Slayers

What was the point of her hair turning white? If it was permanent then I could see it being a defining consequence of using too much magic.

But it just seemed out of nowhere and quickly dismissed.

I haven't watched it since that green rabbit thing was added to the party

It's time for Slayers love!

Do you think Lina and Naga ever got so drunk that on one night they messed around with each other? Not much, just made out and groped each other a bit.

I wish the anime didn't change Xellos as much as it did.

Still love the anime tho.

i want paizuri from naga

But there is nothing to grope on Lina.

her hair turning white is a result of her temporarily channeling the lord of nightmares' power. it's less to show the side effects of magic and more to reflect that Lina keeps tapping into things she doesn't understand.

Maybe? Probably? I don't think it'd end well though.

What did they change ? Love anime xellos.

The anime makes him goofy and he and Lina gets along fine when he is not fucking around. In the Novel Lina is terrified by him and know that if he feels like it he can kill them all any time he wants.

Is Lina the best anime girl ever?

>What was the point of her hair turning white?
Fight me, you stupid newfag.

CHARTS

>kill one of the demon kings
>you literally can't use the spells he invented anymore because he was making it possible to cast them

TRY could've been the best. Should've paced itself better. Why did it kill off all the buildup mid-season?

I still loved it.

[muffled Give a Reason playing in the distance]

Awesome as fuck

I haven't watched Revolution, but in the original series her hair goes white after she uses the Giga Slave. Perhaps interacting with the Lord of Nightmares is what causes her hair (possibly the rest of her body to some extent) to change, albeit temporarily. It's almost too good to be true that she doesn't receive any permanent effects from using such powerful magic.

I've never watched the originals because lololdanime, but I loved Revolution. Evolution-R was okay.

She, in fact, did use Giga Slave again in RevolutionR.

I refuse to believe people like this actually exist. Surely you're baiting, right? Excellent job my friend, you got me.

I implore you to reconsider.

The first three series came out before I was even born (December 1998). You have NO idea how impossibly old/crusty they look and feel to my 18 year old brain. My brain's been fed on anime from the late 2000s and newer, mid to late 90s stuff is just so wildly different from what I'm used to and feels really archaic.

Jesus Christ just stop posting

Not only are you a child, you're a fucking idiot. Congrats.

>Not using it as an opportunity to expand your horizons
Fag

Consider the following: Dragonball Super looks like old Slayers, but is is modern.

I want to marry Naga

>it's another "people born in 1985 get angry over something minor" episode

Okay, old-timers, you win. I'll go back and watch Classic, Next, and Try.

Give a reason > Breeze > Get along > Plenty of Grit > Front Breaking

FUREEEEEZE ARRO

>Naga was supposed to be a satire of fanservice

Exquisite taste my friend, altough for me Give a reason = Breeze.

Yes

Yeah, but her character grew up and became the co-protagonist of Special

Don't forget

...

Of course not

He was the power source so yea

Stop posting, you barley pass for age now, try to watch older stuff before you make too many quick judgments on older things.

aaaaAAAAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Love the naga the serpent is amelias' lost sister.

...

Pokota was a mistake

Yeah I just watched the first episode of the original. I can definitely get used to the art style with time, though S1E1 wasn't too amazing. I've always heard Slayers gets off to a slow start though.

First season isn't too spectacular, but Next is golden.

Nendoroid Lina? I stopped buying anime merchandise years ago, but I have to buy this.

It's not uncommon for magic users in fiction to have their hair turn white when over using their powers.

I was on medication when I first watched s1 and part of s2, should I rewatch? I may ruin it by being sober?

How is hair color a magical reagent?

I have no clue. It just seems like a trend sort of like psychic nosebleeds.

>Person with red outfit and white hair holding a sword

I always figured vibrant colors can represent life and life energies so when channeling such powerful destructive magic it's like some of the vibrant life energy just fucks off. I dont know nigga it's fantasy.

Slayers reboot by BONES when?

Why would Bones do it when JC Staff still exists?

JC Staff has moved to comfy low action anime.

They are putting out the new Negima anime next season, so I don't really see your point.

Because Revolution and Evolution-R were made.

Fuck JC Staff.

