The Pink Panther one seems to more of an homage rather than a crossover, kind of like the redesigned Roadrunner/Coyote

It's an unofficial crossover, but the description in the guidebook strongly suggests she was born from the Pink (Panther) diamond that ended up in the park somehow.

In the original game, how many friends were there? I know we got about 30 or so in the show with names and voices attached, but how many were there that could be potential newcomers? Excluding crossovers and collabs, of course.

I just want Axolotl and Skyfish. Those two would make me happy.

Here's a wiki for the game, I think it lists everyone twice though. There were quite a few new Friends in each booklet though, with lots of redesigns as well so it isn't very accurate anymore if you want a database.

IIRC, the game had about 360 Friends. I can't remember if that's counting the collaborations or not, but even if it's counting them there were only 11 crossover Friends (5 from Keroro, 6 from GiTS)

According to japari-library.com/wiki/Category:Friends, there are around 410 Friends, more or less. Though, some were redesigned, collaborative, and newly created. Keep in mind that library is still a work in progress, so expect some degrees of unreliability. I forgot where the link to the actual and official Japari Library link though.

Just found an old post. 365 Friends in the game, including the Keroro and GiTS ones, So, 354 without counting them.

The Keroro ones have appeared in a couple of images after the mobile game, since Mine Yoshizaki is the creator of both, but they're generally excluded.

And, yeah, like mentioned above, we got a couple of new Friends in the anime, then the guidebooks, also those horses and a couple of other events.

It was odd. The posting was following all the rules of the sticky.

I though they were just putting their own policy in to action, since these threads have a general flavor to them, despite not having the obvious signs of being a general. There was a small conversation about the Penguin Idol episode at the end, but there were still large periods of inactivity. I wouldn't be surprised if others outside of the thread started complaining if things keep going as it is.

The thing is that the guidelines from the sticky don't say anything about "generals" being bad if you have a decent level of reading comprehension. All it advises against is making OPs that look like dumb generals or templates, and it even acknowledges the existence of generals that aren't bad and how recurring threads aren't the same as generals. Talking about the penguins didn't break any rules either because it clearly states how discussions about characters are perfectly fine.
So it was most likely either a misfire, OP getting banned elsewhere for some reason, or full retardry. I'll try to be optimistic and choose the first option.

That whol episode felt off to me. Not going to call it the worst episode, but it felt like a diversion, especially after the owls told Kaban her species might all be dead.

What happened to the last thread? It hadn''t reached the bump limit yet.

Kaban had no immediate goal after reaching the library, so the owls gave her a chance to take a break from traveling. That's also why she didn't solve any problems that episode.
In the end she even got a new goal (reach the ocean) so everything turned out okay.

It dawned on me that Kemono Friends from the very start was intended to be a franchise that was supposed to bait otaku to buy so many things

Yet, because it was a fun show that looked so different it achieved that next level of consumer demand as opposed to other otaku bait show

It was intentionally a diversion and it made me appreciate the care of the narrative the staff came.

It was the only episode that Kaban didn't need to do anything and only at the end of the episode shows the audience the new goal (finding the humans) after reaching the previous one in the previous one
