most otaku shit.
I get it's probably from it's own proper game, but still.
>Speaking of, does any pastafags know what's coming to us in the next episodes?
If I remember well they are going to visit the onaho-I mean, fairy town next episode, I think there will be a little story arc around the place.
No, this is good unlike memesuba
ugly girl
...
nah
>what's coming to us in the next episodes
Fairies and Kukuri spilling spaghetti everywhere.