They worked on the original Slayers as well and those didn't suck. In the end it depends on the specific staff working on the anime. See: The difference between Tantei Opera Milky Holmes and Futari War Milky Holmes.

I wouldn't mind an SoL Slayers series, when you think about what SoL means in Slayers terms.

That would just be Slayers Special.

Wew laddie.

Fuck MODERN JC Staff. There you go. Plus, I hate the visual style the decided to use for the new series. It's completely soulless and looks low budget as fuck. I'm all for a style update, but at least make it good.

Part of becoming an adult is learning that you don't have to broadcast every shit opinion that pops into your head.

Never ever. Revolution/Evolution-R killed it and traditional fantasy has been supplanted by isekai nowadays.

We had a ton of "Traditional fantasy" shows last season though. If anything they won't make another series as they can't just advertise the LNs as they ended years ago.

I didn't even know about her hair turning white

I also liked the "can't use magic while menstruating" bit

Lina's hair turns white when her magic capacity is completely depleted. It happened to her in Slayers Wonderful too.

The effect seems to be one of those things that depends on the magic user. In Amelia's case, when her magic is depleted she just gets so exhausted that she faints.

Canon awoo appearance never.

The first three seasons of Slayers are excellent and I implore you to put your prejudices aside and give them a try. You'll get used to the artstyle given enough exposure.

Naga would not force Lina-chan into doing lewd thing while tipsy.

JC Staff dropped the ball hard with the new Slayers seasons but the OP/ED were excellent as always.

I hate the idea of a reboot because it would scuttle all chance of a continuation of the anime continuity.

Just animate the remaining novels as sequels to the anime.

We need a new spinoff series about slayers kids.

I want to see what Amelia and Zel's kids would look like. Would they be part golem/brau demon? Maybe they'll put off the babymaking until he turns human.

I grew up on pre-y2k gold, and would say that anime up to now is far less attractive. The fact you feel this way makes me want to punch you in the face for being a stupid cunt.

It isn't any more low budget than the original. If anything they need to stick to the source material rather than deviating with an awful anime original plot.

Naga is a pure girl who dresses slutty (without being fully aware of it)

Can I ask what you liked about Revolution? Many non-Japanese Slayers fans didn't care for it. I didn't think it would appeal much to new viewers because it made so many references to the previous seasons.

As an old Slayers fan, I thought Evolution-R was slightly closer to the spirit of the first three seasons than Revolution, but neither captured the same magic.

That's literally how Sorcerers work
You are channeling the demon's power, if he no longer exists there is no power to use
Read about how DnD classes work, they're pretty interesting

This post gave me cancer

Putting all the filler together in the middle of the season was a mistake. It didn't help that most of it was pretty dumb and not that funny. I also didn't like that they split up the party for so many episodes.

Hajime Kanzaka did series composition for Try (together with Jirou Takayama) so some of the blame lies with him. He did such a good job on Next so I don't know what went wrong.

The main plot was more than decent and if they had found a way to tie the filler into it somehow, that would have been a big improvement.

>sorcerers
I believe as far as DND goes that's warlocks. Sorcerers power comes from other sources like bloodlines. that said the mechanic in the series is cool.

Amelia nendo when?

Sorcerers in D&D don't take their powers from demons, you may be confusing them with another class. And to be frank, sorcerers in the Slayersverse and D&D are very different.

Slayers did it before that garbage

Not the same user but, downloaded all fifteen novels a few days ago, excited to see the other differences ^^

I used to pretend she was my big sister as a kid I love her so much

I loved this

>^^
>

Nigga I'm 18 and NEXT is literally my favourite anime. Who cares when it came out

...

It was 10 years old when I watched it, it already looked somewhat archaic to me and I loved it immensely. I hope you're serious in and won't rob yourself of this treasure.

Has anybody read any good LinXellos fanfics?

I'm not a big fan of XelLina, but the Absolution series by The Prime Minister is better than average.

For Slayers fanfics, I usually stick to ZelAme, and his Z/A story Circumnavigation which is the beginning to Absolution is pretty good.

...

i'm only 4 years older than you and also most of my first anime were 2000+ but now i prefer 90s anime because they unironically look better than most anime that come out today, which still suffer from shit animation and shortcuts
